Hi, time for one of my bimonthly Jam posts (and to think I used to
place in the Top 10 MFP list regularly... :))

Anyway, fate has landed an advance copy of Type O's WORLD COMING DOWN in my
hands (I think it's due out in September ?). I'll play some (or all)
of it during my Ytseradio show this Wed. afternoon, 2pm-4pm US Eastern
time (as always, server and Net conditions willing), so if your
musical tastes range that far, tune in! :)

Please "check in" on the #ytseradio IRC channel so I can judge
the amount of interest; I'll play the whole thing if people want.
If not, then it's back to the usual Ozrics/Dead Can
    Dance/Godhead/Changelings/Symphony X/Dimmu Borgir and even,
    occasionally, DT. :)

Info on Ytseradio and how to "tune in" to the Realaudio stream is at
    www.ytseradio.com.

Regarding my post yesterday about the new Type O Negative songs, here's their official titles:

    1. Creepy Green Light 2. Pyretta Blaze

I've only gotten one offer to put them in MP3 format for all y'all to download, and he's in Denmark while I reside in the States. By the time the tape got there, the album would be out! ;) Can someone within snail-mailing distance help me out? I think these songs really deserve to be on the net!

    - Dr. Teeth

P.S. I also can makes tapes if anybody would like a copy.

I know that nobody else cares, but there's a club in Auburn, AL, that comfortably holds about 1,000 people (sound familiar, anyone who's ever been to Birch Hell?), called the War Eagle Supper Club. Government Mule played there recently. It sure would be schweeet if DT played there on the next tour :) I bet DT has never even been to Alabama.

Also, the guys who made BWP have never been horror fans. I don't see how anyone who is not an avid horror fan would know about "Cannibal Holocaust" unless they were lucky enough to find it at their local video store. This movie was an experiment, and the directors have said that they probably won't make another horror movie (read the article in Fangoria - not the latest issue, but the one before it). Their next movie will probably be a comedy.

I would have to go back and check, but I think the Fango artice mentioned "Cannibal Holocaust." Regardless, BWP is a breath of fresh air in a genre that has been stale for years. So, in reference to your clever subject line ("Blair Witch Proj... Prog???"), I would say that yes, it is a prog movie.

Take care, everyone, Mark Peters epididymisle@earthlink.net

PS - based on the wonderful job that Artisan did with the DVD release of "Pi," I eagerly await the goodies that should be included on the DVD release of BWP. If only the South Park DVD could have some of the footage that was cut....

Though I haven't seen either movie (I'm wating until BWP comes out on video, then I'm gonna watch it in the house. Alone. With no lights on WHATSOEVER), I did happen once upon an interesting - for lack of a better term - review/description of Cannibal Holocaust. I wouldn't go so far to say that BWP is a remake, but I would say that they did liberally borrow the pretense.

I think you either got the movie or you didn't I remember seeing it and some teenagers saying that it was a stupid movie. I guess if you have a decent imagination, you'll appreciate the movie.

I saw it a second time this past weekend and the movie wasn't as scary. Did this happen to anyone else? I assume that I'm just becoming desensitized to it. Oh well, I still get a little scared at night with all the lights off. :)

i watched a documentary about Richard Wagner this afternoon (the famous german composer who lived in 19th century). That was just one episode of series called "The Great Composers"... i think it`s done by BBC and at the beggining of every episode Stephen Hawking says a few words (that famous physicist who is in the wheelchair, speaks with the help of a computer - hint: Pink Floyd - The Division Bell, track "Keep Talking"). anyhow, Wagner was working for 26 years on an opera called The Ring of Nibelung which is 15 hours long, consists of 4 "smaller" operas. And he wanted to build a theater especiallly for performing his own works, actually The ring... and some british history proffesor while talking about it said something like: "Wagner wanted to build his own theater, which would be built by his plans. It was suppose to be a "dream theater". :-))) And they mentioned the very well known "term" to all of us a few more times during the episode... they never built the "dream theater" of which he dreamt. It was suppose to be built in Munchen... in the end they made a theater but not the one Wanger wanted and certainly not in Munchen. just thought this was interesting... :-)) tomorrow is the episode about Mozart... :-)

p.s. We have our "Dream Theater" built already, don`t we Mike?

I finally saw BWP last night for the first time...and I must say that I was kind of disappointed...but mainly because I'd heard so much from people already. Film wise I think it's brilliant...but it didn't spook me like everyone said it would. However as soon as this flick comes out on video, a friend and I are going to dub in various types of music throughout the whole thing just to see if it makes it more intense...for example some Really fast thrash at the end scene...like Slayer or Pantera would have scared the living shit out of me. That should make for some fun :) I do reccomend the movie though to those who haven't seen it...but go in mentally set that it's real

Aha! So I wasn't the only one! Believe me, I am far from your mainstream movie-goer but this movie just did not scare me. I really admire the concept, and the creativity in which the movie was filmed, but it never spooked me at all (and no I was not expecting some Friday the 13th shock bullshit). I will however admit that the last ten minutes were pretty creepy, and the in-character hyping of the film, backstory and all is intensely interesting... imo anyway. I too believe that people should see this thinking it's real, probly a lot more convincing.
