Damn, I'll have to dig up that old guitar player mag. It had a really
cool interview with Geddy about that tour and how he talked about Primus
not going over well with the Rush cult. But he did go on to say how he
really digs Primus and that he and Les are fishing buddies or something.
Les tributes Geddy as his biggest influence, too, as do I and any other
bass player who knows what's good for him. :) OK, so maybe Vic Wooten
and John M. can be alternates. ;)

I'm just gonna make a quick note of this... Korn ain't really rap metal! Their first album barely has any rap influence, and Issues certainly did away with most of it... Really, their only true rapcore album was Follow the Leader, and I guess everyone did, cuz after that is when the whole rapmetal thing took off (And Korn ditched their own movement, which I think is hilarious). Issues is a damned good album, although I don't really like any of their older stuff. I don't know if he has any composing talents, but he'd make a good psychotic singer.
Oh, and BTW, doesn't it piss anybody else off that Matchbox 20's album title, Mad Season, is a total rip-off of Layne Staley and Mike McCready's side project "Mad Season" (whose one and only album was released in 1996)? It's almost as bad as the Godsmack/AiC connection.

There seems to be some cute little shops right near the HHPAC and there's a HUGE mall like one exit away... I'm not really from Nyack myself, but I've seen a few shows there and have had a chance to explore a bit, but not too much.
You're also not too far from NYC, either.. about 45 minutes to an hour.

Does anybody know how stringent the venue (Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center) is about their "no cameras" policy? The guy on the phone said "no cameras", but I'm wondering how pissy they'd get if I used one, but put some electrical tape over the flash.
Speaking of cameras, is the "no cameras" policy generally a rule of the venue, the performer, both, or does it depend? When I saw Satch in Philly, you were allowed to use cameras that didn't have a flash - I'm assuming so it didn't blind him while he was on stage (even though he wears sunglasses and it woulda looked friggin cool reflecting off a chrome guitar).

Although I'm not a great fan of Korn at all (I'm sure they're good for what they do), I could honestly see better and possibly more talented people to work with on this project. For starters how about Sebastian Bach, Zakk Stevens or Matthew Barlow? JLB would also be awesome in this situation. Any other suggestions?

Admitedly I havent heard anything of them apart from whats on the radio. I think they've had one popular album before this one, so theyre definately post-grunge. They do sound very much more pop than grunge was, but they do sound a bit like STPilots. The lyrics also seem to be the same sort of thing.

About the no cameras rule.. I would think the HHPAC is pretty strict about the rule. I've seen two plays there (one of them was the version of A Christmas Carol that Jordan wrote the music for), and I've never seen anyone take a picture.. Of course, I've never seen a concert there... but I would imagine the rules still apply.
Of course.. they have to FIND the person who has the camera in order to take it away from them..
If possible, no flash would really be the best bet.. it's not distracting to the performers nor is it distracting to the audience members. Let me tell you, if I'm sitting near someone who keeps flashing a camera, I'm not above asking them to stop.. and if they don't stop, I'm not above beating them with a stick.. ;-) it really is highly annoying.
If anyone sees a girl with glitter in her hair (and everywhere else, probably), wearing a black skirt and tank top, that'd probably be me...

Does anybody know how stringent the venue (Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center) is about their "no cameras" policy? The guy on the phone said "no cameras", but I'm wondering how pissy they'd get if I used one, but put some electrical tape over the flash.
Speaking of cameras, is the "no cameras" policy generally a rule of the venue, the performer, both, or does it depend? When I saw Satch in Philly, you were allowed to use cameras that didn't have a flash - I'm assuming so it didn't blind him while he was on stage (even though he wears sunglasses and it woulda looked friggin cool reflecting off a chrome guitar).

I'll give it a thumbs up too. This CD has been mentioned a ton on here anyway. Also, I was lucky enough way back then to get a hold of a promo CD single for "Silence" which contains two bonus tracks not on the CD. Both are covers: "I'd Love To Change The World" originally by Ten Years After and "Cat Food" the King Crimson tune. Both covers are great!
