Nick played on three and a half songs, and is *not* the full-time drummer for
Genesis (since he's still the full-time drummer for the Beard). Nir Z played
on the rest of the album. I don't remember who the touring drummer is, but I
know it's not Nick, and I think it's not Nir, but I'm not sure.

    Howdy folks...

I'm making available one track from the Falling Into Infinity demo
sessions that won't be available on any B-Sides as far as I know... this
song is called Cover My Eyes.

This song is NOT on the japanese version of FII either...

And it's not a cover of the Marillion song... :)

    Hi, there...

I've updated my homepage (only a little -- there will be more updates soon, I hope) and the main things that I've included there are an Angra bootleg called "Holy Land in the East" and a Metallica bootleg from the good old days :-), the *ONLY* bootleg containing "Trapped Under Ice" (it also contains Happy Birthday to Kirk and "The Call of Ktulu").

I'm very interested in trading for any bootlegs from the "Justice" tour (I'll give preference if it is a video) or any DT high quality video, but I'm open to any trades. Just make me an offer and we'll see what we can arrange.

If you want to trade, please, send an e-mail to <rbrito@ime.usp.br>. My trade homepage address is:

Also, if you encounter any problem with my page, please let me know, since it's not verified against HTML syntax errors.

According to a fellow jammer, he says he recalls hearing a rumor ON THE JAM a week or so ago about a Nov. 2nd DT concert in Minneapolis.

Note: This is NOT the intentionally fictional date that I posted kiddingly a few days ago.

What I'm referring to here is an actual, genuine, 100% bonafide RUMOR where my post was simply a lie.

Anyway, right now I'm so impatient waiting for a Minneapolis date, I'm even willing to investigate and prove/disprove a flimsy RUMOR!!! All I need is the venue.

If anyone recalls seeing it and recalls the venue or feels like doing a search through previous jams, I would be much obliged...

I talked with someone from Elektra a couple weeks or so ago...

since I live in Madison, WI... I only asked him about the dates in the area (which I posted before)

November 1 Chicago (House of Blues) November 2 Minneapolis (1st Avenue) November 3 Milwaukee (The Rave)

he told me that, then I asked him "why such small venues?"

He said that they want to be sure they sell out the shows, and by putting them in smaller venues, that will happen.

So, for everyone asking that question... there is your answer.

so as D-man said... >No one knows any more than anyone else. I'm sure that when one jammer learns >*anything* about impending tour dates in your part of the world, he or she >will post it here.

Just be patient... we jammers care about other jammers... really! and I'm gonna call That guy from Elektra again, and see if he'll send me more stuff...

It sucks that you have to rely on these bastards to find out tour dates, What a shit job of promoting this tour Todd T-boy Confessore, if indeed he's responsible as tour manager. they need to get their shit together. I don't get the idea of playing smaller venues.

Anyways I got the Japanese FII today, I like the demo of TAMP , it is slower and heavier , also has the original lyrics to the third verse. And when James belts out "The curtain Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllls" it rocks. Also Speak to Me is good , very U2 ish. my opinion only. Later Rob

    - Did you get any sleep AT ALL? Get a life, duder. :)

I'm a theater tech, what sleep?

-Easier said than done. Sure, someone like Metal Blade or -Roadrunner might like them, but they don't have the moxie -(read: money) that Elektra has IF THEY WANT TO COMMIT IT.

And I agree with you there. With the money that they are getting now, how ever much that is, its probably nothing to what they should get. As for Elektra, yea to them its all about money but if your smart with spending your cash, would you not put money behind what you can push? and then save the rest for something else or gip some other people in the process just because they can if they want.

Yea, and money can buy other things, ilke help pay for some gear etc...Then again, if it was me, I wouldn't let anyone else buy my gear for me, i.e. "would you like a new bass, go pick one out and we'll pay for it". As nice as that seems, I'll pay for it myself thank you. I really don't think any of us are privy to DT's expense account at the moment :)

-Might work if Jammers in individual cities could help with -promotion, getting the word out, scouting venues, etc. But -who pays for the radio ads? Etc..... Hint: if ya buy -radio ads for a show and offer free goodies to the station, -they JUST might add your song for a few spins.

You can pay for airtime if you want. The situation here (vancouver) is a bit different. if you fax the radio station and ask them to read it, chances are, it'll get done. It's like who you know and if you can get the word out over the airways, well, your job is done for that point. You don't really need airtime, just make sure you grab the time when people are listening. (lots of people) As for venues, hey, use some connections because if you rent a venue for a night etc...and it pays off to be succesful, a good relationship is formed and that can always pay off afterwards. I'm pretty sure if some jammers in other cities were too book some venues, I think DT would take the chance to show up and play. I mean, wouldn't you?

Ah, the smell of an Aussie tour brings out of the woodwork several 'lurkers' :) No one knows about an Australian tour yet, all it is so far is 'talk', we will be the first to know there is gonna be an Aussie tour, just be patient guys. 'FII' hasn't even got/had/have a local release here so don't hold your breathe for a tour just yet. Without a release of their most recent product do you seriously think that DT's record company will finance a tour here ? What we can do is start hassling the record company about releasing it here.

On the other hand...Maybe they need him to keep the little girls in = the fanclub.......

[Caught in Amsterdam '97] CIA97 just now came in the mail today, and man, this is one cool boot. It has essentially the same setlist as the FF96 boot, but the sound quality is better. It was recorded April 14, 1997 at Melkweg, Amsterdam, Holland. The old versions of the songs are all here in all their extended glory. The tracklisting is as follows: Disc One 1. ACoS - The Crimson Sunrise / Innocence (7:13) 2. The Mirror (7:02) 3. Lie (7:46) 4. Burning My Soul (8:42) 5. Another Hand / The Killing Hand (14:24) 6. Just Let Me Breathe (5:35) 7. Caught in a Web (7:21) 8. Peruvian Skies (6:45) 9. Pull me Under (7:45) Disc Two 1. Lines in the Sand (15:46) 2. Take Away My Pain (7:01) 3. ACoS - The Darkest of Winters (5:12) 4. The Ytsejam (6:30) 5. Learning to Live (16:45) 6. Metropolis - Part 1 (13:49)

I'm offering it for replication for $35, recorded Disc-At-Once for no gaps between tracks. Go to my page (http://www.geocities.com/soho/2236) for where you need to send your money.

Orrrrrr.... you *could* order "Spinning Years", which has "Caught in Amsterdam '97" as well as "The Dance of Eternity", "Lost in the Sky", "Mind Control", "A Kick into a Dream", and "Uncovered" (12 discs total) all on one CD in MP3 format for $22. See below.

[Spinning Years] I just finished the liner today and HOLY SCHNIKEYS the it looks AWESOME. The printer will have them done by Friday. The reservation system for this one will be completely different than the way it was for "Seven Wonders". Just send in your money this time, and your disc number will be assigned then. The print run for this disc will be 250.

[Seven Wonders] Ordering continues. Almost at 120 reservations. Print run ends at 150. =)

Keep checking my page (http://www.geocities.com/soho/2236) for updates on orders and news about current and forthcoming CDs.

I've been thinking about this. Normally labels, especially majors don't pull this one-show-at-a-time bullshit, especially when the dates in question are getting pretty close. I don't mean to start the rumors flying here (like that disclaimer is going to help), but maybe this is sort of a mini-tour, kind of like the Fix Shows, just more spread out. And maybe, just maybe, the label wants to hook DT up as an opening band for someone bigger to widen their audience. Say what you may about shortened sets, rude crowds, whatever. The fact is that in this business it is either grow or die. Think about the trend. I&W was the most successful album, in the states anyway. They were playing fairly good-sized places by the end of that tour. When Awake came out, the places were smaller, plus they didn't tour America as much anyway. The the Fix Shows, which were even smaller and now this FII "tour." If DT doesn't open for someone or have a hit single (ala PMU) on their own, the future doesn't look bright. Sorry to be a pessimist. Maybe all the Desmond Child haters should take note of this.

Well, if DT was smart, and we all know they are, don't > bother recording it. Put out another EP, get a new label (I > believe they just have 1 more recording to do then they are > free from all contract obligations)

I don't know what their contract looks like, but there is something called "options" in the industry, where, after a band completes the initial length of their contract, the label reserves the right to retain their services for a specified number of option albums, usually, or at least hoefully, with different royalty rates. Anyway, my point is that trying to screw a company like Elektra is only going to bite you in the ass.

Give the new label the > song, well, don't GIVE them the song but record it and then > that basically tells the current label "Ha, we screwed you > over".

Recording a song, especially a 25min + song requires $$$ and lots of it. And if it's Elektra's money....

Having worked directly in publicity with Elektra's "sister" label Atlantic (Publicity are the people that arrange for press interviews to take place, as well as various other duties which are neither here nor there for now), I can say that I know of no such instance. The fact is that, as any long-time reader of Metal Edge will tell you, the magazine has ALWAYS been favorable to DT. Plus, it is a major label metal release on slow month for major label metal releases. It's not an issue of morality, it's one of supply and demand. Yes, an add for FII appears next to the interview. And Elektra might have even paid a little extra for the ad to appear in such a convinent location (or maybe Metal Edge did it at no charge...I have no idea), but to say that money changed hands in exchange for such nice coverage is ridiculous.
