One Way Rec. is just one of those music recycle labels, actually
WDADU came out on Mechanic, a subsidiary of MCA back in 89. This
label never went anywhere, and so did WDADU.

Uhmmm... welcome back!

Or is the Y2K thing really happening and I'm getting Jams from 1900? ;-)

I think OIALT counts as two as far as the contract is concerned.

Steve __________________________________________________

That would mean that counting I&W, Awake, ACoS, LaTM, FII, OIALT, and Met2, that's only seven albums. That's still at least three years or more before their contract's up. I'm not worried :) They'll probably go with Metal Blade or something after that. Besides, DT makes plenty of money for E/W in their genre - they ARE the most popular of the progressive metal bands, hands down. I think E/W would jump at the opportunity to renew their contract. But hey, I could be wrong.

I told you. You should have listened :-)

Get everything from '70-'76. After Free Hand continue with The Power And The Glory, Octopus, and Interview. Excellent stuff. But go to the official site (http://www.blazemonger.com/GG/) for more info about the numerous different CD releases first. There are some versions out there that should be avoided at any cost. If you got the One Way Records (there we are again) release of Free Hand, trash it and try to get the Terrapin Trucking one (UK release and out of print, so good luck). One Way used a wrong master tape, somewhat like a rough mix version, many great details of the final mix are missing.

Hey fellow Progrockers, Just picked up some new music yesterday.

I finally found DT Live at the Marquee. The recording sounds different than Once in a Livetime. I think it's better. They still sound good, I think the mix is better. I don't hear the bass as distinct as in the Marquee recordings.

Another band I found was one called, Angra. These guys are really good and worth a listen to. Also a live version of Royal Hunt, not bad sounding and again worth a listen to. DC Cooper sings on this 2CD set. Lastly, moving to a new style of music (Jazz) I found a live version of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. This is just an all around great CD. Banjo and jazz something you would never think would fit and it does very well.

My choices of cast members:

Nicholas: Nicholas Cage or Johnny Depp or Christian Slater Victoria Page: Alyssa Milano or Denise Richards Senator Edward Baynes (The Miracle):Gene Hackman or Malcom McDowell Julian Baynes (The Sleeper): John Travolta or D.B. Sweeney The Hypnotherapist:John Malcovich or Christopher Walken or John Lithgow And the older man in Fatal Tragedy: Sean Connery or Christopher Reeves

As for the answer to a question about DT's WDADU. That CD was with MCA records. I'm sure whatever record company they decide to go with be fine. Who cares what record company they are with, as long as they don't ask DT to change their music. It's not like they're going to NOT get a contract. If they didn't I'm sure the band would find one or do it themselves.

The following was IMO and is not subject to debate, but you can try. :) enjoy, Happy New Year to all,

I believe it's more like a dreaming-that-you-wake-up experience; The first time the hypnotherapist tells Nicholas to open his eyes, he doesn't really do that. That would explain the italics in Finally Free. Then, when Nicholas is at home drinking a cup of something & everything seems ordinary, the hypnotherapist really wakes him up, possibly killing him too.

On another note, could anyone tell me what the TV news report near the end of SFAM is about?

Not that I want to beat a dead horse, but of those who still think Charlie was God and resent KJLB joining the band, who has heard Charlie doing Metropolis pt1? Now that is atrocious! Not even an ounce of emotion. I thank my lucky stars that James came in and gave the band a chance at success.

I know this was years ago, but I still see people saying that DT is not DT without Charlie and, man, although people are entitled to their opinion, it's a wrong opinion :) (tongue firmly in cheek). And I do like WDADU, but that was not the DT we have come to love and cherish.

Enough ranting for me.

As for DT contract, WDADU was orginally put out in the USA on the Mechanic label, I think this version is kind of a collectors item these days. LaTM I believe is an import in ther USA ? So I don't know if the contract relates just to the USA or world wide ?

Oh anyone know where I can d/l Europe 'The Final Countdown' the new version ?

As far as the Korn thread goes, I will concede that they are a very interesting and innovative band. But it doesn't change the fact that I cannot stand their music. If you enjoy Korn, that's great, I'm genuinely happy for you. But don't expect me to like them just because they're 'original'. New Kids On the Block were original, too.....

As far as the bass tabs go, I cheat =^). I download midi files, and translate them into standard notation with my lil' ol' Cakewalk Score Writer. Then I delete every track except bass. It's a great way to learn bass lines, and, while they may not always be 100% accurate, I'm very pleased with them. You have to read standard notation though, unless you have a program that'll translate 'em into tab. (TAB SUCKS, BTW! =^)

And to whoever said: "I'm a goddam rebel you suck I don't everyone's a racist I'm not that's why you suck and I don't so why don't you just boogie off of this world" I am in your debt. This is exactly what I've been trying to say about the whole hardcore scene, but never found the words. -Banjoman

Good morning!

I just came up with the perfect set for the SFAM-movie. It includes Steven Seagal and Dolph Lundgren.... Seriously though, I just want to add some reasons for making a SFAM-movie =E0 la Brave, the Wall or even something like A pleasant shade of gray (I actually love what they did on that).

1. This is the first, and possibly the only, concept-album by OFB. 2. The story is good and I think fitting for making a movie. 3. I think I heard something about there not being any plans on making an official live-album (correct me if I'm totally wrong). 4. It would be a good way to reveal the ending.=20

I wonder what the costs for making a movie are, but heck - it should be possible.

BTW, I apologize if all of this has been said before.
