Well, please keep the secret, and don't spoil the surprise for the
    rest of us. :-)

Mp3 vs. original source? Irrelevent to those of us who are not tru audio/technophile's I suppose. Most people do, at some juncture, discern between differing quality, but the nuances and intricacies, especially to me, are just a non-issue at some point. For those inclined to delve into sound design, or have a particularly fine era, great, but as a creative dude, I am more concerned with execution of ideas and personal musical expression. Of course, I also hate changing my own motor oil (and thereby, don't -- bring it to the shop, eh), can barely tell the different kinds of screwdrivers apart and basically am technically challenged... heh heh.

In the article -Art-metal band Tool composes classic(al) music from the ST. Paul Pioneer Press(9/6)

"Some of the most technically adept, inventive musicians in contemporary music have flown the metal banner. Guitarists Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen and Dimebag Darrell, drummers Neil Peart Mike Portnoy and Tool's Danny Carey, bassists Billy Sheehan and Les Claypool-"

The tool show was last night. It was refreshing to see a poplar band put the music first! Maynard said something which to me was very profound "Thanks for listening". I won't give details, and spoil things but if you get a chance go.
