Hi Jammers,
My most sincere apologies if this comes over as a waste of bandwith,
but I just thought I'd let you know I uploaded 2 soundclips from one
of my songs on my website. This song will most likely be included
on the E-Prog Mailing List CD Project currently in the making.
Anyway, here's the URL for the soundclips:
http://gallery.uunet.be/fivengrok/index.html
and the URL for more info on the CD Project:
http://www.geocities.com/~e-prog/cdprod.htm
Check it out!

Speaking of dreams, this happens to me every once and
awhile, and I wonder if any of the other musicians out
there have this dream.
Basically, the dream is that you've written this
incredible song and you're playing it effortlessly
(various unknown musicians are backing you). The whole
song is done, all the instrument parts are written,
even orchestration sometimes. You can't believe how
great it is. Then you wake up and almost immeadiately
you start losing it (the song). In a minute, you're
lucky if you remember the chorus. And you sit there
and think, damn if I could have "downloaded" that
somehow...All you remember is that is was great.
Is this a common dream?
my $.02, BH
DT content: Right before the end of the my recent
dream song, I realized that James LaBrie was doing the
singing...But it wasn't a DT song, or any song I've
ever heard.

Dave, I only have Blueprint and Wounded from Magna Carta. What is up with
Time Lost and Break? Why isn't Magna carta pushing these out, or are they
with a different label and where do i get these CDs from?

I've had this happen. Sometimes I do remember enough to put something
together that sounds like what I originally heard in my head. Sometimes not.
Song ideas pop up in the strangest places and times. After many years, I've
seemed to develop the ability to remember song ideas that I either dream
about or think up when I'm waiting in line at the grocery store. I don't
always remember the whole thing, but I usually remember enough that I can
get something down the next time I get around to using my equipment.

The deal is that Enchant no longer is with Magna Carta, and currently has no
US deal. The other two CDs can probably be ordered from Laser's Edge
(www.lasercd.com) or any of the other fine prog-oriented CD dealers. I
wouldn't order stuff like this from places like CDNow, even if they have it
listed, as the CD format will be wiped from the face of the Earth before
they get around to shipping anything listed as an "import".

thing is a monster and if it is any indication of things to come from DT

My teacher did some things with us during band class in high school. It's
all about helping yourself make sure that you don't get too psyched out
when you're going to go perform. There are these two psyches in your head
- "self 1" and "self 2" - that are involved when you perform. Self 2 gets
in the way of Self 1 by making you think that you're going to mess up,
that you look funny on stage, etc. It's all about getting into the proper
mindset for a performance.

I've been reading in the past few Ytsejams about Power Of Omens. They
sound quite interesting. Does anyone have or know where I can find ANY
MP3s by them? I just want to sample them before I go on an endless hunt
for the CD (here in Philly, good CDs are HARD to find).

Don't worry, I seem to do that at least once a week. It really pisses me
off, too. Funny, when I think about it, there's always background music in
my dreams and it's usually nothing I've ever heard before. Maybe someday
dreams will be downloadable, but probably not in our lifetimes. :) It'd be
nice. There'd be alot more creativity to go around!

I'm going to have to agree with The Doc here. It seems that
the compositions on this album are more thought out than they
were on LTE1. And, if the next DT album has any music even
close to When The Water Breaks (which could be considered
the quintessential LTE track), well..............wow!!!
