Wellll, I love FII...but after thousands of listens and a good year's +
worth of quality time with my copy, I prefer the RAW POWER AND CRUNCH OF
AWAKE!!!! ***RRAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH*** Plus that whole theme of going
through a day in the life of a schizophrenic is so easy for me to relate
to. :) I mean, come on...I wake up to Mike Portnoy's wiggidy whack beat

    true to life, so true....

    > But does anybody know WHY DeGarmo left?

Saying he LEFT Queensryche is like saying uh.... Well, ok, he got his
ass booted while he was still too high to know what was going on. He
still thinks he's in Queensryche, but he's so drugged up...I saw him on
Mill Ave. in Tempe, AZ wandering the streets aimlessly in a pink and
yellow tu-tu singing, "MOTHER MARRRRRRRRRRRRRYY MARRRRRRRRRRRRY
JAAAAAAAAAAANE! Whoa, bitchin' headrush....you got some weed?"

Word from our pals in the Queensryche camps (Oh what a lovable bunch of
fans they are; anybody who was with me online at the last QR online
interview knows exactly what i mean) is that the new album is supposed
to rock nice and heavily ala Operation:Mindcrime and Empire. I'm not

That's one gripe I've also had about Magna Carta but never seen anyone
    here mention, until now...

It is directly one of the main reasons why I've never really been albe
to get into bands like Enchant and Lemur Voice. Both these are obviously
extremely musically talented and have more chops than the local butcher,
but the production, for me, hampers the overall album.

I do like both Enchant and Lemur Voice, but with a crunchier production
I feel 'A Blueprint Of The World' and "Insights' could be better.

    Cheerin'

    Luke.

PS. For an album that I thoughy may have relied a little too much on
production effects to carry it along, APSOG performed live in Still Life
proved me horribly wrong, this album kicks arse something chronic.

Aw, man, now that just sucks. Here I am, stuck in Boston, and the only thing
I can get that's even close to a good 80's band is the Human League/Howard
Jones/Culture Club tour. Meanwhile, out in Seattle, friggin' FLOCK OF
    SEAGULLS is playing one-shots.

I might just have to up and move, man... this sucks.

Anyways, on to matters that people on the jam might appreciate more than my
fascination with John Hughes movies and Molly Ringwald...

I was listening to "Show me what you can do" (Steve Smith, Frank Gambale,
Stu Hamm) with my roomie last night, and it came to me - as if in a vision -
that this album, which I previously panned as not being as good as "Vital
Tech Tones" (Steve Smith, Scott Henderson, Victor Wooten) is just friggin'
unreal. Hit me like a ton of bricks right over the head as soon as the first
song came on. Maybe it's because, for the first time, I listened to it on my
home stereo instead of my car (I have a pretty good system in my car, but my
home system recently got the addition of two more speakers to make the sound
just HUGE). Anyone who is a fan of any of the members, or just wants
something new to groove on, should get either of these two albums (and
bassists take note - Stu's solo in song #3 of SMWYCD [don't have the CD here
    with me] is just jaw-dropping).

unfortunately I got a second copy of OiaL (and I had to pay for both) so
there's one I'd like to sell. This is especially interesting for german and
    european jammers:

    Price: 32,- DM within Gemany
           35,- DM within Europe

THIS PRICES INCLUDE SHIPPING!!! As I had to pay 49,90 DM for the 2CD I think
    it's a fair price.

Please contact me privately if you're interested. Thanks.

But Satch's music is much simpler, and doesn't seem to require many 12th note fills. Just my opinion though :) More groove, less chops. >

I guess it's entirely an opinion thing, but I don't get the "groove" feel when I listen to CP. I just kinda see it as keeping the beat so Satch doesn't have to use a metronome (that's going a little far, but my point is across :) )...
