During my last meal I'd have to listen to Bill Hicks'
Rant in E Minor, cause when I go to the chair, I want
to go pissed. And Bill would make me glad to leave
humanity. Not that I'm not already.

If it had to be music, give me PE's It Takes a Nation
of Millions to Hold Us Back.

It's annoying as hell. When Titanic came out, I was thinking like
'Cameron/Horner? This has got to me amazing, just like the Aliens
Cameron/Horner cooperation.' But then they have to go and spoil it by
putting in the latest Celine Dion ballad in there somewhere. Surely the
makers of that film were rich enough already not to spin an easy listening
single off it, although the song wasn't that bad, it still corrupts an
otherwise perfectly decent film (apparently anyway; I still haven't seen it,
this was just an example anyway).

My question is this: if it is about the Rush we all know and love, why was this book published in 1930?

Anyway, I got Younique yesterday. Thanks Pam!!! I havent listened to it carefully yet, but I think this is going to be a pretty awesome disc. The thing I like about it after first listen is the variety. Superior isnt putting out another Behind (which would have been just fine with me), they are moving forward and testing the boundries. Kudos to all bands that do that, INCLUDING DT. You may not like it, but you have to respect it. In this case, I think Im going to love it.

Also got Symphony X: Twilight in Olympus. Romeo still does a great impression of Cartman on the inside cover, but DAMN can this guy shred. I love their mix of classical style with progressive.

Has anyone tried sending money to Autumn Leaf Records for the Spock's Beard Bootleg but received their envelope back with a big "RETURN TO SENDER" stamp on it? Stamp was on there, along with the correct address, checked it a thousand times, but it didnt go through...Have no idea why. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Bye all

    Greetings ye 'jamanoids.......

Mark P. remarked: >I have read Tolkien's Hobbit, which is an EXCELLENT novel, a LONG time ago. >I had never focused on the fact that it was part of series of 3 books.

It is not. "The Hobbit" is a precursor to the actual Lord of the Rings trilogy, which includes:

    I. "The Fellowship of the Ring" II. "The Two Towers" III. "The Return of the King"

    >I guess I'll have to turn down the music and get my head into that book.

Nah, you don't need to turn it down. But you do need to get into Tolkien's stuff more. Everybody does. :) :)

    Ta, Phil

Gee, as one of the older jammers, I have fond memories of sitting on the front porch listening to RUSH on the old wireless, but I didn't think they were THAT OLD (1930!!!) No wonder it's SO CHEAP!

I am very disappointed in humanity. Why is it that people are so willing to partake in stupid debates so heatedly (por ejemplo, who should replace James LaBrie, for those of you who remember that thread), but are so unwilling to help someone in need? A few days ago, I posted an email asking for help on a journalism article I have to write about DT. And you know what? Not one person wrote back. This is such a letdown, so I hope this mailing list modulater would cancel this subscription out of a little bit of pity, at least.

"mailing list modulater"? isn't that what marvin the martian tried to use to blow up the earth?

"it's my plutonium, skadz-a-riffic space modulator!"

and if you can subscribe, you can unsubscribe. it's the same goddam process. deal with it.

now, for a more musical note... i saw candlebox play last thursday night (tempus is swell). i had very low expectations, but was glad to have my ass blown away. kevin martin is a very charismatic and talented frontman. and he's also the only person i know who can scream just like david lee roth. they covered a bit of runnin' with the devil. it was frightening. dave krusen (pearl jam, ten) is a good fit for these guys on drums. i highly suggest checking these guys out if they come to your township.

    i'm out. peace.

    Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone out there knew if JP was still doing lessons for GW. He doesn't seem to have any new ones on GW online. I'm stuck here in the Philippines where we don't always get GW, and when we do, you can't really look inside, because they seal the thing in plastic. So...there's why I can't just look in the GW at the store. Anyhow, thanks in advance.

I watched Kubrik's 2001 today and finding that mauricio asked what the hell does the movie mean I want to share my thoughts about the movie so you could tell me how wrong I am.....let's see...

I think the whole point of the movie is that life is a cycle, isn't it? I mean it starts with the Big Bang and at the end of the movie you can see a lifeform die and a newone born, also there's the second explosion (which is really an implosion that cientifics say will happen in the future and will absorb everything on the universe) I dont remember the name of the implosion but is big something....it is supposed that the universe is expanding since the big bang, one day it will stop expanding and will start to compress until it implodes....I guess the movie's message is that maybe it will be another big bang after that as it is other new lifeforms after others die.... it's all a cycle...uhm...I guess I said it all twice.....well, any other interpretations? --- MP3 of the week - "The Ben Stiller Show Theme" By Dweezil Zappa http://www.geocities.com/CollegePark/2025/
