Well, yes, i agree. But i never said web forums were better, i just said
    that
times change, and there comes a time when you have to make a choice,
either get with the times (even if it means doing something that doesnt make

that much sense to you) or miss out on the information you want. Adaptation
is the key :) I much rather prefer the email list too, but since the jam has
    been dead
for months, i started visiting the sites...thus ive been well informed of DT
    news
    :)

Now all we need to do is get people to cross post useful/important
info to the mailing lists as well.

The other problem that I see is the number of web boards that are
out there (heck, even I have one on my site ;-), and DT has a few
(one on each of the band member's individual sites and one on
DT.net. I just think that trying to scan every web board everyday
is more time consuming that subscribing to a dozen email lists and
        checking your email.

Yes. I promise to do this from now on. :-)

Email is great. Web boards are crap.

If anyone's considering the "special" show in Barcelona on 19th Feb, I found a site where you can order tickets:

    <http://www.bvvtickets.com/>

There's a button in the top left corner to view the English version of the site. I think if you're ordering from outside Spain they won't send the tickets to you - you'll have to collect them from the venue or some other ticket office (although I'm not sure I understood this).

Are there any Spanish people on the list who could offer advice about this?

The point is that the amount of time everyone has argued about which one is better (which is about 15 posts already), it would have been just as easy to throw a 3-line post on here (to those of us in the "dark ages") saying "Hey DT is doin' a show in NYC...here's a link to the information"

Hi all! I was just wondering if there is any benefit at all in pre-ordering 6DoIT? Does it arrive before normal releases? Or is it just better to wait for it to get to stores and buy it there? Is it that they actually sell out?

*thinking* Nah. :) I'll just continue to live under a rock. Seriously, I know I am not the only one who does not enjoy the web forum format.. as some replies in the same digest as your message made clear. It may be useless complaining, but I just felt the need to air out my issues with it.

    >Well, as I said before, I got the information about >the show on the DT site's mailing list, and I know it >was on the news page there previous >- Chris

Sounds like I need to sign up for the DT site newsletter. What is the volume of mail on that one? My inbox is hurting, currently, so I just want to be careful. I don't visit webpages on a daily basis, except for yahoo and espn... too many things I'd ideally like to keep track of to practically do it that often.

    >I read about the warm-up shows either here on the >official DT list, or the Symphony X mailing list.. >I read about them ahead of time. > JM

Hey, I'm on both these lists, and I did *not* read about them ahead of time.. just after tickets already were gone, since someone forwarded the notice to me from the website. Whatcha talkin' bout, Willis?

That sums up my position as well, thanks for supplying the words!

I've been on the Ytsejam since digest # 700 back in '94 and Web-Forums might be a "happening thing", but not for this camper.

If you pre-order it, it will be delivered to your door by your nice friendly postman, which means you don't have to venture outside in the January weather. :-)
