I second that! From the first time I heard that tune I was awestruck.
The fade-out (to me) is the perfect ending to a truly great song.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Al's listening tip of the day: Your speakers and you should be placed
at equal distances forming a perfect triangle. The speakers should be
toed toward the listening position and the tweeters should be at, or
slightly above ear level. If necessary, place them on stands to achieve
the proper height. Tilting them back 5 to 15 degrees can also improve
acoustical time alignment. It's best if the speakers are placed symmetrically
within the room. With floor standing speakers, a slight drop in low frequency
response is normal once they are lifted off the floor. The loss in LF response
is more than made up for in imaging and correct sound staging.
Make sure the speakers are at least 18 inches from any walls, and your
listening position should not have your head closer that two feet from the
back wall.
Ditch the tone controls and EQs unless you are one of the few that
have actually used a pink noise generator and spectrum analyzer to
EQ the room for flat response. If you're using an EQ, and have not
done this, you're not using it correctly and are probably doing more
harm than good. The bottom line: Tone controls and EQs are for
people that don't have the balls to do it right. Fix your room!
Try this! Even if it's only temporary, you may end up rearranging
your room permanently once you've noticed the sonic benefits.
P.S. Don't crank up the volume, listen at a reasonable level.
Anything above 90 dB will have your ears desensitized to the little
intricacies that make Prog so great. Not to mention... Fuck up your hearing!
Get busy and try this!!! Any feedback would be welcomed.

Not to worry...I am. That video is "Seperate Ways (Worlds Apart)" It's really disgraceful that eMpTyV still regards groups like Journey as lame.
Journey was one of the first groups to embrace eMpTyV. When those fucking pricks were begging groups to start recording videos....Journey responded by making a whole bunch of them and actually recording a live concert for them (Live in Houston '81).
It goes to show how quickly eMpTyV will turn on you, when it's not cool to be on the same team anymore.

Hey, with the recent talk about the Zoom 505 guitar processor, I remember a question I was going to ask a while back. I was looking at picking up a Zoom 506 bass processor (sorry if I got the number wrong, but I think that's it). I read some reviews, and it sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for (something relatively inexpensive that I can kind of experiment with since I've never used effects for bass (other than the occasional screwing around with distortion and chorus)). Any thoughts on this? Also, just a reminder to anyone who may be going to the Bela Fleck and the Flecktones show June 11 at the Missouri Theatre in Columbia, MO. I'll be there, so looke me up (I'll try to wear a DT shirt or something). Oh yeah, and when is the release date for LTE2? I haven't surfed the web much recently, so I haven't had a chance to check any sites out. Oh yeah, one more thing (sorry about this, my short-term memory is finally coming back to me ;), I remember seeing on a web site (forgot URL) that Amorphis, at one point, recorded a cover of the Doors' "Light my Fire." What was this one, and are there any mp3's of it that anyone knows of? Thanks.

Speaking about twilight zone, more or less it happens to me too! EXACTLY on the same part! :) Starting from "I'm lying here in bed", reaching the climax with the backing vocals supported part "See my diary on the news-stand..." I too can't say WHY exactly happens, I guess I just feel it as extremely emotional piece that puts me in REALLY fragile emotional state. :) -- CyberDuke

Just picked up Dreamscape's 'Very' today. Wow what a killer. This must be the band that's closest to DT I've ever heard. A tad heavier though.
BTW. I'm happy the Jam is back up. Less than sixty mails a day in my inbox is really quite pathetic:-)

Two great tunes that get me every time are the instrumentals "Eve" and = "Erotomania." =20
There's something about Eve that's just gut-wrenching. I never would = have thought that a group of NY rockers could ever create something so = mysteriously beautiful. I remember ROB saying that Eve conjures up a = lot of images of black and white. I personally think Eve evokes tones = of blue and white to represent images and emotions of beauty and = innocence, perhaps two themes that the song itself represents.
Erotomania could definitely represent darker areas of the color palate. = It just literally takes you on an epic musical journey with its own plot = twists and resolutions, transforming from a bone crunching monstrosity = to a delicate and ambient specter of beauty. It never loses momentum = and maintains its dark underlying theme, thus fitting into the collage = of emotions in the AWAKE album.
