WOW! There's a boot of this??? There's only one thing that could be. While
playing a show in CA DT got shut down by the fire marshall because the club
oversold the show (the club later denied everything). When Portnoy announced
that they had to leave, the crowd began chanting "bullshit" and "fuck you"
to the club owner and fire marshalls. The name "The Spirit Really Carries
On" comes from the fact that while leaving the stage, Mike said fuck it and
jumped right back into The Spirit Carries On, having the crowd sing since
James was being detained. They kept playing until the club shut off power
and a riot squad forced everyone out.

    First off,
Pye check yer email, that trade we are doing, i am almost ready to send.
(thursday or saturday depending on if my car comes out of the shop)

Lost in teh sky boot-i never understand why people do this. Anyways they
see fir to make a quick buck. Its not just those people though. I own
several "silver" and "original" boots i was foolish enough to pay 20-35
bucks for. now i found out the prism one has some value to die hard dt
collectors swell. I constatnlt get emails from people (mostly in europe
btw) that wanna pay me anywhere ffrom 50-150 dollars per cd. geez. thats
    alot.

Uhh dream theater are a good band.

Last but not least i feel so abandoned. I got the DTIFC mag yestrday and
was reading the interview with Mike. Supposedly we are no longer his
fave, the forum (which i love to death, don't get me wrong, as many of
yall do ;) is where he goes to really read what DT fans are thinking.

the ytsejam will always be a special place for me, since i subscribed to
an address then forgot my password for 8 months, then came back and had
close to 1000 digests. This was right around when FII came out and the
whole DT sells out and Derek vs Kevin threads were at their worst. Funny
stuff to reminince (i know i spelled that wrong) about.

The NAMM Show "SPOILER" below was actually featured in the Rhythm magazine
(UK) interview with Mike Portnoy published in 1999 so it is actually nothing
new, although it is new that it will finally be in production!! He has been
using a protoype for about 2 years already ...

I think I know what it is...as far as a product goes...another Signature
product...he told me about it last February in NYC...said it was going to be
released Jan 2001...for those who really want those who want to know, I'll
     post it...here's the warning:

Tama is releasing a Mike Portnoy Signature Starclassic Snare Drum. This has
    a
custom snare strainer, and although it is not operated by foot, (like
Mike's), it is hand operated. It has 3 different settings-On-Off-In between.
That was straight from Mike's mouth after the Roseland show last Feb, after
    I
asked about a whole signature set...

    Hi,
The song is by just Joe Satriani and is from the playstation game Formula 1.
Steve Vai does some songs for the soundtrack too, so that probably
explains how he got in there. All the songs are listed on the game, but I
am not familiar with any of them. The only reason why I know this is that
my old roomate was obsessed with the game and I obsess over Satch and Vai
    =). Hope this helped.

I'm pretty sure this has not been discussed before, but I hope Mike Portnoy
    is reading this:

I was in my film class today and the teacher shows us a film every week.
This week the movie was "The Red Shoes", a musical from 1948.

One of the characters was named Victoria Page and she was in love with a
character named Julian and there was also a love triangle that resulted in
the death of one of them at the end of the movie. Although the story had
nothing to do with SFAM I thought that since Portnoy is a big film buff, he
might have borrowed the names from this movie.

Check out "The Red Shoes" it's actually pretty good, I don't usually like
musicals but I enjoyed this movie a lot.
