Personaly, I think Sebastian Bach has some of the best vocals
on the Working Man album, especially with Jacob's Ladder and
the harmonies. IMO, better than LaBrie's work on Red Barchetta,
though I'm not taking that away from LaBrie. And let's not
even talk about Mark Slaughter on there.........hoo-fa!

Actually, I'm almost positive that Mr. Bach has also had and
maybe still has operatic training as well. Both of them have
similar voice styles in a sense, especially with their vibrato
(being it fluctuates pitch-wise in a similar range). Both of
them have a diverse vocal range. James has the advantage with
his softer voice (it's "prettier", for lack of a better word),
whereas Sebastian has the advantage when it comes to power and
conveyance of emotion when he sings. Both of them have a clean
sounding voice and a "growly voice", and both of them kick ass.
I happen to prefer Sebastian particularly because of his clarity
of words. James' enunciation of words bothers me every once in
a while, esp. when he sings the word "milennium" in NM, as an
example.
Plus, I don't see the problem discussing things like this. I
don't think it would be an insult to James to discuss who
would be good enough to replace him in case he left. Hell,
I would love to be put in the same group as Sebastian Bach,
or Bruce Dickinson (in his heyday). It's not like the
people here are saying "Man, James sucks, who can we find to
replace him when we get our petition to axe him to go through."
We all know that KJLB rox nadz.

Hi Ytsejammers
I'am writing from Argentina, and I've read about the August 6 concert
but I don't know if this are true dates about it. I've read about it on
DP
Highway Star Page and in one of the DT pages.
If the dates I know are correct maybe I can travel to see the shows
but I don't know how to buy the tickets. So if you found some info tell
me please.
David.

Wow, DT playing Monument. What a great idea. Except for this tour,
where we want DT preferrably to play their own stuff. Still, I'd love

Hello ytsejammers from a mostly lurker...
Well, after 4 or so years, I finally got to see DT live. Every time
before, I seemed to be on some business trip which kept me away. This
time was no exception. I came back into the country, expecting to see DT
in Houston, only to find that the show was cancelled. Was this strictly
a venue problem? Many acts have avoided Houston, more than likely due to
the assholes who promote down here and the local radio stations who
refuse to play any decent music (or so I was told when Faith No More did
not come here).
Caravan of Dreams...This was a great show! I was totally depressed after
the show...2.5 hours was not enough! I have truly been deprived for 4
years!
My First (Live) Impressions:
JLB was great (and really in front of the mix). Just forget this thread
about some other singer...he is THE VOICE for DT.
JP ("Petrucki"); Is there anything to say? Totally awesome. My idea of
the real G3 is Morse, Johnson and Petrucci. I can't wait for the
DT/DP/ELP concert.
MP: Totally awesome, totally entertaining. I understand now some of the
old references to his stage behavior. He nailed JP and JLB a few times.
I guess he might be left handed since that is where most of the spit
went. Or maybe JM/DS would kick his butt if he tossed one their
direction.
DS: wow, he really wails. Unfortunately, I could not see him very well
from where I was standing. Cool lava lamps.
JM: Again, could not see him, which was a major disappointment for me
since I probably would have been watching his every fret move. I guess
his stage personality does not let him break out too often. How about a
solo for JM?
I looked for R Whitacker to thank him for the 7 Wonders comp, but I
guess he got in too late from Lubbock. I said hello to a few
ytsejammers, but I did not know any of them. Perhaps next time.
John

My uncle has been out of the music loop for several years, but he did
listen to ELP back in his day and he told me recently that Keith Emerson
invented the mellotron. Is he misinformed?

Hell yeah! I'm all for it. Let's see...DT already did a cover of Tori's
Winter. That wouldn't be that bad of a duet for them.
Any tool fans here? MJK from Tool did a duet with Tori last year to one of
her tunes. I don't know how many Tori fans there are here on the
jam...anybody favor this idea? I would be smiling for weeks.
