Dream Theater is definitely a band you can go into just about any major
chain music store the day it's released and pick it up..

On the other hand, it's always nice to go home after work and walk to the
mailbox and have a new CD waiting as well :)

50/50..... heads or tails... online store or music store.. lol

Yeah, but consider yourself lucky :) Ive never received a pre-order on the
    day of
release...usually it SHIPS that day and then takes X number of days to get
    here.
(although for SFAM it was back-ordered, same with the DVD) so i just
    canceled
and got them here...but if i were in your situation, id definately order it
    online :)

At Sam Goody (Musicland) I think you get some kind of discount coupon
when you pre-order stuff. Seems to me it's like 2 or 3 dollars off your
next purchase. I've got a buddy that works at Sam Goody, so I usually
    pre-order and buy stuff there.

Disagree, but that's all in the EAR of the beholder :)

The entire second DT CD is a Masterpiece. Can't wait to buy this puppy
    next year!

Well they're both masterpieces IMO. But i dont know, that overture has too
much useless symphonic progyness that doesnt even seem to fit with the rest
of the bits of the song. Too much disney/yanni/shadow gallery type pompous
    fluff
, while the song (6doit) itself is far from that, and i just think that its
    too long
and meandering... personally i know (and i already do it) that i will skip
track one of disc 2 almost
100% of the time when listtening to the album. (I sometimes even do that
with SFAM, skipping over regression :p )

    Hello all,

Speaking of the new album, could somebody please explain the title "Six
Degrees of Inner Turbulance"? I just can't figure out what it might mean.

    Thanks,
    Andras

P.S. I know there was a movie called "60 of Separation"
