Funny how opinions can differ. The only reason I went to see that show
was because Type O was there. I didn't even bother to stick around for
    the GR encores.

They couldn't open for GR now anyways 'cause they are doing the Ozzfest
    thing.

    Hi,

Something very similar happened in DC when Metallica played. Only
here, they made it look like the guy on the catwalk called and was
strangled on a cable or something.

In other words, Metallica intended it to like the show was all
screwed up. Perhaps at you show something actually did go wrong, beyond
    that.

-- Self-esteem, as his inviolate certainty that his mind is competent

I've been looking for this Dream Theatre band for awhile, but every
time I find their name in a record store, they only have Dream Theater
CD's. According to the ads for Fates Warning's new album, Kevin Moore was
in Dream Theatre as well as Dream Theater. And isn't it odd that the other
band has a song called "Erotomania"? Next thing we'll know, they're from
Long Island and have an internet mailing list devoted to them.

Well, QR isn't even playing SF from what I understand, so that
probably answers your question. But how many people do an
opening band add anyway considering they play less than an
hour and most fans of a band want a :75-:90 or longer set by
them anyway. It definitely adds some, but is it enough to justify
    the addition?

I might get scorched hard for this but "it's gotta be said." If this
tour doesn't do well then I think this band's gonna call it a day.
There will be the obligatory compilation with two unreleased
trax or a live CD, but I really feel like this is the last chance to
see them. I hope I'm wrong and if it makes someone feel better
to flame me then go ahead, but it's a definite possibility.

Well, in about 12 hours I'm off to Chicago. Maybe I can score a
ticket for the game 1 of the Bulls/Hawks series. Yeah, and Donkeys
might fly out of my butt :)

Try http://www.altura.com/jordanz/spocks_beard for starters. Great page.
You'll have to mail order the discs (there are 3), but it's *well* worth

Hey! I'm one of those bandwagon jumpers! but then I've delved back
and learned to like Rage for Order more than any other album they've
made and I like PL alot and the new one's a badass album in it's own
right. Empire was a good starting point for people to get into them.
Here in Idaho, Queensryche was pretty much unknown till Empire came
out since the only outlets for new music before the net were MTV and
radio. I did hear a couple QR songs from Mindcrime on the radio back
then, but wasn't a big enuff music freak back then to jump on it
    either... :)

Jammers! Our calling is here. What we must do is infiltrate a
jammer into every radio station across the country. Some have begun,
but we must do it soon. Imagine the impact of having a jammer as a
VJ on MTV! We could rule the world! Or at least subdued teenage
    America. :)

I could almost help you there. There's a Dream Theatre section in
the local Hasting's, but they must be a good band since there's never
any CDs by them in it. They must sell out quickly. It just pisses
me off that they don't even give Dream Theater their own marker and
just dump em in right after the Dream Theatre one. DREAM THEATER
DESERVES THEIR OWN TAG DAMMIT! It's not even alphabetical... The
    nerve...

I HATE it when people leave an unused email addresss subscribed to a mailinglist :-/

That would be Ramon L. Gaddi :-) (found one of his posts on Ytsejam #2311)

Ok, so my roomate and I are out celebrating the end of classes. We're at a bar here at PSU, and my roomate is wearing his ACOS shirt from the home for the holidays shows. All of the sudden this girl points at my roomates shirt and says, "My brother is the drummer!", and my roomate and I are like, "are you f*cking kidding me, we've heard about you!" (We had had a few drinks at this point in the night) So basically we were totally amazed. Couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe it either. She was up for the weekend because one of her friends was getting engaged. (She graduated from PSU by the way) She took our picture and everything. Anway, she said that we were the only people she'd met at PSU that had heard of DT, except for this DJ who played DT when she was here. And we said, we met him once. Side story: Two years ago at the home for the holidays shows, before the Birch Hell show, we were eating at the Fantasia diner with a buch of you other jammers, and we were sitting with this guy from Alabany (are you still on the jam?, forgot you're name) who said that he wen't to PSU and was a DJ, and that when he was playing DT (this is back in the WDADU days), a girl called him up and said that she was Portnoy's sister. So, we had known for a couple years that Portnoy's sister had graduated from here, and out of nowhere we run into her at a bar. Good thing my roomate was wearing his shirt, or we would have never known. She told us that she had just become an aunt a couple days earlier, which we didn't know at the time. She also said that they have no idea who that kid was on the cover of ACOS. She said he looked like a kid they grew up with, but they didn't know who he was. Anway, I'm still amazed that we ran into her. Just goes to show: Always wear your DT shirts, I do . . . usually.

    Back to the jam:
