Not much use, has no information on it.
Plus the site is run by legendary (in his own mind) jammer Syrinx

The most up to date site with Enchant news was
http://www.furiousskeleton.com/ which is drummer Paul Craddick's
site for Enchant side project Xen, but <sigh> that is under construction.

Korg please bring back your Enchant site, it was by far the best one around !

Alright people, it was bound to surface sometime. Something that James was
fearing: "The Canadian Ass & Balls Rap"!! I have received a copy of the full
show Dream Theater did in Glasgow, Scotland on 10/18.

As many of you may have read from the previous threads and reading from LITS,
Petrucci was having some difficulty with his guitar. With this being the
case, the rest of the band decided to fill in and play "Wipeout" and James'
"Canadian Rap". With problems continung, Mike kicked in with the intro to
Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" and invited anyone who wanted to, to come up on
stage and do the vocals. Someone who claimed to be the lead singer of a band
called Babysitter and who could have passed for Axl Rose's younger brother
duly obliged, and was actually very good. Overall, just a great performance
by the band. The full setlist of the boot:

    Disk 1
    1. Laura Palmer Theme (intro tape)/Metropolis part 1 (w/ excerpt of Mean
    Street (Van Halen))
    2. Overture 1928
    3. Strange Deja Vu (w/ excerpt of Hot for Teacher (Van Halen))
    4. Fatal Tragedy (w/ new intro and "Ass and Balls" chorus)
    5. The Mirror/The Mirror (reprise) (w/ excerpts of Moby Dick (Led Zeppelin)
    and Wipe Out)
    6. The Canadian Ass & Balls Rap
    7. War Pigs (Black Sabbath) (w/ audience member on vocals)
    8. Another Day (w/ extended keyboard solo at the end)
    9. guitar solo (w/ Loch Lomond (Scottish bagpipe piece))/
    10. Gladiator Theme
    11. Home

    Disk 2
    1. keyboard solo (w/ excerpt of The Dance of Eternity)
    2. Erotomania (w/ extended drum fills)
    3. Voices
    4. The Spirit Carries On
    5. Learning To Live (w/ extended keyboard solo and excerpt of Whole Lotta
Love (Led Zeppelin) on the last chord)
    6. A Change Of Seasons (w/ new solos and an extended guitar solo)

This leads to announcing some good news: ANOTHER TREE!! With the help of
Kurt, we plan on giving everyone a chance to get a copy of this momentous
event. Here's how a tree works:

You email me (jpbwildcat@aol.com) with the following information once signups
    begin:
    -----
    Name:
    Home Address:
    Email Address:
Do you want to be a branch or leaf:
A burner that can do DAO:
    Willing to do overseas trades:
    -----

After the signup ends, I (James) will then create the tree (based on what you
told me you wanted to be: branch or leaf) and email the tree to everyone who
has signed up. Then, let the fun will begin!! Leaves will contact the
branches and setup a trade. If you opted to become a branch, you must be
willing to do 2:1 trades. This will allow any leaf who doesn't have anything
to trade to get the show. Should the leaf decide to do a trade for blanks,
they must also send a SAS(padded)E to the branch so they can return the show.
So everyone gets the boot in a timely manner, please send priority mail.

Signups will begin: January 2nd (I will post on the lists')
    Signups will end: January 15th

This will be a 2 cdr set and it is a very good audience recording (B+/A-).
The only change that will be made to the recording is breaking it up so that
everything will fit on 2 cdrs. Because of this, the ending of Disk 1 and
beginning of Disk 2 will follow:

    Disk 1
    Fade out: After Home

    Disk 2
Fade in: Right when Rudess starts the solo
Fade out: At the end of the solo
Fade in: Right at the beginning of Erotomania

I just listened to the final copy that will be used and it sounds great!! We
are the type of traders that believe in the original quality of the show.
What you hear is what you get. Nothing will be done to the recording that
will improve the sound quality. The only reason why we would be breaking it
up would be because we both know people would bitch if they had to go out and
buy 80 minute cdr's just for this boot. Everyone wants to hear the James' rap
and that is exactly what you'll hear. Believe us, you will not be
disappointed. The band is really messing around on this particular night.
This will be a boot you will not want to miss.

Please don't try to signup until a signup thread appears either on the forum
or one of the lists' because we'll be getting everything ready for the tree.
Everybody working on this tree wants to make sure everything runs as smoothly
as possibly. These are supposed to be fun. Details on the artwork for the
show is still being ironed out. We should have some news for you soon.

Anyway, hold tight for a few more days and I will keep everybody informed.
This tree will happen. Kurt and I want to make sure everyone that want's a
copy, gets a copy. In the meantime, feel free to post suggestions for the
title of the boot. Kurt suggests the following:

    "ASS AND BALLS" ----Help!

    Take care,

The best and most current site for Enchant is at http://www.insideout.de/ Just go down and click the Enchant link.

Yeah, I ran a site for them ages ago, but I lost it in a hard drive crash in between ISP's. I just didn't have the motivation to rebuild it again. :\ Anyway, the latest news is that four of the five original members have rejoined for their latest release "Juggling 9 or Dropping 10," which was release last October. Whatever happened to Mike "Benignus" is beyond me. Doug didn't mention anything about it in his email to me earlier this year. He did say that Paul was supposed to be updating the official website (http://www.ccnet.com/~theoasis) but it's still way back in "Break" mode.

Anyway, that's the gossip. :D -- KorgX3 has been listening to J9oD10 alot lately.

Thanks Kurt! Actually I've never gone anywhere, I've just been more of a lurker lately due to lack of free time... As for my personal opinion on the whole Savatage thing, I dig both Jon and Zak, though I prefer Zak on a regular basis. To me, however, it all comes down to this: during the early days they were a good, rough, straight-ahead Metal band. So were 4 million other bands. The more recent material has established such a signature sound that pretty much no one else sounds like them. I just don't want to see them go back to simply doing a good job at what everyone else can do, y'know?

You're kidding aren't ya??? Are you a musician??? Obviously not if you can't tell that it's not "live".... Are you blind??? Most likely!!!!

This vid is way too polished to even be close to being as real as a raw LIVE recording ever intended to sound... "Live" in the studio, maybe... yeah, the banter between songs is real... the extra guitar overdubs and/or keyboard overdubs definately NOT... AND there ARE ocassions where Zakks voice does not synch with the video... Also probably because it was shot over different nights. Sometimes they try to synch the music from one night with the video of another. Anyone with any of the Metallica vids can tell you that. watch it again!!

It reminds me of that crap awful Queensryche Live In Tokyo from '85. Christ... even the Fates Warning - "A Pleasant Shade Of Gray" live video suffers the same over producing!

As far as being as it being "Sinister" goes... It siunds great... don't get me wrong, I love Savatage, but a live video is supposed to be just that... LIVE!! No turd polishing!!

    Paul.

The point of the petition is first and foremost to get DS released on DVD. But of course, if they release that one, then maybe they will consider doing the other video releases as well. If nothing else, if they do release ESL, etc on DVD, it will probably be domestically and be cheaper in price. But remember that DS hasn't been released anywhere on video or DVD. (And yes I do realize that Polygram probably has the rights to everything videowise that Rush has commercially released - whether Atlantic sould get their hands on it or not is anybody's guess - maybe Polygram will sit up and take notice).

No you missed my point totally, which was what's the point of petitioning to get Rush video's released on DVD when they are exactley the same as the VHS ?

You also have to remember that Rush aren't that big of an artist, so the label might be reluctant to spend the money to get all the Rush video catalogue onto DVD, with the prospect of little or no profit in return.

Anyway, I'll check to see what other Rush titles are available on Jap DVD.

Oh yes I can tell what is live and what is not, ie Olympics closing ceremony.

    > Are you blind???

No I am not, Damon is the blind guy on the list, dumbo.

    > Most likely!!!!

    Most likely not......

Anymore insults, or just accept a difference of opinion ?

Settle down or you're going to have to use that Preparation H again.

I like it when people use Metallica as an example. I like it even more when people think they know what they're talking about but would be more accurate stuffing shoes in their mouths and calling it a sandwich. Have you ever considered the fact that the audio tracks and the video tracks were recorded onto separate media without timecode, that's why it's hard to sync? Of course not, you'd rather scratch your ass with a twiddle stick and call it an enema.

    > >It reminds me of that crap awful Queensryche Live In Tokyo from '85. >Christ... even the Fates Warning - "A Pleasant Shade Of Gray" live video >suffers the same over producing!

Yes, sorry, we all know you produced all those albums and know for a fact that they were overdubbed a million times. Maybe those albums should sound like shit before you believe they're real.

    Wakeup dumbass.

Graham.. Lighten up will ya!! ;-P Hey btw... Anyone who has been playing guitar for as long as you have I would classify as a musician, regardless of what level you're at.

Actually you won't getting any argument over the closing ceremony of the olympics. That was a real disappointment. There were so many talented people performing and yet only a few, INXS, Midnight Oil, Barnsey and a few others actually played for real, the majority simply mimed.

Which is why AC/DC didn't perform, they refused to mime.

Well excuse me all the hell!!!

Maybe I just prefer to hear a live recording as it's supposed to be and not some turd polished, studio enhanced enigma that may as wll be the original studio recording! Take the Metallica S&M video/dvd for example... it's funny how Hetfield is playing an electric lead solo in Nothing Else Matters with an acoustic guitar in his hands!!! ;-P Maybe I'm over critical about it, I was just making a point about it that's all. As always, it's just an opinion but to me the best live recordings are the ones where you can actually hear the band make errors and prove to us all that they are all infact human!!

Would you like ketchup on your sandwich??

I guess you can blame Kiss for making me skeptical about "true" live albums.

    Agreed 100%.

And Paul.... You now have to check out their first two discs, both of which are superior to The Perfect Element (in my humble opinion): "Entropia", and "One Hour By the Concrete Lake".

Absolutely true... they were asked but refused. I was glad that at least the Bee Gees didn't play!!
