Except that (At least on Theli) the choir and orchestral stuff is quite
average ho-hum, nothing special. I could do better. :P Therion should stick
to Rock stuff. the 3 bonus "basic rock" tracks on Theli were twice as good
as anything else on the album. ><
Pick up their '98 release, Vovin. that opinion'll change.

If you listen closely to the songs you will recognize some of the themes
throughout all of the songs. They reappear time to time. IMHO that=B4s

I never thought I'd hear anyone describe Eric Adams as having a deep
voice... ah well. Actually I think Adams is right up there with Labrie as
far as pitch and range goes, he just a very different style. As a matter of
fact I think Labrie actually goes deeper than Adams on LtL.. blah.

5. Keys: Jens Johansson

But I do think they could also be good with a talented deep voiced

There are two bands by the name of Gordian Knot! Beware! To see for yourself, check out http://www.gordianknot.net which features a New Jersey based sextet of rock-and-rollers.
This is NOT, I repeat NOT the widely heralded band/project that features John Myung, Trey Gunn (of King Crimson), Ron Jarzombek (of Watchtower, Spastic Ink) and a member of Cynic, among others.
I was a little confused when I first found that web-page. It pops right up when you check Yahoo! Maybe the Gordian Knot supergroup (the cool one) should advertise a web-page of their own before more confusion ensues.
------------ On a similar note, every once and a while people mention the band Incubus on the 'jam. There's two of them too. One is a VERY Evil Black Metal band and the other is a really awesome light-hearted funk metal band (the one we've talked about).
Later!
- Dr. Teeth, making every attempt to calm the crowds before a riot ensues.

here's something that bothers me....
lately I've been buying remastered versions of bands like rush and yes and there are lots of other artists that have been reissuing new remastered versions of their releases...
what i want to know is this... why didnt they remaster for the compact disc when it was first introduced? they had this new format that could offer better resolution and they didnt even bother to go back and remaster the music before they released it on cd? I would think that they would constantly be working to make sure all the material they (labels/distributors) they were putting out to the public sounded as good as it can?
or is it just know that the technology has come available?
just something I was thinking about.

just thought I'd let people know....
there is a new version of AOL Instant Messanger that allows the user to set up a directory on their harddrive that is accesible to the people on their buddy list for downloading. This may be useful to people who are trading MP3's with people to check out bands or let other people hear samples... this way you can leave it there and let someone download it at their leisure. You still have to be logged on and the computer turned on of course but you can always put it on AWAY. This is better for peope who may not have much ftp space on their provider. like myself.
factoids for all!!!

Primarily, it's that, but probably also that a lot of the first CD issues were basically dumped from the master tapes, or sometimes even second or third-gen tapes in order to get the material on the new format. Later on, many artists heard the CDs and discovered that the sound was crap (sometimes. some old CD issues weren't too bad) and decided to have them remastered. A prime example of this is the King Crimson remasters...EG Records rushed the back catalog onto CD and ended up with some poor sounding CDs. Robert Fripp found out about it, and during a relative lull in his career, remastered the albums with Tony Arnold. However, albums are remastered for other reasons as well, such as for simply making money, as is the case with many anniversary edition remasters. Usually the artist is not involved in those ventures.
