Terri Bozzio did a project with Tony Levin and Steve Stevens, called Black
Light Syndrome. The drummer in my band had this and let me borrow it. It's
pretty cool, but I don't think it's quite as good as LTE.

French metal magazines speculate a lot on who will be the new
Queensryche guitarist ; their suggestions are : Nuno Bettencourt, Reb
Beach, Alex Skolnik, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai. They
should fix their crystal ball.
Eric Johnson in Queensryche!!!???????? What kind of pot were those french

Hey everyone,
Just one thing to add to the side projects list...Derek played on a couple
of tracks on "To Cry You a Song," the Jethro Tull tribute album on Magna
Carta. It's a pretty good CD...Trent Gardner of Magellan does a flawless
rendition of Ian Anderson's voice on "Aqualung."

Greetings ye 'jamanoids...
After Trevor told us about having to wait 6 weeks for a Laser's Edge order, Tim remarked: > I feel your pain. :) The wait for huge CD orders can seem like an > eternity. I don't know whether Trevor did or not, but I ordered six discs from the Edge over a month ago via credit card. I called to place the order and reserve the discs; all the ones I ordered at the time were in stock when I placed it.
I'm thinking that the next time I order from the Laser's Edge, I'll send them a check instead. Ken may be snowed under with credit card orders (I understand, having to run several hundred every day myself), but if that's so then he needs to stop accepting CCs or hire some more people. A month-6 week turnaround time is kind of ridiculous, especially when people who order via check have it in a week or two.

Yes, they're very heavy. They do a lot of moderately slow, heavy guitar riffs that are usually contrasted with piano or keyboard. I'm not sure who to compare them to; they don't really sound like anybody else.

That's easy - they only have one, called "Behind". Although I understand they're working on material for a second album...

OK, as one who has done a prog rock show, i must throw in something here. Def Leopard and tesla? Are they prog? Or is this a mix of prog, metal, and prog metal? Chris, you know I think you are the man, and I hate to criticize, but ... what is this?

I must agree with MATt (aka James Tedesco? :-) in saying that I've found Enchant to be rather dull. It is of course, decent music, and better than anything you're bound to hear on pop radio, but in comparison to some of the other prog metal out there, it's not at all exciting. MATt had 'Wounded'; I have the above mentioned 'Blueprint' and have found it to be mediocre. It just doesn't move me by any stretch of the imagination, IMO. Shadow Gallery, however, are great. A little bit cheesy in some of the lyrics, and yes, the production is poor, but the music and group vocals kick some major butt. Very powerful. I'll also admit that 'Ghostship' isn't my favorite long piece in the world, due to some kind of dull points in the middle, but CiS remains an amazing album w/o 'Ghostship' (which still has a number of great parts to it) and well worth the investment. I can't start listening to the album without listening all the way through 'Alaska'. I was quite disappointed to hear that the new album has been pushed back to September. I'm hoping that this was a misinterpretation on my part. Anyway... -Topher
