I saw somebody asking about whether or not Rena and Marlene were in a
band, and I was wondering the same thing when I saw an auction on ebay
advertising a band that apparntly these two women in it?! Athough the
auction has already ended (for a fairly hefty price, I might add, just
to hear what the SPOUSES of DT members sound like--now THAT's a true
fan...lol), those who are interested can check it out by going here:

Is Iron Maiden's new album out in the States already?!

I don't think I've read anything on Kansas's new album here; so, I
thought I'd let everybody know about it since I'm sure there must be
some Kansas fans on the list! This is their first album in 20 years to
have all original members on it...yep, Livgren and Hope are back for
this one. Anyway, their new album entitled "Somewhere to Elsewhere" is
set for a July 11th release on Magna Carta...a record company which I'm
sure most of you know released LTE's CD's along with Mullmuzzler. If
anybody out there is interested, you can hear new sound clips from the
album at their official site: http://www.kansasband.com/

    OK...I'll shut up now...lol.

intresting read, yes, the greatest part. Shannon was found dead I believe
in Hammond, LA. I remeber this. Hammond is where I go to school, @
    Southeastern Louisiana University.

I think the greatest thing in the article was the statement : Saying that
alternative music would die and 80's rock would make a comeback. Umm its
June 2000, Poison is fixing to launch another stadium tour, Def Leppard
just had a gold record, Megadeth went gold (how I don't know), Maiden is
FUCKING BACK, Queensryche, Ratt, Motley Crue, Anthrax umm should I go
    on....

Anyway and where is Kurt Cobain, soundgarden, blind melon and the rest of
    the "Seattle Sound?"

Do you have 2 email addy's or are there 2 MS that like DT. Is et up a
trade with Matt Smith from the Mp.com forum under ChromaPX,. he lives in
PA i believe. I remeber talking to you in Altlanta? Are you the same guy.
Is the govvernment mass producing DT fans by the name of Matt Smith?
    Weird, the debate rages...

to realize that the YtseJam is full of idiots!! Someone actually wasted,

and I mean wasted time to write 5 paragraphs and not even show it! Hey

Its nice when your whole day includes (Not the the following order)
Only time you HAVE to leave your house is to mail DT boots, ,living in
the suburbs, sleeping till noon, working 4 days a week during the summer
while still living comfortably, (While getting five free movie/game
rentals a week) playing video games and watching TV all night, seeing my
girlfriend a bunch, getting ready to go on vacation, umm....I think I
covered it all. School's ok, Im off for the summer semester, Ill start
back my Junior year in the fall, umm. I think that sums it up. Oh yeah,
its not taht long typing 5 paragraphs, I took a typing class in high
scool, and had to take a business comm course soph. year @ SLU. So
actually, the 5 minutes it took me that I wasted could have been spent
better, but what do I have to do?

So you do you do with your time?

As big gay al says "IM SUPER THANKS FOR ASKING"

Its funny, everyone gets along fine here until YOU showed up, now this is
nothing more than a hate mail letter to YOU, and Matt's Brave new World

80% of the jam has been about this loser Testacles..........
Lets talk about something more interesting, like watching paint dry,
grass growing or the number of grooves in a vinyl LP ?
    It's just as exciting ................

The joke on all of you, I bet he's laughing his ass off, the DT
mailing list and we are talking about him.
A bozo with a hotmail addy, come on which one of you is hiding
behind this guy ? A well known jammer I am sure.
    I have my suspicions :)

    Onto the music
New Iron Maiden is quite a ripper, a good strong solid comeback.
New Symphony X is my fave of the year so far, just ousting
    Nightwish's brilliant 'Wishmaster'.
After the not so brilliant, 'Twilight In Olympus' the boys are back on
form. Those glorious trade mark harmony back vocals are back.
Nice arrangements, lots more classical influences than before.

This is a sad day... It's the first time I write on the jam so I'd like to
say hello to you all! (by the way, I'm from Istanbul,Turkey.)
The sad thing is that someone posted "Tito Puente died" ..and that's true. I
looked over to CNN saying Puente died at NYU Medical Center in New York
    yesterday.
I remember when he came over to Istanbul in '99 for a show I'd been to, with
Alex Fox as the support musician. That was a great show and he seemed to be
very warm, humble and groovy. For those who might not have heard of him,
that "Oye Como Va" thing Santana covers all the time is a Tito Puente tune,
the Mambo King, great percussionist who recorded around 150 albums before
his trip to the other side.
Alan Parsons Live Project will perform in Istanbul tomorrow, yeaah!
    Take care,
    Kemal

NP: Jazz is Dead (Laughing Water)
This album is so tasteful! When I read a cover story on Modern Drummer
about Grateful Dead and Bill Cobham who actually used to tour with Jazz id
Dead but doesn't beat the drums on the album caught my attention. The music
reminds me of a Niacin album with a great blues feel on it.

    Jeff Sipe(d); a 99 release.)

Hahahaha. Sorry to burst your bubble, Kurt, but this is bullshit. Poison
is launching a "stadium" tour like they did two years ago when outside of
a couple cities they could barely draw 2000 people. Same thing happened to
Van Halen on the III tour. Megadeth went gold...they used to go
platinum, and their tour was a bust. Queensrych, Ratt, and the Crue are
going nowhere. The albums and the tours they've all done recently have
absolutely STIFFED. I mean stiffed HARD. Anthrax's last couple of US tours
have been weak affairs with about 12 shows each time, although their
summer tour this year is shaping up to be better. Their albums sales are
shit. You know what...3 years ago, most of the 80s "metal" bands were DEAD
OR SPLIT UP also...they're just getting back together cause they spent all
their cash ODing on coke and heroin, stupid fuckers. Here's a question,
since you bring up Def Leppard...why can Steve Clark drug and drink
himself to death and be a martyr, but Shannon Hoon does it and he's
reviled? Is it because you like the music of one more than the
other? If so, that's probably the most sickening thing on a human level
that I've ever heard. Really pathetic.

Basically, Kurt, this is music from 10-15 years ago, and most people don't
care anymore. Just like most of the "seattle sound" bands are from about
10 years ago, and most people don't care anymore. "New metal" bands like
Korn, Bizkit, Tool, etc, could sell a lot more seats right now than, say,
Ratt and Warrant. Of course, there's also the fact that half the bands you
mentioned were totally BS commercial shit...Warrant, Ratt, later Crue. And
you should learn some history. Dig up some early stuff from AiC, Tad,
Mudhoney, Nirvana, or especially Soundgarden. They rocked a FUCK of a lot
harder than pussy pretty boy fuckers like Poison could ever dream of.

Yes, that the "A House I'm Drawn To" boot (aptly named by MadTabber), and it was the House of Blues Orlando concert. It was recorded from a high-bandwidth stream video from hob.com, and several people on the jam have a recording of it, including me, Bogie, Adam Pye, as well as a couple of others, I believe. It can also be downloaded from Lines in the Sand (dreamtheater.mit.edu) as MP3s.

Oh my God! I couldn't believe it when I read this! Tito Puente died! He just turned 77 on April 20!!

I had the honor to meet him when I was little. He showed me some great tips when I JUST started to play the drums. He was a HUGE drumming/ percussion influence to me. He told me not to quit, because I was having a hard time with the instrument.

I (we) will surly miss him. :(

    Ciao, Ricardo Testa

Well, that=B4s my second shot to post a message here, so here I go... I=B4m a Brazilian DT fan, as well as a Trouble, Angra, Vai, Satriani, Tourniquet, Galactic Cowboys, Whitecross, Petra and (above it all) BEATLE= S fan. I'm also Christian, so I hope that isn't a problem for most of you:) Anyway, my english is lousy, but I'll try my best to make myself understandable.

    Welcome.

That's irrelevant, since religious discussion (beyond a passing comment or two, which seem to be acceptable) is banned from the list.

I always find comments like this to be quite funny, because people who learn English as something other than their primary language most often speak/write it better than most people I know who speak English primarily.

I was fortunate enough (after much searching) to come across 3 Ricardo Testa mp3s. They are entitled "Echelon of Infinity pt.1: the Madness," "CharCole," and "Ciao Down." I was expecting to find every reason to completey rip this asshole but unfortunately I am reluctant to admit that they are actually quite good. They are not for the faint at heart however as there is much self indulgence. However, this is not a problem as he is quite good at such a thing! Just thought I'd give a little credit to the guy. That being said, he's no Pretucci though! I was going to buy his "Coles" album which was up for bid a little while back on Ebay but I missed out on it. Well, if ya have the time I'd recommend trying to hunt these songs down on Napster. have patience though, it took me a while to find them as I think only 1 or 2 people actually have them! Take care everyone.... -Buck Hamner

    GREAT NEWS for NIGHTWISH !!!

-----Original Message----- ]From: Gary Weber [mailto:tolimits@pil.net] Sent: Friday, June 02, 2000 8:29 AM To: nightwish@egroups.com; stratovarius@egroups.com Subject: [nightwish] Fw: NIGHTWISH and CHILDREN OF BODOM gold in Finland !!!

    Directly from Spinefarm:

SPINEFARM are very happy to announce that both NIGHTWISH´s brand new "Wishmaster" album and CHILDREN OF BODOM´s "Hate Me" CD-single reached GOLD status today in Finland.

NIGHTWISH sold the 20 000 copies in three weeks after the album´s Finnish release, as was the case with CHILDREN OF BODOM (5000 copies sold) too.

NIGHTWISH are now touring Finland heavily for the "Wishmaster" album. On Wednesday the band played a sold-out show here in Helsinki in front of 1000+ raging metal fans (supported by the up&coming Finnish goth gods TO/DIE/FOR).

Today the band will play a sold-out show in Tampere, Finland, with SONATA ARCTICA as a opening act. All 1500 tickets of this show are already sold out.

CHILDREN OF BODOM will play only a couple of summer festivals in Finland, before heading to one-off show at MILWAUKEE METAL FEST in the U.S. The band will enter the ABYSS STUDIO on the 10th of August to record their third studio album.
