The original was written about the same time as Met I and LtL... Petrucci
wasn't using his six string until the Awake sessions. The ACOS on the EP
was reworked to accomodate the use of the 7-string.

I think the main reason there isn't as much DT related articles is maybe
because the new CD hasn't come out yet and they aren't touring. I am sure
plenty of people will post comments on how the live shows are and the CD and
all that. Just wait till October if you want more DTC.

    Later,

One person's suck is another's masterpiece. Instead of giving us a "suck" or "rules", how about describing them. Tell us how it sounds, as well as whether you like it. So you're opinion wasn't idiotic, just invalidated. Not that it wasn't right, but opinions don't count for shit if you don't say why you feel that way.

Ok, to end this discussion all together I'm going to give a shot at explaining why I don't like Lost in Twilight. It was of course stupid of me to only state my opinion without providing any explanation as to why I feel this way. I shouldn't have lowered myself to the level of the hundreds of jammers that regularly do the exact same thing. Anyway, here it goes.

When I first heard Lost in Twilight I thought it sounded like an amateur band. I played a couple of gigs with my band on some "rock nights" arranged by the youth centers when I was 15 and Lost in Twilight really reminded me of the bands who played at these concerts - 15 year old amateurs.

The guitar distortion was also horrible and it resembled the sound on one of my bands early demos. And finally, I think Lost in Twilingt are about as tight as a 50 year old hooker. I only listened to a couple of songs though and I'm going to add a BIG IMHO.

    Cheers!

Your failure to comprehend the simplest of sentences is astounding! What I meant was, don't make this into a big argument. But I'm afraid it's too late for that now. And as far as the menstruating remark, I am a male and don't menstruate, maybe you should pick up a biology book? And that remark has been done about 300 times here already. Come up with something more original.

As far as I know, he didn't have the 7-string until after the release of I&W. So it would have been all 6-string on the original ACOS. Plus, I think I remember reading in Guitar Shop mag an interview before ACOS was released where he said that he was changing a lot of the parts to use the 7-string more.

Then again, maybe he had the 7-string, but the B string got mad and ran off, so they started yelling "don't go!". Then when they were in the studio it came back, so they didn't have to say it anymore.

Or maybe I should just have my morning dose of caffeine before I try to post something.

as long as we're bitchin' about where DT stops along their tours, I'd just like to throw in my $.02. Toad's Place, in New Haven, CT is a great venue if yer over 21, but if you're a young whippersnapper such as myself (and several other Connecticut DT fans) you have to keep behind a big ol' net on the extreme right of the stage. I went to a DT show there in december, and Derek & James were the only members who were actually visible for most of the show. At the end I lifted my 5'4" freind up so he could actually see what DT looked like. I know that tour scheduling is complicated business, and if DT stops at Toad's, i WILL go see 'em, but I'm begging that they TRY to get a different CT venue. Um, actually they were in Lubbock in May of '98. Unfortunately 10 hours was a bit too much for me to drive, so I settled for seeing them in Ft. Worth and San Antonio.

And to the person who asked why DT doesn't vary the set more, each of the 3 shows named above was VERY different! I heard that they (gasp) *took requests* at the Lubbock show. The Ft. Worth show was their "standard" set, and the San Antonio show was absolutely WILD (complete with Nightmare Cinema).

Here's looking forward to the '99 Holiday Shows! (...which I might make a guest appearance at...)
