    Hey JAMmers
Just thought I'd suggest a listen to POE for all the Fiona/
Tori/ Madonna fans or enthusiasts. Her latest effort "Haunted" is the
shit. The album has like one skipper ( IMO --
I'm not a Virgin Anymore-- ) and I'm not thrilled when I hear "Hey
Pretty " but overall it's one of my fav purchases of the past 6 months.

Oh I almost forgot --- I would like to thank all the people
here who have suggested bands on this list. Thanks to you I now have
Symphony X, Rhapsody, Stratovarius, Nightwish and Opeth. Fuckena
    !!!

    Have a Day Y'all Billy

np Dizzy Gillespie Sextet ( featuring Charlie Parker ) --- Groovin'
    High

    Well...it's 2:35am....and I've just completed my 1+
hour drive home from the Spock's Beard show at Jaxx in
    Springfield, VA.

What a fantastic show that was. This is the 2nd time
I saw them, but first time as a headliner. Suffice to
say it was a fantasic set.

    Personal highlights:

    1) being in the "2nd row", just in front of Ryo

    2) hearing Disc 3 of Heavy ConstruKction by King
Crimson as the house music between Event and Spock's
Beard. Perhaps not the best of introductions to KC
(it's a collection of improvs from the european leg of
their 2000 tour), but hey...KC is my favorite band so
    I was digging it!

    3) standing in line behind someone who is bringing teh
Flower Kings to Hampton, VA on 9/2. Time for me to
    buy one of their CDs!

    4) Ryo taking charge of getting autographs from the
band for a kid who is in front of me.....while the
show is going on! He signed it himself, and took the
book and got Dave to sign it while neither were
playing anything. Then he came back and said "3 to
go". Later, during the encore, he got Neil, Nick and
Alan to sign it....again, on stage. He also gave the
kid a cookie. That kid is a fan for life I'll bet.
Besides, it's always nice to see that there is a next
    generation of prog fans.

    5) the antics of the entire band. These guys just
have waaaay to much energy. I need to find out what
caffeine source these guys use and buy stock in it.

    6) the fog machine. There was a fog machine that
would, almost w/o fail, let out a hiss of fog at the
most quiet moments of the gig. It was funny. And
occasionally, fog would rise up around nick, making it
    look like he was fire.

    7) seeing a nice sized crowd there for the band.
Really, it was a great turnout. When I saw DT last
August and SB opened for them, quite a few people
around me in line out front and inside had never heard
    of them.

    8) having a polite crowd. for once, my night at a
club show was not marred by irritating audience
members. Plus, it was not a jam-packed crowd, there
was enough room for keeping my legs moving.

Anyhow...time to put away my 6 year old Ytsejam
    t-shirt and go to bed.

    Jon.

What time did the show start, or when did Spock's take the stage? the philly
show at the North Star bar tonight supposedly starts at 9:00, but that seems
    a little late.
