attest to the fact that this Boston-based group delivers a tight and
furious set of guitar-driven rock that is unmatched by anything topping
the charts today. Comparisons here on the jam have likened the band to

This may be true....but I think it sounds weak. As though it was recorded
with no conviction and like it just "had" to be done. For my mind I despise
"One". It really annoys me...(except for that double kicks
bit)...especially since it was rereleased. the coolest song is "Dyer's Eve"
but it definitely has nothing to do with my surname...honest...heh heh.
Just my Opinion.
As for the guy who flamed me re: Cryptic writings. At any stage did i say
that cryptic Writings was bad? Nope. Just that megadeth have changed
they're tune just like Metallica. i'd listen to new Megadeth over new
Metallica any day. FYI my friend who is an old school megadeth fan has got
Cryptic Writings and told me it wasn't as good as he had hoped. Not as Good
as Rust...Just like I commented. And no he's not an old speed/thrash
fan...his fave band...DT.

I've only read The Onion once and it was fuckin' amazing. The one article
that stands out in mind is the one which had Christopher Reeves being
reluctantly placed on the top of the Washington Monument in celebration of
his courageous effort to overcome his disability. You have to read it.
About Vixen: damn good band. "Edge Of A Broken Heart" is a classic
song. I don't really like female singers in hard rock (which is funny
because my band is actually trying one out this weekend), but these girls
rocked. Too bad Richard Marx wrote that song. If anyone has a copy of him
doing that live, e-mail me privately. Another great band to check out with
a female lead singer is Shaking Family. They are probably the most
obscure band I'll ever mention on this list. And one of the cheapest:
99 cents. More pop-rock though. But AMAZING lyrics.

Well, I played some DT for my sister last night...
she's 32 and is pretty familiar with some 80's music...but now mostly likes
the top 40 women singer type... but she knows some styx....and I played
parts of tracks from FII and she said it was a LOT like Styx to her.
Well, I do have to admit... that the beginning of TOT reminds me of
something from Cornerstone... <shrug> I dunno...
anyone else have an opinion on this?

Has enybody heard something about the "IMAGES AND WORDS hard box" ?
I own 1 copy :-) It's a beautyfull 31 x 15 cm hard box (ID: 92148-2 Atco).
The cover is the same as the original IAW cover, but you can see more. Than means, that the original cover is expandet (lot of more of the Sky)
Last years, I've bought it from a guy, who was a big DT fan but has lost his interests in DT. (good for me)
I'm just wondering if it's at all very rare, since I've paid 100 DM for it.
It's still sealed. Acutally I don't know what else the CD is inside. It has a sticker which says : Includes
Pull Me Under Metropolis - part I !!!! Under A Glass Moon !!!!
Anyone knows something about this real tresure ??

I've never bothered to watch eMpTV except for Beavis & Butthead, Headbanger's Ball and Into The Pit or then zapping around some just out of boredom... but as long as they're not into pure synth stuff such as the Human League they probably need a bunch of studio musicians and I only can hope they pay them well and don't treat them like slaves... and I also should add that I hope they sing themselves...

Sure, the "find all you need in your mind..." approach :-) The only problem w/ this one is that humans don't live their lives as disembodied spirits, and viewing oneself just as happening to be trapped in some body resp. life in general as a "vale of tears" is *awful*.=20
The only thing you'd better spare yourself is buying some "How to find your partner for life in 12 steps" program full of precocious "advice".
I found it helpful to not deny my own sadness, vulnerability and such, which made me more sensitive to both negative and positive experiences, but this is a life I like better to than just being cut-off from any of my feelings. So I think it is a good first step that you broke your silence and started writing about your feelings some.

I once by chance found a cure by the sound engineer of my then band I only recently had joined playing some tape to me and me going "WOW!! This is amazing... I wish I could play bass like that! Ha ha... In case I find a decently priced Rickenbacker 12 string (nothing compares to that jangly sound :-)) we're gonna do a Bangles cover :-) Maybe next to a DT cover... I was into hard-as-nails stuff up to grade 8... then I just didn't give any f*** about school any longer -- actually I did everything to flunk just to to get away from this bunch of &%^*=A7$! YECH!! -- and got into fusion which in the 70s still was called jazzrock and was more of the Mahavishnu than of the Spyro Gyra type, so it was intense, too, though somehow more differentiated and colourful... as I then went to university I got into gutwrenching stuff again... :-)
