I remember once when I was listening to LTE2 and Acid Rain was on, my friend asked to listen to it, he heard it for about 2 seconds (typical extremely short attention span) and said "dude, that music sounds like something from my F-Zero video game"
Also, does anyone else think that the boss music from FInal Fantasy 7 sounds like something Yngwie Malmsteen would write? all it needs is double bass...(which I tried to modify in cakewalk, but I couldnt access the midi files the game uses).

Lots of jammers amaze me for lots of different reasons. There are plenty
of incredibly intelligent people, specializing in all soorts of varied
fields of interests, who I could learn a lot from. Others, though, amaze
me for less flattering reasons. Still, they can provide comic relief, if
nothing else. Take this guy:

OK, so, we've heard this how many times? The same tired old story, and
explicitly banned to boot. But then:

I'm 99% sure that the movie Partha was referring to is "The Last
Broadcast". I haven't seen it myself, but here's a link to it at
Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1929688008/qid%3D934235550/002-2766997-4793244
Damnit that's a long link. hehe
As far as the Blair Witch Project goes...... I really recommend anybody
with an open mind checks this movie out. My friend and I both loved it,
although I have to admit alot of people (especially the teenagers in the
show) were loudly bitching about the lack of violence/gore, and saying
it "should have been rated G" and "was pointless and stupid", etc. etc.
etc.
Ah well, to each his own. :)

Ha! Pretty funny, and accurate! Not much more needs to be said than that...
(In other words, wait for the video. And when you do rent the video, turn off the sound and crank up some Dream Theater. Will make for a much better film. Take my word on it. The mystery of not knowing what they're saying will be much better than the horrible reality.)

Hey all.. I figured that I would start off with a few predictions on the new album. They are: That it will be TOTALLY original. Metropolis 2 will not be featured on this album and it will be followed up next year with a "ACOS" type EP with the song in its original form. However, my plea is multi-parted: 1. This is a simple one, revert back to the original font of the DT name. They have gone back to being more progressive, why not go back to the original font! I know this seems like a albeit simple request, but it means a lot to me. I really HATE the font of the most current album (FII) and would love to see it return. 2. Have a truly expanded tour of the USA. I can't count how many people that I have talked to on here and abroad that really want to see DT but they only seem to play 1. major cities or 2. primarily the eastern seaboard. It would be truly fantastic if DT could do an "Awakeish" tour schedule on this new album. 3. Make sure that this tour includes dates in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. : ) So I can see them twice!! : )
I cannot wait for the new album. The date is marked on my calender to remind me to go to the store that day! Jammers,
I was searching through www.MP3.com where I found this killer prog band in the heavy metal section. They blew me away. Their composition and haunting riffs really caught me off guard. They have a CD released but it is an instrumental and I think they just rescently found a singer so the next CD will have volcals. They are from Finland, their name is "Lost In Twilight". Their official site is:
http://www.uwasa.fi/~g77765/lost/indexi.htm
If you want faster downloads of their songs go to:
http://www.mp3.com/artists/9/lost_in_twilight.html
I don't know the band personally but I will try to help them out cause they just plain kick ass. And they are very prog.
Later Jammers, Justin Sepulveda

Just in case anyone was wondering -
the movie made in 1997 (released in '98) that Blair Witch has an ENORMOUS amount of similarities to is called "The Last Broadcast."
It should be out on video at the end of August - even has its own website, though I forget the actual URL. (try www.thelastbroadcast.com or www.lastbroadcast.com)
BWP, by the way, is a RE-MAKE (though the filmmakers haven't yet said anything about this as far as I know) of an old 1979 Italian horror movie called "Cannibal Holocaust." Obviously the new movie replaced the cannibal plot with a witch, but virtually everything is the exact same. Same "documentary" presentation, same "they found the footage a year later..." except there is a subplot about a tribe of natives that a rescue team encounters when looking for the original footage. One of the most gory films ever made, too. I've read that the director actually had to go to court to testify that some of the special effects were not real corpses.
