Yeah, got the new Tool. Haven't listened past the first track cause I also got the newest Threshold and Opeth the day before. All I gotta say is WAAARRGGGH!!! :) Sure, I loved Still Life and Clone a whole lot, but these new albums are doing a damn fine job of surpassing their predecessors.
Also picked up a trippy-ass CD called "Fossil Culture" by Peter Frohmader and Richard Pinhas. All I gotta say is WEIRD. I likes it. Noisy, ambient, industrial, progressive instrumental noise music.

Hello all!
I have a favour to ask. Does anyone have lyrics to Nicklebag song Grow? My band wants to do the cover, but Bernard Fowler is kinda hard to understand here and there. If anyone has the original CD (believe me, I wanna buy it), the lyrics should be in, if you could scan it or type it that would help me tremendously!!
Thanks in advance!!!

Anybody ever heard Blind Guardian's "Nightfall in Middle Earth." I've never heard anything by this band, but I ran across it at amazon. With The Fellowship of the Ring being released this December, I'm slowing becoming a bit of a Tolkien nut, so this album's intrigued me. The audio samples at amazon are ridiculously short. One was about 5 seconds of wind blowing - that's it. 8-)b Any comments?

Why is it that when Metallica slowed down, when Megadeth slowed down, when Slayer got more raw, when Queensryche got more gritty... all these bands went to complete and utter SHIT?
And yet, Tool releases yet another album that is simply enormous, even though nothing (save a few drum parts) really technically shocks the listener, and the music contains many similarities in feel, speed, heaviness, grit, etc to those other bands? Lateralus is mind blowing. This band takes simplicity, and cranks it up to 11. It sounds huge, and conveys so much! There's some intangible element in this music that may perhaps only be labeled "integrity."
In contrast, the new Megadeth album is AMAZINGLY moronic. Pitrelli (though a fine and extremely capable guitarist) continues his chameleon-like trend of soaking up someone else's style in lieu of making one for himself (the album is ripe with Friedman rip offs)... it leaves me wondering why, if all the blame was to fall with Friedman (I am not willing to entertain arguments against the fact that he was by far the most talented member of that band, past, and present) ...why is this album the same PILE OF CRAP that they've BEEN making? It's a joke... "Am I Evil" rip offs, pathetic Hangar 18 sequel (I don't think so) a 1:40 instrumental that a one handed gimp tree sloth could have written and performed (with the exception of some totally out of place horn parts). Megadeth is crap. But their next album will be heavy, right? I mean, it will make Rust in Piece look like candyland! Please. Eat my ass and balls.

Yeah.Get it! Excellent stuff. The album is just great. Intense vocals by a complete Tolkien freak such as Hansi Kursch...captivating, emotional and memorable lead breaks...folk elements...story respectfully based on Silmarillion...oh just get it fast will yeh? If you like it,i bet you'll be looking for their discography afterwards.
