Inspiration Corner CDs for new DT: Master of Puppets, Aenima, OK Computer,
Vulgar Display of Power, Achtung Baby, The Downward Spiral, Superunknown,
and Petrucci brought in some Bartok and Rage Against the Machine.

Hmm... 2 metal bands, 2 hard rock bands (Rage/Soundgarden), two 'prog'
(Radiohead/Tool), one pop, one industrial... this should be interesting.
Awake, pt. 2? It seems like it'll be heavy but with melodic and experimental
parts, judging from the inspiration. Hopefully, less keyboard solos. Not that
Jordan doesn't kick ass, but I really dislike his sounds both in LT and DT

Geez tell me it's a joke this one for the new album.

And about that DVD, ... I hate those sleezy smarty-pants called DT. DVD
systems stores should give them a percentage. How many of you bought /
will buy DVD players primarily or mainly because of the DT DVD? :)

    <me shyly raising hand>

P.S. Yo, are the pre-orders shipped on the day of the release? Or
    earlier?

    Hello all:

I have a very important question for you all concerning a guitar technique
called "fluttering." I'm sure you veteran guitarists know what I'm talking
    about. Anyway, I recently purchased a Carvin DC747 7-String with a Floyd
Rose trem. The arm is angled up away from the body, probably about 20-30
degrees, and it ends up being probably close to 4-5 inches off of the body
of my guitar. When I tap it just so to flutter, it's so high that it
bounces back into position fairly hard, and makes a kind of "thud" sound.
I'm afraid that I'm going to break my guitar if I keep this up. Should I
bend my trem arm to make it parallel to the body (the instruction sheet says
that the arm is supposed to be parallel to the body when the action is set
right, but the action is right now although the arm isn't parallel), or
should I do something else to it? Help!!!!

    Thanks in advance,

Really, paul? I didn't know you were a screenprinter! We will talk more
privately. Specifically, about how you've kept your sanity. :)

I did it as a part time job in college, and it was an increcible
learning experience for me, but man o man, I respect anyone with the
patience and skill to take on screenprinting full time.

Oooh, the Chew-meister's Ytse-archive seriously rocks ass! Much props. :D
I got to see that my first post came on Jan. 25th, 1995 in 'jam #662. I'm
still looking for my first real flame, though. I was too mellow back then.
:) Also, I found an awesome piece of Ytse-history after one of my posts in
    'jam #710.

Enjoy and relive the memories. :)

it has come to my attention that this mailing list has become a forum for
pseudo-intellectual types to spout out intellectual poppycock about things
    that are trivial.

furthermore, i have noticed a movement on this list which praises mediocre
material (i.e. bon jovi, extreme, and van halen) with no relation to DT
while talented musicians nlike cynic, thought industry and others
    remain conveniently ignored.

third, there is a tendency to "ride the bandwagon" in regard to new material
related to DT. for example, _Awake_ is the ultimate in generic progressive
metal and the kevin moore demos truly eat it, yet these sheep praise them
endlessly just like they were "the emperor's new clothes." god forbid
that anyone should bring up any topic which portays these prog-metal gods
in a bad light. I am not afraid to say that these are shitty pieces of music
    because it is truth.

you all have failed the human litmus test. i hate you and i hope die.

God that last jam was hard to read. Did anyone else in digest mode get it
with a black background? I was so frustrated until I realized that by
hitting "respond" to it, all of a sudden I had white background and could
read everything. :) Heh. Been that kind of a day.

LOL. It was a riot getting this as the first message of the invisible jam

hmmm... maybe I shouldn't use that frowning emoticon there, I could be
hearing from some lawyers soon since it has been patented.

Wow, what email program do you use to read your mail? That's funny that it
    turned colors on you.

LOL. That and the fact that I can laugh at viruses are the reasons I use
Pine to read my email. Using a Unix-based email program means you NEVER
EVER EVER have to worry about being attacked by those damn Outlook Express
virii. Not that I've ever received one, but if I did, I'd sure as hell
notice and delete it before I download it to my archive.
