I'd like the songs to be in the spirit of the ones I like best on their =
previous albums. DT has shown that they can do songs with similar =
elements and still improve and develop the sound and style. Personal =
favorites are songs like A Change of Seasons, To Live Forever, Strange =
Deja Vu, Fatal Tragedy, Peruvian Skies, Voices, Lines in the Sand and =
Learning To Live. They're all quite technically challanging, dynamic and =
    emotional.

I don't want orchestral elements to a large extent. I've heard choirs =
elements made well, as i Queensr=FFche's Suite Sister Mary, but =
'orchestration in the style of Angra' would make me abandon DT. Too bad =
if that happens, I've loved them since Images & Words came out. :)

You're of course right herre, the lyrics where better back then. =
However, the SFAM lyrics where very suitable for a concept album.

    > So what do YOU think the guys will come up with this time around?=20

Something interesting as always. I can't even dream of DT to make =
another such great album as SFAM so soon. I mean, it took them seven =
years to come up with SFAM, their best piece of work since I&W. In =
between these masterpieces they delivered excellent (Awake) and =
great(the rest) recordings so I will not complain. But I'm convinced =
they'll make great albums amny years yet, so I don't expect another =
    masterpiece until 2006.

It was up on Lines in the Sand website but the band members asked for it to
be removed since they are going to release it themselves.. at some point.

God I'm embarassed to be admitting this but...Was that show possibly
California Dreams? I remember they had the "cool" guy in a leather jacket
playing a Jackson. I seem to remember thinking however, that although he
apparently knew how to play the instrument to some extent, he was mocking
    the solos.

    Hello all.

I'm a Recording Industry student at Middle Tennessee State University. I
am doing a favorite artist project. (on DT of course) The topics of the
    report will include:

    -record co.
    -# of records sold
    -publishing alignment
    -management
    -booking agent
    -touring tactics
    -history
    -lifecycle status
-any other pertinent facts to why DT is significant in the recording industry

if anyone has any information that they would want to share, or knows of a
good place to look for some of this information besides the obvious like
RIAA's websight or DT's websight it would be greatly appreciated.

I think probably one of the coolest shows
that involve 'shredding' had to be the one that
came out in the early 90s starring Dweezil Zappa
and his sister. The whole crux of the show was
to center Dweezil's guitar playing. He worked at
a Guitar Center and they would try to put scenes
with his playing and shiznit. I vaguely remember
one where he ended a show by jamming
over a tape in his room. What a great way to
promote your music. Develop a sitcom around it.

    peace,
