Heyho! I lurk no mo'! Err..yeah.

Well, I think you're going to be VERY pleased with 'The Wake
of Magellan'! I thought that nothing could match DWD, but that
disc just blows it away. The melodies are great and the story
is great. And there's no weak songs in there like IMO in DWD.

            2. DT on wednesday! And JP and MP clinics on tuesday (dunno if

Well, there I disagree with you; obviously though I'm one of the few who
like the new sound (ah well). Flame me if ya want, just my opinion.
Anyway, they would have to throw in a few twangs here and there to make
    it true country ;).

Hell Yeah! I for one think them and Barney should be thrown in a
death-pit with Marilyn Manson. Of course we know who would win, but damn
it would be fun to watch. I think Pay-per-view would cover that :).

BTW, Goddamn the Jam sure is fun to read! Gullible AND pissed-off people
all thrown together! Whew, for a few weeks there I thought the Jam had
    settled down. Hehehe.

hey graham,(or any one else who gives a shit)

That thing I said about Yngwie Malmsteen wasn't exactly my opinion about
him anyway. I have a few of his albums and yes, JP kicks his ass
TOTALLY, IMHO, I like Yngwie's solo's, but he can't write a decent rythm
guitar line to save his life, his rythm stuff bores me to tears, and his
leads do get very repetitive. Sorry if I pissed you off, man, but I was
just trying to make the point that all of this putting down crap is not
very conducive to a good conversation. Check this out- most everyone,
if not everyone on this list, loves DT, but does that mean that someone
can't like another band, or another guitar player? Personally, one of
my favorite guitarists is Alex Skolnick. He is extremely fluid on the
old Testament stuff, which is kind of strange considering that it was
written on top of heavy thrash music. JP kicks his ass too,
technically, but that doesn't mean Alex Skolnick sucks, or that Yngwie
    Malmsteen sucks either.

Back to the Yngwie stuff, I read an interview in a guitar magazine, the
subject was DT. And he said that DT was his favorite band to listen to,
the only bad thing he said about DT was that he didn't care for the
drummer all that much, which isn't surprising considering almost
everything Malmsteen plays is in 4/4 time.

Actually, I don't even like Malmsteen that much at all, in fact, I think
    he's an arrogant prick.

I've just gotten the idea that a few people are somewhat narrow-minded,
and if I got the wrong opinion, I apologize for that. If you seriously
think I'm an asshole(I assure you I'm not) than please feel free to
    email me privately at lexine@rollanet.org

I know a lot of people that are into prog-metal, a lot of people that
are into death-metal, and a lot of people that like alternative stuff.

And I've noticed that some people have become narrow-minded in their
opinions of music, or music talent. What I'm trying to say is, let
whoever they are, go ahead and like Malmsteen if they choose to, because
music has plenty of room for people who enjoy it. And that goes for
people who like Green Day as well. It also goes for the homeless guy on
    the corner playing for money.

Music is everything, music is the one hope in a world where almost
everything else absolutely drives you insane.

I'm apologize if I pissed anybody off.

    Keys:
hey keyboardists, i just bought a Korg N364, it's a great synth, anyway, it
can store settings for sounds, and all kinda other shit on floppies. i was
wondering if anyone knew if i could download some settings files off the 'net
anywhere, or if anyone wants to trade some with me.

    Guitarists:
hey guitarists, if you live in maryland, can play some good progressive rock
(nothing extremely complicated), know music theory (i'm tired of being the
only one in the band that does), are open minded, drop me an email. my band
needs a good guitarist bad, i used to switch back and forthe from guitar to
keys, but now i decided just to stick to keys, even though i'm better on
guitar, don't ask me why, i don't know, the world may never know. anyway, we
are pretty serious, we only get a chance to all get together about once a
week, but we can practice any time. for more info, just drop me a line.

    a laugh:
    >Yngwie's stuff sounds to me like pirate music. When I hear
    >Yngwie I get scurvy.
    >

hahah, man, i don't know why, but that had me rollin for a few mins.

    ACTUAL DTC!:

this is probably in the FAQ, and although i know you're not supposed to ask
shit that's in the FAQ, i'm too lazy to look it up, so, here goes..

ok, both times i saw DT this tour, they played the same music before the
opening band, and then they played the unreleased DT songs before DT came on.
the question is, what were they playing before the opening band? it sounded
pretty good, even though the songs seemed to always end with double bass,
riding on the cymbals, the quarter note snare, and the guitar just wailing.
anyway, i just wanted to know so i could check it out, if they actually carry
it at a record store near me.

Perhaps if you dont judge the list after two days you will see a different
jam. Youre new at this, so we can forgive your ignorance, but threads like
this arise all the time, people voice their opinions, and then they die out
to be replaced by new ones. You havent seen that yet. Some of us that
have been around for years see people like you come and go, and your kind's
absence doesnt matter to us, so if you dont like it here, leave. If you
like DT and related bands and musicians, stick around, youll be surprised
at what turns up onthe jam.

    >Yngwie probably knows
    >more about music and theory than any of the FUCKERS that bash him put

Cool your jets man, there are some pretty musically literate people on the
jam. You havent been here long enough, so you wouldnt know.

    >So Fuck all you opinionated MOTHERFUCKERS.

I have opinions, so I am opinionated. Deal with it.

    >Half of you don't deserve to be DT fans in the first place.

You havent even seen a 20th of the jammers that exist, so chill until you
hear from them, then you decide whether they deserve to be DT fans.

Youre just a freshman loudmouth, and we all know where those end up, head
first in a garbage can. So stop typing and start reading, youll be
    surprised at what youll learn.

actually Yngwie cannot play what clapton does.....sure he could play it
technically but it would be soulles as that is not Yngwie's thing. Just
listed to any of Yngwie's 'blues' solos to understand. Bear in mind that
Yngwie is one of my favorite guitarists and I can't wait for the Concerto
to come out in the states........Plus 24 nights is incredibe......oh
Clapton could probably pull of a few Malmsteen runs as well.

To keep on the Yngwie tip for a bit in some of yngwies latest
interviews(last couple years) He seems to have mellowed out quite a
bit.....sure he used to be arrogant but what truly talented individual has
not dealt with arrogance......Heck in a recent interview he even had
something nice to say about Hanson ( he said they could sing in tune so
there must be something there,,,,he went on to bash the Spice girls saying
that they couldn't even sing in tune)....so you see Yngwie is a changed
man....at least to the media........also i thought Inspiration was by far
the best album he has released in the last few years......sadly Yngelbert
does not seem to have quite the song writing chops as playing chops. I
found his playing on 'in the dead of night' by UK to be incredible.

I was wondering if there are any other Bjork fans on this list....I know it
might be a stretch but some of her melodies are just awe inspiring.

One last thing does anyone here realize that Alex Skonlick has a band
called Skol-Patrol out and that they have an e.p. for sale through the
mail?....I am sending for one pretty soon....kick ass....

I guess that's all. for now.

seconds. Hum the crap you don't know etc..... Yadda Yadda Yadda..just

Joking? You think so? NOOOOO!? What are you suggesting? Someone
using SARCASM...on the jam?! He was dead serious, in fact I've heard
talk of this list changing its name to the YADNEERG just because we
    love them sooooo much.

Anyway, I think the point he was trying to make was that the attitude
he was sending up, is the way alot of people on this list talk about
the music we like as though we are the only ones with a valid opinion
and your response bears that out to a tee:

Hey, fuck ytsecon, let's have a ytsecru. - a crusade!

    - YEAH, let's visit the homes of evil Green Day fans in the dead of
night and rape their wives, and kill them in their sleep in the name
    of the righteous prog God.
