Man, shut up already with the political BS. I'm really tired of wading
through all that for the occasional music-related post (thanks for those who
post relevant things). I don't post on here much anymore, but I still read
the jam every day. Please keep discussions relevant to the topic of the
    list. Thanks.

Yeah, I love the version on the Hollow Years single. I have a boot from the show where that was recorded. Right when James starts singing the song, some guy yells out "Yeah, lets hear James sing the old shit, fuck charlie dominci!" funny moment.

hey there jammers, i just got the most recent UACM issue in my email, & it contained a little interesting tidbit about the LSFNY. granted, the news about the release date being bumped forward was cool enough (from the 23rd to the 16th), but the bit about the candian release sparked my curiousity. apparently, the canadian re-issue came out yesterday (the 9th), and rumor has it that it still contains the original artwork, but the flaming apple picture is covered up by an easily removable sticker. any validity to this? canadian jammers, what's the word?? if so, are there any online canadian cd dealers that one could obtain the original from? i ask because i'm an avid collector, not someone trying to cash in on the soon-to-be rare cover. any info is greatly appreciated.

    rock on, eric

I always thought that it was common courtesy to add NDTC (No Dream Theater Content) to the subject if you're not planning to post about the band or anything related, musically or otherwise. That way, people can see right away whether the post is anything they wish to read.

    Just an idea...

Apparently there is a Korean version that comes in a box, with thick style 3cd jewel case, booklet and t-shirt.

I'll let you know more when it arrives :)

Hello! I just want to point out that you've done an incredible job. I'm sure other European jammers will thank you as mush as I do because this is glimpse to something many of us haven't seen. So far I've downloaded Damage Control, I watched it full screen and it looks (& sounds) great, things considered. Keep up the good work... :-).

You know, DT and music content seems a bit trivial right now. After all the baseball playoffs have started ;-)

Obviously, I'm kidding. I think it's been very interesting to hear the varied opinions of a very diverse group of people in a global community having at least one thing in common (DT, duh!).

For me, I find it very difficult to stop thinking about the tragedy that struck my highly imperfect but beloved country. It has now been one month almost to the minute since the attack. If nothing else it has made me more empathic with people in other areas of the world who have suffered their own inhuman horrors (sometimes, directly or indirectly, at the hands of my own countrymen). Hopefully, some of us will have forever been changed for the better, and the world will work together to reduce the omnipresent terrorist threats and build peace everywhere.

If you feel that you must continue discussing why America is evil, the religious motivations for war and terror, the global economy, or other thoughtful non-DTC topics, you have MY blesing (although maybe not that of the moderator).

    Peace,

A buddy from my high school, Mark Mulder, did a damn good job in putting the Yankees on the wrong side of winning their 4th WS in a row. It was a great game to watch. Too bad big baby Clemens had to exit a bit early.

I loved how the A's were pounding line drives right back at him. Too bad one of them didn't hit his face.

I'm not sure which version exactly it is I hav of The Killing Hand (the cover is at my father's), but it is on a disc called "Trial of Singles" and it says "promotional copy" on the back. Does anyone have any idea of whether this is a bootleg or an actual promo cd?

By the way, this version of the killing hand has an intro called "The Other Hand", and it ROCKS. I think it's better than the version on "Live at the Marquee".

The worst packaging ever: What do you guys do with your CDs? Juggle? Quit whining, the music on the discs is GREAT, and that's what most people buy their CDs for... (In fact, I had to pay a total of approx. $45 to get them ( I live in Norway, and the price is including shipping and Norwegian tax - which is robbery).

As for the recent tragic events and all their after effects, patriotism, condemning, salutations and so on:

Jacynthe just posted yesterday, I believe, that she got a copy just like that - a sticker covering the NYC skyline - so yes, they are selling it in Canada.

what do people think about the new transatlantic album so far?

i just picked it up at my p.o. box yesterday and am listening to it for the first time, and it's definitely growing on me very quickly...

just one comment (i would make more, but i don't want to put any spoilers up...) - did anyone else notice that, on the back of the cd case, they printed the wrong link to the transatlantic page (www.transatlantic.com instead of www.transatlanticWEB.com)? how did THAT happen?!? ;op

take care, hope everyone enjoys the new cd, and maybe i'll see some of you at progpower 2.0 next month in atlanta... :oD
