Hmm, K-SHE 95 in St. Louis has the exact same program on Sunday
nights. They do a variety of albums, mostly in the classic rock
vein, but occasionally do a newer band (heard Dark Side of the Moon
before, and, for anyone that may kn ow of them, Third Day's debut
album). I've only actually listened to it a few times, though.

I think that it is on the "Lie" single, but where can I find it? I
live in Brazil and so, my only chance to get it would be via an on-line
mailorder company. Do you know any (I have searched "CD Now" and "CD
    Universe" with no success).

Oh, how I wish I could get that single!

You just have to make a choice: Prime rib and Spice Girls on the radio or Ramen noodles and Symphony X and Angra on the CD player.

First, you don't need my input.

    Second, BLACK.

What you have said is true of painting, not nature. Black rocks do not look like they do because every other pigmentation found in the minerals of the Earth's crust combined themselves together and made a really really dark thing. There are many things that appear in nature as the color black, though I hesitate to call black a color because technically speaking LIGHT is required to use words like "color." (much like MANA is required to use words like "cast.") And as we've all heard from the philosophers of the world, "black is the absence of light!" And thus it cannot be a "color." What's really weird is that I can tell when something is black in a brightly-lit room (and even in a dimly-lit room). BUT, I can't tell the color of ANYTHING in total darkness.

What I have just proven is that black is not the absence of light, but in fact the absence of DARKNESS.

Mixing all paint-colors together might give you black, but more often just a really dark shade of brown. People who say black is a combination of all colors have never tried actually making it. Black dyes aren't produced by combining all other dyes, black dyes are synthesized. Most of the time when black appears on human beings it's a sign of either dead cells (hair, eyelashes, CANCER) or shadowy cavernous places (the pupil).

Take my shoes for instance, they weren't thrown in a vat of blue, then yellow, then red, then on through the secondaries, etc. The black ink-cartridge in my printer is defined as "true black," which is closer to actual black than the shade of black found by using the color cartridge, which combines yellow, red, and blue together to make a dark-dark shade that's close-close to black.

I have been told that when color is adhered to an object or when a dye is used, the object is "hued" and not "colored." Thus a black stereo or a black sofa is "hued" black and not "colored" black. It's very hard to argue this subject 'cause there's too many people who argue that black somehow "doesn't exist."

"Hey, like my new black shoes?"

"Black's not a color! It's the absence of light! It's invisible! You can't see it, you only THINK you're seeing it! Just like those spots on the screen at the movie theater!"

Speaking of spots on screens, am I the only person who can see the yellow and black reel-change spot in the upper righthand corner of the movie screen? There's an eight-seconds-until-we-change-the-reel spot and one-second spot. Is there anyone who sees what's going on? Please?

I need to get a hold of the "When Dream and Day Unite" CD, if it is even out there. I got the tape when it first hit the streets and needless to say it is getting very worn. I can make copies of it, but both my truck and my computer at work take CDs only. That's where I do most of my listening - besides slapping my skins on my drums next to my stereo at home. I have looked high and low and I'm afraid it doesn't exist. Any help from the fellow ytsejammers out there would be much appreciated!

Yep....Your room mate is exactly right. One of the strange things that you find quite often in the calculation of range is that people tend to make up their own definitions...does it contain falsetto...how strongly do you need to be able to hold the notes....should you need to be able to keep the tonality all the way through. All singers have strong points and weak points....Mariah's songwriters exploit her falsettos abilities to sell records...Its a gimmick...same as Jim Gillette. Each of us has their own special abilities that can be brought out with the right song writers. I personally, am an alto....I can sing quite high, without the use of head voice basically because I spent an entire summer sitting with my vocal coach working on smoothing it out. However, that doesn't mean that every song I sing needs to contain every note in my range. What it does mean is that the notes that were once only semi comfortable I can hit now with very little effort and every single time. To end my babbling...a singer who knows her/his craft ( yeah I wrote her first on purpose lol) can use what they have to their advantage skillfully while still experimenting and adding to their abilities out of the camera's view. Sure taking chances with new songs on stage is fun...but night after night it can take its toll on your vocal chords....so at times it is best to lay back a little and ensure that you can sing again tomorrow. _the babbling Lady Dragon <after a little bit of insight from my terminally-singing Music Theater <major room mate and a little more research into Mariah's songs, she has <this "normal" range (forgive me, I have NO idea what the range is), this

<HUGE gap in between, and then the falsetto/scream/wailing range. Anybody <else notice this gap?

I mean they should put on meats under their skins or use hair wigs. he,he,he...... But the most important point is whether they rock or not. On this point,Michael Romeo is bril.
