I need to add some comments to this thread. A producer's job is to make
the songs better. Now, most producers don't understand or care about the
musical ability behind things. The producer is supposed to help the
writers make the songs the best things they can possibly be. In Lines in
the Sand, there was some trimming of the intro and for me, it seems to
workj. I also like the different keyboard sounds from the fix for 96
version. However, I like the original Burning my Soul better than the one
on FII, and I love the one on FII. I guess it's a matter of taste.

Actually, I've always thought LTL could have done w/ a little trimming.
But it's still an incredible song.

Damn straight. I've been wanting to see them ever since I've been
listening to DT, and every time they've been to St. Louis during that
time, I haven't been able to make it for some reason. I did come
close to the Chicago show recently, but couldn't swing the cash.

Speaking of St. Louis, if anyone digs some of that heavy as stink
industrial (kinda in the vain of Fear Factory), Klank is playing at
Cicero's in the U. City Loop Jan. 22. If you dig that stuff, I
highly recommend this show. I'll be there.

Depends on how you view improvising. I'm a bass player, and I can improvise
a fill just fine, but if you ask me to improvise a whole solo, I turn from
a solid bass player to a gibbering ball of flesh and pain.

Then again, I don't think bass players should solo in the first place...
    but that's just my opinion.

That might be true (manufacturing)... however! To sell to the chains, the
manufacturer needs to sell the machine at far below retail so the chain
can make *their* profit. Trust me on this one. Usually the discount is
50-60%. Thus, it probably costs Sony 20 bucks to make the system, which
they sell for 40-50 bucks to Toys R Us, who sells it to us for a paltry
    150 bucks ^_^

P.S.: And the longer version of "Metropolis" is better also, since it has
    "One" included. :-)

P.S.2: Do you people remember that I said I found a new radio station
here? Well, it is the station of my dreams. Yesterday they played a
program called "Conexao Progressiva" (translating, it is something like
"Progressive Conection" and it is, of course, meant to play progressive
music). Guess what?!? They played 4 (FOUR) hours and a HALF of progressive
music. They even played a long Yes song (I think it has almost 20 minutes)
called "Gates of Dellirium" (is this correct???) and the DJ said it was
from an album called "Relayer". Well, they also played a song called
"Erpland", from an album called "Live Underlusky" (I think) by those guys
called Ozric Tentacles (WOW, this is a very beautiful song!). Summarizing:
    I think that I don't need CDs anymore. :-)))

True, Priority Mail is not too much different time-wise from regular first-class -- although the target is 2-3 days, they're careful to add it is NOT guaranteed. $3 for up to two pounds isn't bad at all, though.

The big difference is that the Post Office kindly provides the mailing envelopes (or boxes) free, and the standardized packaging and labelling makes it easier for them to process. When I begin shipping Superior's new CD later this year (for US customers who'd like to order it "from the band," as it were), I plan to offer Priority Mail service either as an option or as standard.

Well, this thread beats the knock-down-drag-outs going on here lately!

I should be a helluva singer, since I share my birthday with Bing Crosby and Lou Gramm. And I am, too, if you happen to enjoy the sound of frogs croaking. I was born on Bing's 50th birthday. I think Lou was 5 that day. Not sure - he never calls . . .

But I'm most proud of sharing the birthday of one of the most famous musicians in the years 2018 - 2050 (or so), the wonderful Melody Portnoy! (May 2)

Hmmm - if that comes true, she'll become famous "When I'm 64". hehe
