Hello everyone,
Nice to see the 'Jam back up and running. In the new ESPN Magazine (with
Mark McGwire on the cover), Mike Piazza is interviewed by Dan Patrick. At
one point, Patrick asks Piazza to describe some batters' swings with a name
of a band. When Patrick asks Piazza to describe his own swing, Piazza says:
"It's unorthodox. Dream Theater." There is a pic of the band next to it, but
it's a real old one, probably from WDADU. Mike and John P. look like they
are 17 years old and Kevin is prominent in the picture. At least they
cropped out Charlie! : )
In the new issue of Goldmine magazine (the heavy metal issue with a great
article on Iron Maiden and a Megadeth interview), there is an article on the
state of heavy metal today. One one of the pages, there is a pretty big
picture of LTE. Not much of a mention of LTE in the story though, and no
mention of DT.

I dunno if it's too much to ask that we keep Star Wars discussion to a
minimum and please, please, PLEASE! put spoiler or something in the subject
if you're going to. I'm sure I'm not the only one who really wants to see
the movie but isn't about to stand in line for x amount of hours just to see
it and doesn't want people explaining the whole plot before he/she gets a
chance to see it.
I don't want to know shit about the movie until I watch it, I've refused to
even watch the trailers.

"Scarred" always kills me, James' best work as far as emotional singing = goes, IMO. And the instrumental fade-out is probably my favorite DT song = section ever, how they keep building up the intensity, it's brilliant.
And I've been pondering for months now how to replicate the atmosphere = of "Eve" visually in a comic book or single picture or whatever. Damn, = can't come up with anything good! But it's definitely gonna be black and = white.

First of all, great to see the jam is back. I thought someone kicked me off for a while until I saw the message on UaCM. So...I was flipping through the channels the other day and BOOM! Journey on MTV...it was that video where they're on some dock (sorry, I'm not a big Journey fan) And then all these comedians like John Stewart start talking through the video. Turns out to be "The 25 Lamest Videos of All Time" They also played "Seventeen" by Winger and some Nelson song. What a shame...the only time we ever see REAL music on MTV and they're making fun of it.
Maybe if they did the top 100 lamest videos we could catch "Holy Smoke" by Iron Maiden!...or even better..."Hollow Years"

Alright---heres my question: I have every single chroma key mp3 available on the web and i feel that i owe it to myself and to ole Kev to buy the damn thing (or things). I think we should help him out and see if some of the major providers and/or labels would carry his music cause i know sooo many people that would truly dig chromakey. I absoluteltly HATE buying music over the net. It just doesnt seem right to me for some reason. Well, it's actually at a listening station in Borders. Underneath the display there are a few words about how fabulously atmospheric it is, or something to that effect. It's in the section of music that's "impossible to classify". I don't know about any other large chain stores. It is indeed a fabulous album, and probably would go over in a big way.

I would definitely have to say its "Voices" for me.
I saw them live in AZ. and soon after in CA. and when the song was played and they came to the "I'm lying here in bed" part with the flange or leslie speakers or whatever it is all swirling around...tears just ran down my face.
Not joy or sorrow, or personal connections with the song. Just...well...i dont really know it just struck that harmonic inside and i had to watch that portions through RainyVision.
hmm..maybe im mental cuz the same exact thing happens when i hear the little mousy chick from Sister Act do her 1st solo.. ...weird huh??
