Just order it online and get it in your mailbox. You can get it online for
$13.99. Don't wait too much longer, that CD is awesome.

Nobody I know has been able to locate it in a store. I ordered mine from
CDNow and even there it was on backorder for two or three days before they
    got it in.

Makes me wonder why J. Lamm from Cea Serin is trying so hard to get a Metal
Blade record deal. Looks like S-X's Metal Blade deal has so far done
exactly two things for them: jack and shit. :)

Anybody in the Atlanta area (besides you, Pellaz, that's a foregone
conclusion) going to the Ozric Tentacles show on Nov. 1st?

    cheers,
    Phil

I found the New Mythology Suite domestically at Tower. I paid more than
they were asking for online, but I wanted it. They only got the one
copy. Border's didn't even order it (bastards). If you persevere, you will
    find it.

I don't know about music stores, but I work at a radio station and Metal
Blade cared enough about Symphony X to send us an advance copy of V. So I
wouldn't say they're getting *totally* screwed.

I was in Rockaway Records in Mesa, AZ, USA, selling some old CD's, and much
to my shock - they had it. I didn't buy it (CD's don't factor into my
budget right now, seeing as how MY CAR JUST GOT STOLEN - bastards!) - I'll

    Hey everyone -

Thanks for the response on the free CDs - I hope Todd enjoys them as much as
    I did...

Anyway, I'm selling a few leftovers from my collection which may be of
    interest to fellow progheads:

    * Symphony X - The Damnation Game - $7
    * Ayreon - Actual Fantasy - $7
    * Ayreon - The Final Experiment - $7
    * Ed E. Roland - S/T (rare pre-Collective Soul solo album of CS
    singer/songwriter) - $7

These prices include shipping if you are in the continental 48 United
States. Otherwise, you pay for shipping.

All four discs and cases are in great shape and were rarely used (too many
damn CDs in my collection)... :)

    Thanks!

Someone mentioned not being able to find 'V' in
stores. Word on the street is that the first pressing
has a rather horrific skip in the last tune (something
I guess Metal Blade is known for), so I wouldn't be
surprised to find that they've been pulled. Can't say
    that that has happened though.

hi! one month ago i bought the best album i've ever heard: explorers club
age of impact (jp strikes again (... and again and again and ...)) and i've
heard something about explorers club 2. when will this be released an what
    will be the main players?

another question. i learned that trent gardner is the leader of a band
called magellan, but i couldn't bought anything of it ... which kind of
music do they play? is it like age of impact?

the last. when will symphony x's v can be bought in europe?

could anyone give his or her opinion or thinkings about this albums:
     1. explorers club: age of impact
     2. symphony x: the divine wings of tragedy
     3. mullmuzler
     4. bozzio levin stevens: black light syndrome (or something like this ...)
     5. spock's beard: day for night and/or v

(if you want to send it by private email, if this maybe reiterative, for me
    that's ok !)

Yeah, isn't that frustrating? More than a handful of people had planned on
buying both the import and the U.S. version, as to support the band as much
as possible (the band makes more money from sold Japanese copies, btw). It
would have been nice if we could have at least had a chance to chalk up a
thousand or so record sales in the first week, showing MetalBlade that they
have a band that's actually gonna sell. But how can we do that when the CD
is absolutely NOWHERE to be found? MetalBlade is going to get a nice
    e-mail from me about this.

Anyway, speaking of things I kinda wasn't expecting to see in stores, I got
my SFAM tab book the other day! I haven't had the chance to really delve
into it yet and check for mistakes (which I've heard exist despite JP's
"meticulous" editing), but so far for the most part it looks right. I have
my work cut out for me! :)

People. It's pretty simple. Metal Blade sucks at distributing their
releases, so you have to take matters in your own hands. What I did was I
preordered my copy through a local shop. When they saw that at least one
person was so eager to get it, they had an extra three copies on the shelf.

Sadly, the days of walking into a record store and finding what *you* want
are over, unless you show your local stores that there is demand for these
albums. I bought entire SPock's Beard catalog at the same local shop and
when V came out (SB's V), they had it - and I didn't have to preorder it.

You're going to have to work along with the stores if you want to see
    results.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty positive I saw the new Symphony X album (V)
at Best Buy in the St. Louis area (don't remember which store specifically,
though, since there are a few around here). I almost did pick up the new
Spock's Beard and did pick up Doug Pinnick's latest project Supershine (with
Bruce Franklin of Trouble). It kicks ass.

    >Looks like S-X's Metal Blade deal has so far done
    >exactly two things for them: jack and shit. :)

I wouldn't say they're doing zero promotion: a copy of "V" was sent to the
radio station where I 'work' a couple weeks ago, and I'd figure most other
metal-playing radio stations in the country probably got theirs as
well. You gotta figure *some* promotion in the US is better than none (the
way it's been for the past five-plus years).

Honestly, there's no use in bitching about metal albums not being in your
local music store -- it should be a foregone conclusion that most decent
metal just does not sell in this market, and that most record store owners,
many of whom don't even listen to the music they sell, buy accordingly. It
sucks, but unfortunately it's the way it is. If you really want to help
out Symphony-X, play the album for your friends and, if they like what
they're hearing, tell 'em to buy a copy via mailorder. Or, call your local
college radio station and ask 'em to play it. My two cents.

In other news, all Opeth fans on this list (I know there's bunch of y'all)
need to check out the new Enslaved album, "Mardraum: Beyond The
    Within". It will not disappoint!

    Hey, toejammers....

Have you burned a DT Best Of CD? What'd you put on it?
I've just burned mine (ended up being four 77-minute CDs full)...
    here's the tracklisting:

    Disc One:
    Met I (LATM)
    Fortune In Lies (LATM)
    Eve (SM Single)
    Scarred (Awake)
OAMOT (WDADU -- re EQ'd and comp'd to match rest of CD)
    ACOS
    To Live Forever (Lie Single)
Learning To Live (I&W -- comp'd to match rest of CD)

    Disc Two:
    Derek Solo (OIALT)
    Lines In The Sand (OIALT)
    TWIUTB (HY Single)
    You Or Me (HY Single)
TTT (Demo -- SM Single -- comp'd to match rest of CD)
    A Mind Beside Iteslf (Awake -- tracked as 6, 7, & 8)
    Speak To Me
    Trial of Tears (FII)

    Disc Three:
    BMS (HY Single)
    AH/THK (HY Single)
    The Mirror (Awake)
    Lie (Awake)
SFAM Medley (from the first note of Overture 1928 thru the
next-to-last note on Fatal Tragedy, seamlessly welded to the last
note of Home thru One Last Time, welded to the beginning of the
piano in Finally Free just before "Friday Evening...", fades out
before the sfx begin -- 34:30)
Pull Me Under (I&W -- comp'd to match rest of CD)

    Disc Four:
    LSOAD (5YIALT Video)
    Anna Lee (5YIALT Video)
Ytsejam (WDADU -- EQ'd and comp'd to match rest of CD)
UAGM (I&W -- comp'd to match rest of CD)
    New Millennium (FII)
    Beyond This Life (SFAM)
    Through Her Eyes (SFAM)
    6:00 (Awake)
Light Fuse And get Away (WDADU -- EQ'd and comp'd to match rest of
    CD)
Home (SFAM -- record scratch, static added to the end after last
    note fades out)

Okay, long as hell (5h 8m), but it gets all the DT songs I like in a
new order, kinda like the Led Zeppelin box set in 1992. Besides, I
needed to justify buying my burner. I wanted to capture some of
their live stuff, but not overlap a bunch of tracks, which was
tough. I did get four different shows captured, and while three
were Derek-era, they are each different and express a different side
    of the band live.

Plus, it includes a bunch of rarer tracks, and the SFAM medley,
which removes a lot of what I thought was filler (did BTL really
need to be 11 minutes long?). The story isn't as coherent in this
version (especially since Terry Brown's hypnotherapist is completely
removed), but it serves well as a shortened, "best of the best"
version that reminds the listener of good memories listening to SFAM
and going "holy shit, that fucker's on fire!" as their stereo begins
    to smoke.

The best part was that I did the discs one at a time, not really
thinking about which tracks would go on which disc, and still, there
was no loss in quality from Disc 1 thru 4. That's an amazing
comment on the quality of DT tracks, that someone (granted a DT
anboy) can come up with 308 minutes of DT tracks all of the same
high quality to be considered "best of."

Anyway, the men in white coats are here, so I gotta put on the weird
jacket with the long sleeves and take the blue pill.

If the show was in NYC, or NJ, that's da man! Rich is a DIE-HARD collector.
You walk into his house and there are just guitar cases, (with guitars in
    them), EVERYWHERE.

It's funny.....he owns guitars that cost up to $5K, and he plays through a
    $49 Marshall. :-)

There were two weekends in a row, he snagged a Donnie and a Rainforest, the
next I think it was like 2 Donnies...in addition to the other one's he
already had. He also has a few JS-2's (Original Chromeboy's, NOT the
    JS10'sth).

    Hi!

We have decided to give away some very cool prices for our fans!

We have only one question for you to ask, but still you need
4 answers. But first, here is what you can win: If you have all 4
answers right, you can win something that we call a Superior
History Package. This package includes the following things:

    - 1 original band info taken from the 'Timeshift' days.
    - 1 Timeshift demo tape.
    - 1 original band info taken from the 'Behind' days.
    - 1 Superior - Behind promo CD
    - 1 t-shirt Superior - Behind
    - 1 poster Superior Younique

All these things will be signed by the band of course.
We want to give away 3 of those Superior History Packages. So chances are quite
good, I think. The trivia will be online until
    December 1st.

You are interested? Ok, then have a look at our site at
http://www.meet-superior.de/ and go to the "Interactive /
Trivia" section to find the question and the form to submit
    your answers.

    Have fun and good luck!

    Greetings

    Bernd

Mine is only a 2-CD set:

    Disc 1
    1. Overture 1928/Strange Deja Vu
    2. The Mirror
    3. Trial of Tears
    4. The Killing Hand
    5. Another Day
    6. 6:00
    7. Finally Free (doesn't include beginning or ending dialogue)
    8. Learning To Live

    Disc 2
    1. A Vision (WDADU demo w/Charlie Dominici on vox)
    2. Pull Me Under
    3. The Silent Man
    4. Home
    5. To Live Forever
    6. Space-Dye Vest
    7. A Change of Seasons

And as soon as the SFaM live Cd comes out or, if it doesn't, as soon as I get
a bootleg of it, I'll make a 2-CD set of the best of live DT.

Cheapo Discs in Saint Paul Minnesota had them... And I mean... HAD.
I called in advance to verify they were receiving copies on the release
date. At that time they informed me they were only planning on ordering
two copies. Well anyway... Thanks to Napster, I downloaded and burned
the complete CD a few weeks prior to the US release. I made three CDs
and gave two of them to select friends that were in a position to expose
several people to this new stuff. I'll get to my point... :)

By the time October 10th rolled around, we had 30+ people waiting
to buy this CD! I informed Cheapos of this and they responded by ordering
25 CDs on the initial order! RIGHT ON CHEAPOS!!! I stopped in on Friday
the 13th (A good day to travel around a large metropolis surfing the local
record stores) and they were down to five copies. Unfortunately, the entire
strip-mall cheapos resided in, burned to the fucking ground on Monday the
    16th!

SHIT!!!!!! I think they were the only store in town that had physical
possession of the CDs. But I could be wrong. This sucks! My favorite record
store has been reduced to digital ruin... Fortunately, they have several
stores. But that one was the most prog friendly. Plus, they were open seven
days a week until midnight. With the exception of the eves of release dates...
They stay open until 12:30 AM so us early birds could get the worm.. :)

So here is a shining example where Napster has generated revenue for
the RIAA pricks. Revenue otherwise lost... Incidentally, myself and the
other two recipients of the illegal home-brew CDs, had possession of the
commercial US version within five minutes of the LEGAL release time!

Those arrogant RIAA pricks should realize that people will pay for
QUALITY entertainment. I like the liner notes. I like the superior sound
quality. My home-brew CD was constructed from 256k bitrate MP3s.
The commercial CD BLOWS IT AWAY! It's not subtle at all. Even on
modest playback gear the CD of MP3 origin got it's ass handed to it
    in the sound quality department.

Maybe the RIAA has a legitimate bitch. I can't see the average "Pink" fan
giving a fuck about sound quality... And it's all about money, right?
