Breaking the Silence is readily available in cut-out bins.
Or, it was about two years ago around these parts. I bought
a copy of that and Victims of Deception for about $1.99 each.
I am not trying to rub it in or anything, heh.
CD of the Day: Galactic Cowboys - The Horse that Bud Bought
Note 1 on that cd: If I didn't know better I would think that
the band bought heroin with money they earned selling pot, thus
the title of the cd.
Note 2 on that cd: Except for the first four songs + Media Slant
I like this cd. There are 14 songs, so about 9 of them are good.
If you have the cash - buy it, if not - don't break the bank.

Hi!
This is my first post to the jam, altough I've been around for
quite a while. Now with the release of FII I'm convinced that DT is
my abolsute fav band (just knocked Megadeth from #1!!, so to the guy
who said that the jam is gonna get full of Metalheads, it already
is!!).
I have a question for you, my fav album at the time is Awake, so
bearing this in mind, could you tell me:
Which is the best albmu to get to know Rush, Fates Warning and
Savatage??
I hope you can help me out on this one, I'm planning to get into
those bands. The only one I've heard is Rush (I remeber Free Will, i
liked that one). So please send me your suggestions.
Thanks.
Long live DT!!

We were so sorry to hear about your accident, Gene. We hope that you have
a quick recovery.
Sometimes, we don't realize how very precious life is until we almost lose
it. For those of you
out there who don't know Gene, my daughter and I had the pleasure of
meeting him at theU2
show last year. He is a bright, warm, and friendly young man, with a great
future ahead of him.Good luck and get well, Gene!!

Sure. They were great and I'm waiting for them on the next tour
(which, according to some sources, will last for 10 months). Let's hope
they end the tour here and do some of the odd things such as "Nightmare
Cinema"... :-)

It is very interesting, since I got FII *YESTERDAY* at "Destroyer"
(Galeria do Rock) for $20. It is expensive, but not that $28 you seem to
have paid (or you don't have the album yet?)

Ugh! Man, if Die Krupps is as good as they have shown in the Metallica tribute, then I don't really want to know how are the "average" industrial bands. It is pure techno with no heavyness (in fact, I was expecting something as heavy as like Strapping Young Lads').
This CD was the worst $15 that I have ever spent. :-( But since I bought it together with Opeth's "Morningrise" and "Orchid", so it was not a total waste of money.

Just read Clark's double post about what he loves about I&W's and how it compares to some of DT's other material. By the time I was finished reading it, I felt like giving you a standing ovation. Great job!!

The above line may be from NM, but a relatively unknown band called The Loveless (made up of some former memebers of the NY band Electric Angels- I'll be seriously impressed if anyone here has heard of them) have a song called "If I Only Knew Then." In this song, there is the line, "When the light at end of the tunnel/ Is a train." Their album came out about a year or two ago. Coincidence?

I asked a question about You Not Me concerning the sampling at the end...well upon further listening(on my headphones) I noticed more to it. There are two separate samples going on. The first one starts off around the ending where it is just instrumental in the right speaker followed by an entirely different sample in the left channel a couple of seconds later. It will be difficult to make out what they say, due to the fact that I will probably blow out my speakers....or my eardrums :) Merlo....do you have any info on this? I figure you would be the one to ask. Second, does anybody know if any of the former band memebers of Cynic are working on any other projects....or if anything has been released already? Thanks.

Not to mention recorded an album titled "Crack a Smile" which has been booted and is in my possesion. :) Bret Michaels also has a solo CD slated for January. Poison plans to record their new album in December hoping for a Feb-March release. :) I happy. :) On another Glam band note - I met the long white-haired dude from Cinderella yesterday, in Bismarck, ND. He's working here doing concrete work 'cuz he got starned or something here. Blew my mind, but sure enough, when I got home and looked at my record... it;s him. They also had a Greatest Hits CD this summer, I forgot if you mentioned it. Welp, Ja mata! IT's wierd, I hear so many "I was converted by PMU." Just to be precise (cause you know how I am :), Euclidean geometry (and non-Euclidean geometry too, for that matter) starts with five axioms. The first four (defining lines and points and such) are the same for all the geometries, and the fifth -- the parallel lines axiom -- differs from system to system. These five are considered the basic axioms, and everything else is built from there.

Well, I was converted by "Metropolis". A frined of mine told me: "You've got to check this band out". I was not impressed by PMU, nor Another day, until the side B came (it was a tape) and I thought "Wow, how'd they play THAT???". Then I was hooked.

I'm sure I'm one of very few that was converted by "Surrounded." I had had I&W forced upon me, and I just couldn't get into all the proggy wackiness at all, because I wasn't listening by choice. But I kept going back to it because "Surrounded" struck a nerve. Such a beautiful song, but with important parts in 5/4, it stood out even more. Then I realized the polyrhythms going on in the verses, and I decided to investigate further.
Then I saw them live and, well, here I am. :)
