Vai's playing a couple of gigs here in the end of this week, and I was
wondering if anyone here (Andy's probably the one who can answer this, if
anyone can) knows whether Steve changes his setlist every night or if he
plays the same songs in every concert? 'Cause I was thinking of going to
both concerts, but if he doesn't change the setlist I see no point... Even
though seeing Steve live is a treat...

    Cheers...

Hey guys, I'm trying to burn the first half of DT's Orlando HOB show
(just the SFaM part) in cd audio format, but it
seem just a bit too long for an 80 min cd.

I'm figuring I'll have to cut the end off of Finally Free and then
overburn the cd. How much can you usually overburn an 80 min. cd? What
    are
some good shareware/freeware audio editing programs?

Any other tips for squeezing it onto one cd or am I SOL?

    -Dan.

As an addendum to my previous post....

Anybody know where I can download mp3's of the 2nd half of that show? I
know Bogie had it up for ages,
but I'm a dumbass and only got part of it.

Well, the way I did this when we were trying to boot this was to cut it
off at the end of One Last Time, just before The Spirit Carries On. It's
the easiest and most obvious transition besides just after Finally
Free. It works really well, too, and gives the second disc a little more
time, rather than having 80 minutes on the first disc and 20 on the
    second.

A great shareware audio editing program is Cool Edit 2000, but it only
lets you save for the first 30 days, and it only lets you use two features
at one given time (like, you can use noise reduction and save, or you can
use reverb and save, or you can use noise reduction AND reverb but NOT be
    able to save, etc.).

There's also Goldwave, but I don't know if that's still around... You can
also download ProTools for free, but that's WAY advanced if you're only
planning on editing stuff. I mean, I do multitrack recording, and *I'm*
scared to use it because of how complicated it is.

    > Any other tips for squeezing it onto one cd or am I SOL?

Truthfully, I'd say you're SOL. An 80 minute CD is pushing it even in
terms of the best CD player, and if you were to try and overburn one of
those I think you'd scare the player shitless. :) You can try it, but I
don't think you'll be very successful with it.

When I get back to school, I'll put them up on my web server for you, but
    it won't happen until tomorrow.

Oh, and they're different than Bogie's version - it's my own, slightly
different sound (personally, I think it's better; more treble, less bassy
sound). I'll put up the whole show if you want to get that.

I think I may do just that; I saw Lacuna Coil at the
Underworld a few years back, it's a nice little venue. The
only thing is, about three years ago, I went down to
London with my sociology class to see some conference, and
we all ended up at the Underworld. And this really ugly
blonde girl started trying to chat me up, so I just
ignored her. But ten minutes later, I was in the gents,
and in comes this blonde "girl" to relieve HIMself! I
mewan goddamnit, I *know* I've got long hair, but even
    so...
