Hey shut up, Dead or Alive happens to be a very cool song. :o)

And that never-ending fax was hillarious. Joshua, ... was that the same
guy proposing the SFAM show to die for? :)
Dude, with those kind of ideas, use your cells and write some music, I'm
sure some very cool prog will turn out of it! LOL

Read this news page, paying particular attention to the last two
    paragraphs.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/entertainment/newsid_948000/948331.stm

It appears that Bruce Dickinson is having his Chemical Wedding album (one
of the best metal albums of recent years) turned into a movie of some
description. There's no mention of it on his official web site though.
    Strange.

He did. Most of his fanbase hated it. Me, I liked Fight and Two, but I seem to be in the minority (especially on the latter one).

Going to see a Led Zeppelin tribute band (Black Dog) open for a Black Sabbath tribute band (Sabbra Cadabra) tonight. How's that for a combo?!

That may also fall under federal COPPA laws. (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) COPPA makes it illegal for a web site to collect personal info about kids under a certain age. It's kind of ironic that Al Gore, who helped push this through, tried to get kids to sign up for a mailing list when his web site was first launched. After he & his crowd were informed of the illegalities of this, they promptly took it down.

I didn't catch the original post, but in case you'd like to know, the N64 version of NASCAR '99 (and possibly other versions as well) has "Surfin' With the Alien" and SRV's "Scuttle Buttin'."

I'm so proud of my local classic rock station. They usually play crap, even on their all request show. It's basically "All Skynyrd all the time." (not that Skynyrd's not a good band, but you can only hear "Mr.Saturday Night Special" so many times) But tonight I managed to get them to play Met pt. 1and about 20 minutes later, they played Savatage's "Edge of Thorns" (orsomething to that effect) Anybody know what album that Savatage tune's on? That song kicks ass!

Creed puts on a damn good live show, go see 'em if you can. Anybody else think DT should invest in some pyrotechnics?

Hey what cd burner would you guys recommend (IDE not SCSI)? I'd prefer not to spend over $200. I'm looking more for reliability and ease of use than for top-of-the-line speed.

And finally, if anybody wants to check out my ultra-cheesy, DT-promoting, CGI-toting web site, go to http://www.cs.sunyit.edu/~costeld :-)

On Fri, 29 Sep 2000, Dan Costello got sloshed off Fruitopia:

That song kicks ass!

That's correct. It's also the name of the album. Kick ass album altogether, I believe it's Zak's first outing with Jon Oliva and the crew.

For me, though, Handful of Rain off of Handful of Rain really kicked me in the musical nuts and I've been a Savatage fan since. :) The music video for that song is coolness defined, visually. :)

James' hair gets stuck in enough stage fodder as is, doesn't it? ;) Although, it would be a surreal trip to watch him sing The Silent Man with a towering inferno raging over his scalp.

I just got this from the Paul Winter mailing list.. :

JOURNEY WITH THE SUN presents the musical adventures of a caravan of world musicians, recorded in the great space of the world's largest Gothic Cathedral. Born of Winter's annual Solstice Celebrations, the album introduces many recent guest artists at these Celebrations, including Mickey Hart, Niamh Parsons, Jordan Rudess, Damian Draghici, Jerry O'Sullivan and Vardan Grigoryan. Joined by his new Earth Band, featuring Davy Spillane, Arto Tuncboyaciyan, and long-time members of the Paul Winter Consort, Eugene Friesen and Paul Halley, Winter leads this caravan of outstanding world musicians on a new musical adventure.
