    http://www.cuci.nl/~therock/

It won;t cost 23 dollars there.

I hope we will have the distribution there soon, we are really trying, but it is hard, so if anyone has any suggestions .....

you know what? fuck record labels. i'm pretty sure they're either completely wrong, or they just leaked somethign the band didnt want anyone to know. and i, like a fool, checked it out, so its basically spoiled for me. i reccommend you dont go look at that page if you want to keep the surprise. although that post from someone else replying to this email might have already done it... assuming oif course that elektra knows DT's tracklist. i think it'll be appreciated by most if no one in the know confirms or denies its veracity... but thats just me. moo.

Dunno. I don't know what to think about this, now that Elektra removed the info again (don't blame me, I wasn't joking, as that other post proves). Maybe DT should try to get at least their most official partners to do what they are supposed to do. I hate this secrecy nonsense, anyway.

It's not like the album gets better if you learn all about the title and the song names when you buy it on October 26th.

With apologizes to David Letterman... THE TOP TEN "FACTS" ABOUT THE NEW DREAM THEATER CD 10) Everyone's favorite ex-member has returned-No, not Kevin. Charlie Dominici will return to sing a DT-style cover of an Elton John classic-"Ytse in the Wind '99" 9) Due to a case of carpel-tunnel syndrome, Jordan's parts have been overdubbed by the bassist from Semisonic- Unfortunately, this means all DT keyboard parts will consist of the "Closing Time" riff. 8) Mike Portnoy has switched over to the all-electronic, one-armed drum kit made popular by Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen. 7) The opening act on the upcoming tour- Jewel, backed by "The James LeBrie Yodeling Caribou Singers". 6) NIN frontman Trent Reznor will join DT on a new rendition of the anti-MTV, anti-rock star track "Just Let Me Whine". 5) John Petrucci plays 32nd notes throughout the entire 78 minute CD 4) John Myung has returned to the Stick- Not the Chapman Stick, but a large oak rod, which he will use to beat John P. senseless after playing 78 minutes of 32nd notes. 3) The band will tackle the touchy subject of drug abuse in the sequel to "The Mirror", entitled "The Medicine Cabinet [NyQuil and Hemorrhoid cream]" 2) DT is joined by superstar-of-the-moment Kid Rock for the 25 minute epic "Badwitdaba part II- The Miracle and the White-Trash Rapper" ..and the number one "fact" about the new Dream Theater CD.... It's not coming out until 2002!

I saw the thing on the Elektra website, and he wasn't lying. When I went back to look a second time, it was gone. Of course I'm not telling what it said, because I'll leave that to official channels when they feel the info SHOULD be released. hi all,

In the midst of waiting for the new album.....I just got myself a digitech RP10. it's kinda neat thing. I was wondering, has anyone tried to play the Lie solo using the whammy. y'know, start with the whammy down to a 5th (B) on low E string and go up to 4th string (which will be A on a 7 string guitar) and then pull the whammy up and start the rest of the solo from 4th string as D. (As I read this...I myself is confused so please forgive me) Well I've first got to pick up the solo first (at least try to), kinda lost my faith in tabs, may be I'll cheat when I get stuck :)

I would like to let anyone who truly wants to enjoy the new album to know that they should just wait and pick up the disc on the 26th without any previews or preconceptions. I bought LTE1 without any knowledge about it except the band line-up and it has become one of my favorite albums. I was lucky enough to catch LTE at the Bowery Ballroom (the first one of their 4 exclusive shows on their only tour thus far) and they were absolutely amazing. Now that Jordan is part of DT, I can't see how anyone could have a problem with the band's wishes of secrecy. This will be the best line-up of DT yet, so keep the faith and honor the band by being patient for the new millenium of DREAM THEATRE.

Well, weel, look at all the fuss the "cruel" talk restrictions did? I have a suggestion: instead of spending all day trying digging out any news on the new album, or creating mysterious e-mail on hotmail and posting a bunch of crap here toward Skadz and all who support the demand for no-talks - TRY LIVING A LIFE!!!! It just amazes me how much time some folks spend talking rubbish here! We don't need your theories on how mailing list should look like, what we owe or not owe to the band, or whether Skadz or other close to the band want to show off by keeping details! Geez, what a sick twisted mind to come with that conclusions! :( Not having infos - big deal! Are you some spoiled adolescent who just can't sit still and just GOTTA finds out anything? Geez! Do you do ANYTHING else in your life??? - WHO'S SICK AND TWISTED? Just don't think about it and the time will pass fast enough, ya won't even notice it. Get a job, grab the books, practice your instrument, live a life, don't be a moron. -Yeah, who is the moron? Who has nothing better to do than fire off on mailing lists? This is Ytsejam, a discussion about DT. -Hey dude, we just want to know about the new album

I had a copy (got rid of it). There have been a couple of other mentions here recently. You may want to check the archives.

To put it in perspective, here's how I rank the rest of their catalog: 1. Operation:Mindcrime 2. Rage For Order 3. The Warning 4. Queensryche EP 5. Promised Land 6. Empire 7. Hear In The Now Frontier 8. Q2K

Here's my review from the September edition of Screaming in Digital (http://www.scream.org):

    Q2K Toby Guidry (stranger@cajunnet.com)

I think I've subjected myself to this thing enough to give it a review. Hold onto your seats, boys and girls - this is bound to upset some of you, and make others laugh. Whichever it does, it's just this reviewer's opinion, so that and a buck and change might get you a cup of coffee somewhere.

My first impressions was, "The only other album to have this effect on me was Britny Fox's Boys in Heat." The effect? "How long is this damned album? Hearing this depresses me somewhat."

    Rating Scale :

0 or less * - I'll tell you specifically how bad if it's this bad. ;^) * - Not good ** - Fair to Poor *** - Good but not great **** - Very Good ***** - You gotta hear this!

Falling Down ** - The only thing I like about this song is Rockenfield's drumming. The guitar work is okay, but not very original. The chorus makes me physically ill.

One Life ** - I can see why they renamed this song from One. They practically ripped off the opening from U2's With Or Without You, and probably didn't want to get into a dispute over the title of another U2 song. This song plods along like a man mired in quicksand. I think they should market this one as an insomnia cure. As a matter of fact, I almost felll;iusgag8hyagroeghr zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Sorry about that - I seem to have fallen asleep on my keyboard. Let me rewind this thing so I can finish the review.

Sacred Ground * - This song depresses me. Anytime/Anywhere part II, except worse.

When The Rain Comes *** - Another slow song? Okay, they're definitely trying to hit their next Silent Lucidity, it seems. Unfortunately, there's something missing... what is it? Oh yeah... DeGarmo! ;) But seriously, this song is okay for what it is.

How Could I ** - What the fuck is it with the slow songs? Where's that fast forward button?

Beside You ** - Oh boy, another plodding song. Another Silent Ludicity wannabe. Um, haven't we been there, done that? Hmm... new genre? Regressive Rock?

Liquid Sky *** - Hmm... interesting riff to start with. Too much vocal processing for my tastes, but overall an okay song. Put some good lyrics on this song and it would be worthy of the 'Ryche's past efforts. They should have left off the "Always hearing voices" thing at the end, though.

Breakdown ** - This is their first single? For some reason, this song reminds me of Stone Temple Pilots musically. "One time a thing occurred to me. What's real and what's for sale?"

Burning Man ** - Why the hell did they have to ruin this song with these lame lyrics? This music had some great potential. Were it not for the music, this would have been negative *'s. With some good lyrics, this could have been 4 or 5 *'s. Fast paced and a good beat, but "burning man... burning man... burning man?" This chorus goes right up there with Get A Life for songs that make me want to pimpslap somebody.

Wot Kinda Man (or whatever title it's going by this week) * - This song joins Burning Man for the hated chorus category. Unfortunately, this one doesn't have the music to carry it.

Right Side Of My Mind *** - sp00L part II. Very similar to sp00L in my opinion musically. Not a bad song, but again, been there, done that, and with better lyrics last time.

Okay, let's see. By the way it looks, this is a ** album (fair to poor). That puts it at the bottom of the pile out of the 'Ryche catalog for me. Hear in the Now Frontier slightly edges it out because of lyrical quality. It doesn't even come close to anything else. If this is the Queensryche of tomorrow, I'm running the other way.

    HTH, Toby
