I would guess because ACoS is too small, and JP doesn't care enough to do LTE
stuff... Besides, can you imagine trying to tab 3-minute Warning? Jesus.
There's also no tab for WDADU, and nobody complains. "I want to learn cheesy
80s shred!" OK, I know I'll get flamed for that, but ah well... And hey, the
Silent Man has NEVER created or allowed anybody else to create bass tab books
for ANY DT stuff... Which would be great considering most of the SFAM stuff
on the DT website is wrong.

Nope. Most cds can hold 74 minutes of music, but the absolute max is 78.
Otherwise, SFAM (77:12) and Load (77:59) could never have fit on the cds. Ok,
some of you might argue that Load is a waste of 78 minutes, but I like a lot
of the songs (Except the country stuff like Mama Said).

Could we please stop quoting entire posts and then just tossing in a one

this) use the subject line for a subject, and then quote the part you're

Well, together with Queensryche they probably were the first band within
that genre.

Disconnected has some great songs, btw. I would highly recommend this to
any Prog Metal-fan.

|No, he doesn't. If you people had read the Hitch-Hiker's Guide books by
|Douglas Adams, you'd know where the joke was coming from.

As I said in the previous post, I read the book.

|Summing up, for those who haven't:
|
|-- Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything:
|"42".
|
|-- Question to the Ultimate Answer: "What do you get if you multiply six by
|nine?"
|
|-- Response by Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent: "Six by nine. Is that it?"
|"That's it. Six by nine, forty-two. Something certainly got screwed up
|somewhere."
|
|-- Useless trivia: Six multiplied by nine does indeed equal forty-two if
|calculated in base thirteen.

What's the deal here?

|We now return you to your regularly scheduled Metallica argument.

Not necessary.

|cheers,
|Phil

|What do you get if you multiply six by nine?

Or was it: *How many roads must a man walk down? -42!* as the Mice said it?
btw 6*9=54?

|There. If you don't believe me, don't panic. Read the book.

I read it twice. All 5 parts. And now I'm reading the part abridged from the 4th. Anybody interested in it?

It would be great because almost all of the stuff on the DT website is
wrong. Cripes. It would help if there were at least some separation
between verses and changes, but you I see this long string of
0000202034050001023050 and say fuck it, reach for the guitar tab book and
use it as a guide to learn the damn song by ear.

Now, Rush, on the other hand, holy shit. I love the Rush bass tab
archives. :) Makes learning the songs quick n' easy. :) The problem for
me with alot of DT stuff is that even with headphones on, the bass is
really inaudible (like in Metropolis, Part I). I'd love to learn to play
that one, but the only part I can really hear is the tapping bass solo. :p

Does anyone know where to get a good bass tab editor? Maybe I'll sit down
and tab out the songs I've learned so there are decent copies for people
to use.

And Jesus Christ, people, I have to echo Chris' sentiments. Trim the
quote shit down! I know I use quotes as a crutch, but limit it to like
one or two lines. We'll know what you're talking about! Shit, now we're
seeing people quoting quotes from quotes that take up two damn pages just
for a one line response. If you really want your response read, don't
make people search for it, because I know I sure as hell won't waste my
time looking for it.

RECORDING QUESTION:

Hello all. Quick question for the techies on here: I'm going to be buying a new computer (PC) soon that I want to use for recording music (in addition to other more mundane functions like the internet and word processing) for my band. I need something powerful enough to handle software in the vein of Cakewalk, Cubase, Cool Edit, etc. I just want to make good quality demos from it that I will be able to burn onto a CD-RW. My question then is exactly what kind of technical requirements do I need for something like this (in terms of processer speed/type, soundcard, RAM, CD-RW speed, etc). I have a great connection who can get me what I want for dirt cheap, but I need to know what I want first. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate it if you could e-mail me privately. Thanks in advance.

Richie

Hey hey hey.

I just finished my new site design and just released the 100th issue of my zine, aNAda.

Anyway, here's the DT content.

Perhaps you should check out issue 100, "We're all Dead." It's all of the staff writing obituaries about each other. Anyway, my friend Tanya wrote one that involved both of our insane obsession with Chroma Key (and DT as well).

It's a happy good read.

The article itself is at http://anada.net/text/anada100.txt but of course I am hoping you'll take the time to check out the whole site.

Indeed.

DESTRUCTION www.metalupdate.com/interviewdestruction.html

In the mid-eighties, Destruction laid the foundation that extreme metal was built on. Unfortunately, the departure of bassist/vocalist Schmier in 1989 caused the band to slowly self-destruct. A decade later, Schmier has returned to the fold and the Destruction of old lives again. The German thrashers have recently destroyed Europe in support of their comeback album 'All Hell Breaks Loose'. Now, they are preparing to lay waste to the U.S. in a full-scale campaign that includes a stop at the infamous Milwaukee Metalfest.
