    Well, the incarnation of "The Gladiator Theme" that Rudess/Pertucci played
    that night IS in fact on the official CD. It does NOT sound exactly like
    what they played during the last 2 legs of the M2000 tour - in fact it
    sounds almost nothing like it at all. Anyway, the track is called "In the
    Moment." And just to let you guys know what did and did not make the CD,
    here's a breakdown of the entire setlist:

    1. Introduction - not on CD
    2. untitled = Furia Taurina
    3. Truth = Truth
    4. Fife And Drum = Fife & Drum
    5. State Of Grace - not on CD
    6. Hang 11 = Hang 11
    7. Bite Of The Mosquito - not on CD
    8. synth improv = From Within
    9. The Rena Song - not on CD
    10. Gladiator = In the Moment
    11. A Tune = Black Ice
    ~~~encore~~~
    12. Hourglass - not on CD
    Dear fellow 'Jammers:
    Does anyone know how to get the Roseland DVD and video? I am fully aware
    that it hasn't been released yet, but I was wondering if we're supposed to
    pre-order it or something. I don't want to get shafted like I did when I
    ordered my 2-Disk Transatlantic, and they ran out AFTER I sent them the
    money at CDnow. I bought a DVD player just so I can watch the Roseland show
    (by the way, my DVD player apparently reads right through the 'defect' in
    Symphony X's "V" album, if that little swirly thing is the defect, and it
    reads through huge scratches, which is cool). Dream Theater is still one of
    the greatest bands out there, and I don't want to miss my opportunity to get
    both the DVD and the VHS of the concert. Any help or additional knowledge
    is appreciated, and for obvious reasons can be posted to the 'Jam.
    Thank you all,
    Friction...just does what the Voices in my head tell me to.
    OR.... You could play the MIDI's in winamp and set it to output to WAVE, and
    oh, you have waves of all your midis, instead of doing it the long way like
    Mr.Souter here suggested ;)
    oh and if you want these intructions in spanish, no problem.
    According to Hardradio.com :-
    The DVD for Dream Theater's Metropolis 2000 is only the performance of the
    title track with an extra hour of live footage, not the whole show as
    previously reported.
    Any confirmation of this Mark Bredius??
    Can you give us any details as to the actual tracklisting/running time of
    the DVD??
    Comes out in theaters in the spring, probably Memorial Day. Starring Tea
    Leoni, William H. Macy and Sam Neill. There is supposed to be a big cameo
    from someone that has worked with Speilberg in the past. Originally it was
    going to be set in between JP and TLW, but I believe now that it is set
    after TLW. Speilberg is only producing, the guy that did Jumanji and
    October Sky is directing.
    There is also some new species of dinosaur bigger than the T-Rex.
    ]From what I've read it is non-stop action and thrills.
    Yeah, but if you want them to sound decent, you shouldn't use a computer's
    MIDI playback engine, since all of them have really wimpy samples. For the
    best sound, you need to go to a good MIDI instrument and record them the
    long way.
    I was looking through my archive of old jam material (I have ack mode
    messages dating back to 5/1/99, that's over eleven thousand messages...
    Jeez) and came across this message from Korg (well, it's only part of a
    message, but it's the important part):
    << Korg's daily thought:
    And if you think about it, if Jesus were alive today and went around
    curing illnesses and stuff, do you realize what the first thing that would
    happen once word got out would be? A crazed team of government dispensed
    scientists would tackle him and cut him up to see what made him tick. Of
    course they'd dissect as many of the recipients of his belevolence as
    well. At least, anyway, he'd make the cover of Enquirer or Weekly World
    News. -- Thought spawned from listening to Ocean Machine's "Greetings."
    Don't you love modern society? Or do I just watch too much TV? :) >>
    I realized, as I did when I first read this a year ago, how profound this
    was. Just thought I'd share it with everybody...
    The new Children of Bodom album called Follow the Reaper is very good also.
    Also check out another finnish band called Sentenced if you haven't yet.
    Start with Crimson, Frozen or Down. They're all great albums.
    I've seen Spirit of Live in atleast 3 music stores here where I live so it
    shouldn't be so hard to find.
    You've obviously never heard a REAL pro-level MIDI keyboard, or aren't
    aware that you've heard one.
    Why would that be different? If the MIDI data already exists, then why not
    just route it through a good keyboard rather than play it again? Unless
    the MIDI files have some mistakes in the data...
    Has anyone heard Vanishing Point-Tangled in Dream cd?
    It's decent Australian melodic metal with some prog tendencies, but the
    thing that stands out is the most Space-Dye Vest inspired/rip-off/clone
    song called Dancing with the Devil. It's a keyboard/vocal track
    with tv/movie samples just like SDV. They also cover Floyd's
    On the Turning Away.
    Not a bad cd, but not as prog as they would like you to think.
    My 2 cents (US),
    Trevor
    It makes sense, though, doesn't it? I mean, if the Biblical Jesus existed
    (hey, I'm a skeptic) and thus returned, why do people think he'd come back
    in a flash of colored light, 300 feet tall, or with sparkling little faerie
    lights dancing around his head? And if Jesus were to return as a regular
    bloke, I'd wager that 99.99999999...% of Christians would denounce him.
    (David Koresh, anyone?) Ah, well. Just food for thought. :)
