Hello, there. Here is the rest of DT Japanese tour report.:
---Jan. 13th---
At Nagoya Koseinenkin Hall. After moving to Nagoya by bullet train, they
entered to the venue and did the soundcheck.
They played 2 and a half hours at the stage. After the show, They went to
the Hard Rock Cafe.
(My comments)
KJL's voice was getting worse than last night. After the show, he said, "I
don't have a cold. I'm just tired."...I see. MP and DS seemed to be tired,
too. 'Cause I found lots of technical mistakes with their each performances
while a show. But I enjoyed a show. Especially, MP started to put one
interesting thing for fans in his drum solo time. He walk down to the front
stage as hitting one drum, and he gave a pair of drumsticks to a fan and
started to play a drum with a fan! He did with 3 fans each. That was one of
the special time for fans. JM and JP didn't seem to be tired as preferring
to the rest of DT. JM's stage action got much better than last 3 shows.
'Cause he walked toward far JP side of the stage (DS seemed to be amazed at
that.). The audience standing JP side were excited at that time!

---Jan. 14th---
At Osaka Koseinenkin Hall. They move to Osaka by bullet train like
yesterday. and after that, they entered to the venue and did the soundcheck.
Play time was the same as last night, 2 and a half hours. And James seemed
to be tired. They had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe again. Next day is
day-off, so they drank alcohol so much.
(My Comments)
KJL's voice reached to the top of the worst one tonight. I guess It's tough
for the band and crew to kick their tiredness out by themselves in the hard
schedule ...... But anyhow, the audience in Osaka was great. DT got a superb
reaction from the audience and they seemed to be happy with it. I love to
see the show in Osaka because of Osaka people's reaction. That night was the
first time DT played "Speak To Me" at the stage. While they a jazzy
improvised jam after "Just Let Me Breathe", a few of crew set up the another
drum set on the front-center side of the stage. And then, they played
"Hollow Years" and "Speak To Me"......of course MP played with this drum
set. That was interesting for me because I could watch his drum play really
close. DS seemed to spent the hard time to listen to his drum rhythm,
though. And James was standing on the front-left side of the stage in "HY"
and on the other side in "STM". Instead of them, JP was playing the guitar
on the other side of James in "HY", and JM was doing the bass on the other
side of James in "STM". They played these song by the same style at the last
show, too.

---Jan. 15th---
Day-off. We DUO staff reserved their seats of the bullet train for Tokyo so
as to get there at noon because we offered their requests that they wanted
to enjoy shopping afternoon. But in Tokyo, it snowed again! That bullet
train arrived to Tokyo almost 15 minutes left. But too-much snows made most
of shops closed. They were confused about snow again.
(One more info.)
I heard DS held one more keyboard clinic on this day, but I don't know he
could because of snow.
---Jan. 16th---
This was the last show, at Tokyo Koseinenkin Hall. On this day, they held
the show with quit different setlist comparing to the others. Play time was
about 2 hours. At the end of the show, they switched their own instruments
as follows:
JM on keyboards
JP on drums
DS on guitar
MP on bass
The audience seemed to enjoy it so much. After the show, all the DT family
went you the Korean barbecue restaurant located in Shinjuku and celebrated
the success about the Japanese tour there. The show was all over, so all the
members turned into the drunk guys. Even JM who doesn't drink alcohol
normally ordered Japanese sake.
(My Comments)
This show was the 2nd best show for me. And I thanked to Mike for playing a
drum with me in his drum solo time. KJL's voice was better than shows in
Nagoya and Osaka. They played "Trial of Tears" at the stage like a show in
Osaka. I didn't like this song when I heard that for the first time. But now
I love it. I think this song was one of their highlights of the shows in
Osaka and this show.
I think JP's stage action was much better through this tour than last tour.
He gets to know how to show fans himself at the stage better whenever he
played the guitar in front of the audience. Cool.
Finally In encore time, NIGHTMARE CINEMA was formed in Japan! Of course a
song was "Perfect Strangers". JM played the keyboards with a serious face.
JP did the drums with the same face as JM (sometimes), MP played the bass
and walked on stage, DS played the guitar and walked from side to side on
stage (he brought his own guitar in silver-lame.), and KJL sang the vocal
line with a smile...... The audience was lucky enough to see NC! Tonight was
an extra special ......!

("Suicide Solution" featured MP on vocal.)
---Jan. 17th---
This day is the shopping day that they needed and they went shopping from
morning. To Harajuku, Shinjuku, and they were busy for getting what they
wanted to get there. Because of that, KJL came back late to had an interview
which was supposed to be had at 1p.m.. After they got interviews till late
evening, they were headed to the Shabu-shabu restaurant. All the members
enjoyed eating shabu-shabu.
(One more info.)
They had an interview with MTV Japan this day. Probably, its interview will
air on MTV Japan soon.
---Jan. 18---
They went home separately for spending each day-off. DS was headed to L.A.,
KJL to Canada, MP, JM, and JP to N.Y.. After 1 month day-off, they will go
to Europe for European tour.
---Well, that's all. Sorry for my awful English. I guess you had to spend
the time to understand what I put down...... But I hope you Jammers enjoy
with this report. Thanks for reading.

Point for the title!
>As a huge Queensryche fan, I feel the need to express my views on
>where Queensryche will go without Chris DeGarmo.
And I'll just respond a little.
>Can they survive without DeGarmo? Yes, they can. You don't
>believe me? Who wrote the songs Revolution Calling, Speak,
>Spreading the Disease, Screaming in Digital, Roads to Madness,
>Empire, etc.? There are a lot of songs which Wilton has written
>for the band. The past two albums have been dominated with

>he has written isn't the greatest stuff from QR. Michael Wilton
>has written about 10-15 songs which haven't been used on the past
>2 albums, and look for some of those to be on the next album.
Yeah, and if you take a peek at that list, you'll find that, lo and behold,
Adam's favorite Queenryche songs are in there (particularly the
aformentioned "Roads to Madness," which is AWESOME. I liked the team, I
always have, and DeGarmo is an extremely talented musician. But the rest
of the band is awfully damn good, too.
>And, look for the next album to be _very heavy_. Heavy in the terms
>that it will very hard rockin'! The new album is about 50% already
>and _might_ be a concept album.
I think it's a good guess. I dunno about very heavy, but heavier seems a
safe bet. I wouldn't look for another record that sounds like the EP or
something.
>Lyrically, QR will always be strong. They have Geoff Tate, and I
>would venture to say that he's one of the best lyricists out there.
Agreed.
>And, whoever the replacement for DeGarmo will be, it doesn't matter
>too much. Queensryche has always been changing their sound, and a
>new mind in the band will make them that much more diverse. I'm sure
>they will make the right choice as to who would make the best
>chemistry for the band.
I dunno about that. I agree with the party line -- I think Bettencourt
would be a poor fit in the band...stylistically, as tremendous a player as
he is, his strength wouldn't blend well with the band's sound. I agree
that Rabin would probably sound pretty good with them, but I think they
might be better off with a good, younger player.

ROTFLMAO! (Ouch, I think I pulled a muscle.) That was the funniest thing
I've seen on the Jam in some time. :) So many people take this list too
seriously, and we have to deal with the never ending cynicism and
argumentitiveness (dammit, it's a word now!) of people like Chris Ptacek

they will give it to me and if it's worth it? The King's X

It's a real "solo" album: Michael Romeo is playing every instrument (guitar,
bass, keyboard and drum programming), and a song is played by a member of
Symphony X (I can't remember if is the K or D)

Are you sure it's the same Chaos Theory we've been talking about? Cause
Chaos Theory (the one Matt Guillory is in) does not have a CD. They have

Alright, but I still think there are people who want the whole package. Not maybe to the point that they'd throw out the CD if they lost the case, but....
> What's wrong with chiming in to let people know that they can save a >few bucks? These messages haven't been about "You're an idiot for >paying X for that cd..." Get with the picture.
Ummm...that's *exactly* how most of those posts were coming across. I didn't see a single one that said "Hey, I can make you a copy/know where you can get a copy cheaper", it was "Don't let that suckbird rip you off" or "Anyone who pays that much for that is an idiot" or some other such sentiment (or at least, that's how they came across).

..And thanks for taking that out of context. The part you quoted was simply a lead in for the joke about the blank pages. All this talk about 7-string guitars has gotten me thinking. (An AOL user? Thinking? Alert Dr. Mosh!) Is there anyone on this list that learned to play guitar on a 7-string? If there is, he or she must have quite a bit of money to throw around, because, as I understand it, they cost a minimum of $400. I mean, seriously, who's going to pay that for something they don't know how to play? Maybe it's just me, but I started the way I bet most people on this list started: with a reasonably inexpensive ($105, to be exact) guitar. (obviously mine was an acoustic. it's a piece of shit, really. I wish I had known enough at the time to have made sure the thing had a metal rod in the neck. Now it's all warped and the action's horrible) I wonder what someone who started on a 7-string guitar's style would sound like...
Also, since there's been a bit of controversy over Chris Ptacek's actual guitar skills, I have a proposition to make. Chris, if you'll find it in your heart, make us Jammers an MP3 of you playing something fairly difficult, and post it somewhere on the 'net. I'm really interested to hear how good you are. This isn't a challenge, since I'm sure that, if I challenged you, you'd whup my sorry ass. I'm just curious, that's all.
