Hello,
I remember seing a thread quite a few months ago about tattoos..
well I got mine as a bday present from myself to me. It's the heart
covered in barb wire from I&W, but looks more like a heart and the
flames look really good! there is also blood dripping from the heart and
the DT logo implemented in the flames.. I can't even describe how good
it looks.. the guy said it's one of the best he has ever seen.. and this
guy came in second for best Tattoest (sp) in Canada.. so that really
rocks.
bye for now

Progfest 1999! Now here is a true dream tour.
Could you imagine 12 outdoor shows in carefully selected locations
spanning the fruited plains? I sure could. Here's my dream band list:
To open at 11 Am, Chroma key (1hr set)- Platypus (1hr set)- Liquid Tension
Experiment (1 hr set)- Rudess Morgenstein Project (1hr set)- King Crimson
(2hr set)- Fates Warning (2hr set)- Kings X (2hr set)- Dream Theater (3hr set).
This would take one hell of a road crew and probably two stages.
Hey, why not a two day event? Invite Angra, symphony X, Savatage,
Vanden Plas, Galactic Cowboys, Yngwie Malmsteen, And Yes.
Mr. Portnoy.... Make this dream a reality, PLEASE! Yeah it's a lot
to ask, but wouldn't that f*#kin' rule?

Hey there, considering the Queensryche thread I wonder if I'm the only one who things everyrtime I listen to O:M: 'Gee, this is just outstanding songwriting, but it would be much better if they'd found the right button for the BASS!' Really, they obviously forgot to add some serious bass. Just take the following albums. They have a superb production. Just imagine AWAKE with a bad production as O:M... I bet it would lose a lot of its 'Whooaa!'- Effect that comes to my mind everytime I listen to it after all the listens before. Has anybody the same thoughts or is this just a misprint as our European LTE versions?

I'm was checking out a prog site on the net and I came across a new-ish prog band called PAIN OF SALVATION. The reviews of their album ENTROPIA were really positive. Do any of you know about this band?

www.savatage.com lists the Mind Over Matter festival in Graz, Austria on July 4 as one of the tour dates. However, I haven't been able to find out anything on the festival itself (tix, prices, length of Sava's set, etc.) apart from the fact that it lasts at least 2 days (July 4-5) and at least 3 other bands are playing (Cradle of Filth, Stuck Mojo, Clawfinger). Can anyone point me to information? Thanks.

]From my perspective, back in 1985 when 'Rage For Order' was released there was nothing quite like it, the album was as they say 'way ahead of it's time' . Plus the fact the the band try something new with each album they make, that in my bookmake them just as 'progressive' as DT, Garth Brookes or Neil Diamond..... Eeeer, oops :)

Anyone who is into musicians with a lot of talent, technique, and skill (probably everyone here since DT exemplifies these qualities) should check out the Flecktones. You might not like them because they are not prog. However, if you can get past the "I only listen to songs in 9/8" attitude, you will discover that Bela Fleck and the Flecktones produce some great instrumental music, and sing on the new CD for a couple of songs. Besides, that Victor Wooten is one mean motherfucker on the bass. :) I've said it before and I'll say it again: he can outshine Myung any day. And Bela has put the banjo in a whole new light.
Email me if you have any questions about this killer band.

Arrrgh...Screw the triple album. Give me a damn box set with live video!!! No smiley here. I'm totally serious!!!! I wanna see JP's guitar faces. :) Hey...let's lobby for a concert DVD with 5.1 digital channel audio. That way we can isolate each member from different camera angles. Not only would we get JP the ham. We'd get MP's loogies, KJLB sticking out his tongue, Derek "Elvis the Pelvis" Sherinian, and JM's... uh...long hair, I guess.

Believe it or not, I'm going to have to disagree here.
Marco, if you are into Symphonic ProgMETAL and Symphonic PowerMETAL, then I suggest you run, don't walk to your nearest computer terminal, and order Symphony X NOW!
Spock's Beard is very prog, but not metal at all, so I'm not sure it's something you would get into. Of course I'm not one to turn anyone away from Spock's Beard, so go ahead and check them out if you feel like it, but only AFTER you get Symphony X. Stratovarius is okay too, but they're no Symphony X... that is just my OPINION so please, no one get their feathers in a ruffle.
