    Greetings ye 'jamanoids.....

    Michele inquired, about TSO:
    >That's the "West" tour, right? Who is in that? (I know this was answered
    >before, but I cannot remember the answer.)

Several members of the company were new this year and I can't recall all of
    their names. Returning were:

    Tony Gaynor, narration
    Tommy Farese, lead vocals
    Michael Lanning, lead vocals
Valerie Vigoda, concertmaster and electric violin

    New this year:
    Rod Weber, lead vocals
    Sophia Ramos, lead vocals
Jane Pitrelli, keyboards (listed in program book as "Jane Mangini" --
either somebody screwed up or her marriage to Al is a recent one)
John Margolis, keyboards (and lead vocals on "Old City Bar")
    Al Pitrelli, lead guitars

I have unfortunately forgotten the names of the drummer (Steve something),
second guitarist, and bassist. All very talented but I wasn't familiar with
any of them and I don't have a tour program handy.

Great show, lots of fun. Oh, and I got singled out by Farese from the stage
in between songs. "I see we have Santa Claus again this year." Looking at
me. "Yeah, I remember you from last year. You know the lyrics to all the
songs.....man, you even know the words to the narrations in between
songs!!" Laughter from the crowd. "Thanks for coming back, man, we
    appreciate it."

Ego boost for me. All in all, a wonderful show. I'll try and get a more
detailed review up when I have some time (Cashman, where's your review, man?)

    cheers,
    Phil

It is recent... I got her to autograph my tour book and chatted
with her, Al and Paul Oneil a bit after the show...

The second guitarist was Angus Clark... he was pretty good, not
sure if he's in a band or anything currently. I can't recall the
        drummer's name either..

Recently buckled under and placed an order with CDnow, something I had prohibited myself from doing as I am strapped for cash, but the 30% sale got me. So I placed my order, notwithstanding the fact that only one of the four CDs got sale price (!!!) and proceeded to kick my own ass yesterday, when I got news of their $7.99 CD sale. ARGH. Well, I'll console myself with the fact that the CDs *I* wanted would most likely not have been on sale, anyway. Such is life.

    Anyway, here they are:

TSO: Beethoven's Last Night - I was totally floored by the tunes they played from this on last Friday's show, absolutely had to get it. Haven't had a chance to listen to more than the first couple of tunes, though. Jon Oliva as Mephistopheles makes it worth the price alone :)

Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes - already had it on tape for eons, loved it, so I finally bit the bullet and got the CD, awesome stuff. Not much new to comment on here, but I love this entire CD.

From the Choirgirl Hotel: which I absolutely LOVE, given that it's totally different. Wow. Played it pretty much all day yesterday at work with the exception of my mornings which are devoted to Howard Stern. I'm diggin' it. Songs I'll be singing for days, unless they succumb to the stiff competition..

Nevermore: Dead Heart in a Dead World. Wow. That's all I can say. I was surprised to find that I recognized more of the songs than I would have thought (well I saw them playing with Savatage at Jaxx so that might be it), and hot damn, is that a smoking CD! I need to get a better stereo system, mine just about succumbed when I cranked up the volume on We Disintegrate. Phew!

And since I had to bring up Howard, was anyone else listening to him this morning? A(n alleged) suicide call, followed by a child molester... that about wraps up a wild Howard week, good grief. Never boring to listen to, that's for sure!

    Happy New Year, everybody! Alex

    Respectfully, Bullshit.

It's called "The Four Degrees of Inner Turbulence". The fanclub CD for this year contains 4 songs from the new album that are edited down, not full versions. I don't have mine yet, but have read on the list where others have.

Well, technically, you're both right, except Jan-Michael, who was dreadfully off on the title, which is actually "Four Degrees of Radio Edits." However, it is NOT a Christmas CD, but rather an "Annual CD" put out by the fan club. So basically, you're both right.

I too just picked up "Dead Heart.." from Nevermore. I really liked "Dreaming Neon Black". This is similar but much better. I'm really beginning to love those guys.

Unfortunatly, it's unlikely that it will beat out the "VA-America: Tribute To Heroes" or Pink Floyd's "Echoes-Best Of Pink Floyd." I think you'll see the album fall quickly once it's available through the retail stores.
