I just read the newsletter and I am VERY upset over not being able to see Dream Theater's new show this year. It is ridiculous that the promoters should ruin it for the fans. We are the ones that put money into the pockets of the promoters as well as the band. Now it seems the promoters want more money than they should be entitled to.

This makes the band themselves look bad if they turn down the show, but the band needs to make money and if they didn't make money why perform. Really the only true people that they hurt are the fans. Fans buy music and then want to see it played live and the promoters are suppose to "promote" the band.

What the promoters fail to see here is that they are hurting the fans and themselves. The fans pay the price to see the band and the promoter, but it was the promoter that wanted more money so the band wasn't able to make money on the show. I can't blame Dream Theater for not doing the show because they come and play, hell they should get paid to do so. So how do we get around the promoter and give something to the fans that missed the concerts.

What if we picketed the concert halls?
I don't believe that would work.

(DING DING DING, I hear a bell in my head ringing of an idea that popped up)
What if we found a neutral place in let's say Tennessee. (countrytown USA)
Remote and isolated. We got the band to agree to play for one show.
Hell we can make it a Woodstock for Dream Theater. I'm sure the fans would pay to see them. Then the money could go directly to the band, well after paying for the cost of whatever venue is used, if any and the cost of operations. The promoter wouldn't get a dime, just the band.

I'm sure the fans would be happy to pay to see a promoter free concert. Then next time the promoters want more money maybe they will think twice in upsetting the band and its fans.

Now if only we had a way and a place to do this.
    Hey Dream Theater, interested?

I'm not really sure how the concert could be pulled off, but it's a nice thought.
To the promoters I give you the proverbial finger.
To the band I give you $40 if you'd come play at my apartment. lol

    Further note:
Maybe Dream Theater could give out the information on the promoters that were responsible. If they got enough hate mail maybe they would reconsider.

    until next time,
    ThWizard

Jordan's new look?Did I miss something? Isn't he still, uh, he? Don't tell me, he got a face lift with all that new progressive money he's raking in! No? Perhaps he's gotten a
haircut for 'behind-the-curtaiin' keyboardist for N*Sync? No? Well, then, what am I missing here? (I didn't get my CD in the mail yet, so I am visually challenged at this
point). Thankfully I realized, we are talking Jordan Ruddess of DT fame, and NOT Jordan Knight of NKotB, right? Sheeps...

    Peace!

    Hi all :)

Can anyone tell me where I can download those 6 preview vids ??
On the DT.net I can only look them over (if I try to download I get a tiny
    RAM file)

    2 reasons :
    1) I've a slow net connection so I only see a pic from time to time.
    2) I want to keep and cherish them ;)

    Thanks,
        A carbon based lifeform.

    Hi there,

I usually do the following, maybe this could help you also:
    - Open the tiny .RAM file, there is a URL inside
    - Change "rstp://" in the URL to "http://" or "ftp://"
    - Download and enjoy :-)

Alternatively: buy the latest RealPlayer. ;)

    All the best,

    Andras

Thanks, Damon. I'm not usually around anything
radio-like at that time of the night on those days,
but I'll try to keep it in mind. It sounds good!
