Any club that would enforce a dress code for a DT show has got to be
gayer than a lake full of pink fish.
People, if you get turned away, make a scene, because that would be
pure, unadulterated bullshit. Yell and threaten to sue and start a
riot. I'd bet that the band members don't know that the club has
those rules (if they get enforced), so don't blame them. But do
something. Rock clubs are dying -- don't let them all become
"beautiful people dance clubs", as Pam so eloquently put it.

Awesome. Private e-mail me a setlist, if you have one. Grazie.

Robb, I clicked on it, but nothing happened. Then again, I use a text-based mail reader.

If anyone knows about this list, let me know too. (Oh, god, now I sound like I'm on AOL.)

Jon, that's got to be the best review I've seen of that show yet. :)

I've heard good things about that place, too. Anyone object? If not, let's plan Mars 2112 (is that on 7th or Bway? I forget now.) say, around 5:00 pm.

For the Zappa fans here ....
---------------------------------------------------------------- The Government censors rock music in its entirety in this sprawling musical saga. Eastern Europe took this lesson in censorship to heart when it was released. This is the complete set to scrutinize in the safety of your own home, made all the more timely with the rising of conservatism in the land of the free (still going strong as of this writing). Among the targets of Zappa's satire are religious cults, conservative morality, sexual fetishists and the band Toto. ----------------------------------------------------------------
I read this in review about the album. Now, ... lol, what the heck is this Toto stuff suppose to mean? :) What did Zappa have against Toto? Anyone familiar?

If you find an FTP site and a way I won't get disconnected or bored off my ass uploading a 7 MB file on a 33.6 modem that only connects at 26.4, I'll send it :)

Yeah, I'll be there. Along with my oldest son, this time. Why the hell is the Fillmore 16-and-older anyway? I'd like to take my 13-year-old - he loves DT but has never seen 'em. Anyway . . . CAN'T WAIT!

I don't know about "astounding", but I'm getting into the CD the more I listen to it. Weird, thought, how 6 of the first 7 songs are mostly (or entirely) in 6/8! I really like almost all of the songs, though. Very moody, evocative, and sometimes just KICKASS! They're in Denver soon, too, so I might have to check 'em out.
Any other jammers gonna be at the Fillmore Monday night?

Thanks for bringing that up! To be safe, I called the Quest and asked if that was going to be a problem... NO DRESS CODE FOR DT!!! So Pam... I expect something really risqu=E9 :)

Hi, the Chicago show was brilliant! A wonderful setlist by both bands! To hear DT play Metropolis, Learning To Live, Change of Seasons and Erotomania/Voices live and "unedited" was great! Sb also played a good 50 minute set including "The Doorway", and "The Light"! Only downside was sitting in a sauna at The Riveria! LaBrie put it best when he said, "Can somebody turn off the furnace? Holy Fuck!"
Peace, Brian Ayers http://www.progscape.com/waves

Re: APC. This may be my favorite CD of the year so far ... It does sound like Tool, but not as heavy, and not as dreary ... there is some very ethereal, experimental, and emotional stuff in this music. Stellar songwriting, IMHO, as well. I think this is the best music to grace MTV and mainstream radio's airwaves in quite some time ... anyone else agree? Anyway, those of you who appreciate the kind of progressive music that's less technical in nature but still artistic and atmospheric should check out this CD.
>>That Mars 2112 restaurant is right there in Times Square.....very close to >>the show.
Count me in, but only if it's EARLY in the day. I may not want to sacrifice my place in line for food this time around ... planning on arriving around noon.
Only 19 days left! :D

"And the Gods of Metal shall reign down death and destruction upon the trendy masses! And the underground heathenry shall rejoice..." - Psalm 1, Book of DMHC
Hail to thee, O Brother/Sister of Metal!
Ok, enough with the Manowar rhetoric. This message has been forwarded to you for an important reason, so don't scrap it yet. We of Metaldom should conduct a test - one so massive it will shake society to it's very core! Or at least, shake the beauracracy known as TRL to it's rotten, soulless center.
Ever get the feeling that show is rigged? Day in and day out it's like Parade of the Genetically Perfect singing songs so uninspired and unoriginal that even Ray Parker Jr. and Vanilli would have trouble sitting through them. Something is wrong here! Well, we at DMHC have the answer.
On Wednesday, August 30th, we are encouraging Metaldom to unite and stand against this evil corporate empire by flooding TRL with votes for IRON MAIDEN'S "THE WICKER MAN."
One of the stipulations for TRL is that the video must be less than 60 days old, and this is the one we came up with. We're not working for Iron Maiden or whatever label they're on. We just want a video that all of Metaldom can get behind. And let's not be picky - If you don't like Iron Maiden for whatever reason, still cast the vote for your love of Metal.
Here's how to do it: http://www.mtv.com/sendme.tin?page=/mtv/tubescan/trl99_new/pickaday.tin (be sure to write something like "What up, Carson! Phat sideburns! I'm voting for IRON MAIDEN cuz N'Sync sucks worse than a Mandy Moore cover version of Angel of Death!")
You can vote as many times as you want, as long as you change browsers every time.
Or you can call: 1-800-DIAL-MTV (1-800-342-5688) CALL from 2:30 - 3:00P (Eastern Time) CALL from 1:30 - 2:00P (Central Time) CALL from 12:30 - 1:00P (Mountain Time) CALL from 11:30 - 12:00P (Pacific Time)
Heavy Metal High-5's for everyone!
