I have been meaning to comment on this for a while, but I guess I wanted to wait until I actually heard the CD. But to hell with that idea. :)

I WILL get the CD, but you asked for comments, so I will comment on what I have heard. Trance and progmetal have been needing a fusion for as long as I can remember ... before I even knew what "trance" or "progmetal" were. While I do hear a little more Royal Hunt than DT or whatever (probably why you don't say "progmetal" in the description of your style), the clips I've heard indicate that the CD *could* end up being the best I have ever heard in the end.

Right now I give that honor to Symphony X's newest masterpiece.

I will email you on the side when I get a chance. You wanted honest opinions on the plus and minus side, and perhaps it would help if you knew who my favorite band of all time is. :)

PS: Why is the jam so ... slow now? I mean, it is better not having 5 messages of 25K each in the mailbox, but I don't understand the slowdown.

    Thanks!

From what I understand, MP merged his DT kit with his LT kit, hence the word "siamese". Whatever tune he is playing at the moment will determine where he sits and what he plays. I don't really consider that overkill, especially since guitarist are allowed to switch guitars all night for diferent songs. Why not drummers?

Yup, one of the best CDs ever IMHO. It's weird that many QR fans didn't like it. Probably too arty :))

It was also included on the jp. PL and the Bridge single. And it sounds great, really. It has that typical PL sound with saxophone and everything. I love both versions!

JLB sings, "A question welled served; is silence *&%# a fever." He kinda does his little word slur thing that he does on the "Scenes From New York" during Through My Words, where he sings, "We're &*%$#@! one eternity, living in two minds." It's like he for a split second forgot what to sing, starts to sing a different word, suddenly remembers, tries to slur back into it, but it's too late. That's the only thing that i can hear, but that seems like such a minor detail to repeat a song over, i don't know whether that is it or not. maybe they just weren't happy with the way it went after that mistake, so they just plodded through the rest of the song. The 2nd version does sound a little more energetic, so maybe that's the case.

Wish I had the CD with me right here, but, from what I remember, there was a pretty obvious fuck up in the last chorus where either JP or MP fell out of rhythm. I also remember JPs playing being a bit sloppy at the beginning of that first take.

But what do I know? joe

hey there folks, quick question about cd burners. everytime i burn a cd, specifically an entire album, the burner automatically interjects a little 1-2 second gap in between each song. how can i burn an entire album, still have the individual tracks, but not any gaps in between them. i know it can be done, i'm just not sure how. any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You have to enable "Disk-At-Once" writing in your CD writing program, then there won't be a gap between tracks.

Well, the one that I heard that nobody else seems to have mentioned (save for that "messes up a little at the beginning" one) is the one I consider to be the biggest fuck-up: When JP comes in for that first time, and then the rest of the band comes in, he waits an extra bar before starting the chorus chords over again, so he ends up out of sync with the rest of the band. This basically throws everybody off.

It took some listening to figure out exactly what the problem is, though, because they were really good at covering it up.

That reminds me... I don't know if I ever posted this to the jam (and if I have, forgive me), but I recorded a couple of DT covers, just for fun, and though people might like to hear them...
