Wow. I usually scan the 'jams these days, but this caught my eye. People
really think disc 2 sux?? I know, it's MY opinion, but I think it has the
best mix of DT-sounding music and melodies that they have ever done. It's
stuff like the middle 6 or 7 minutes of TGP, the admittedly Pantera-influenced
section, that ruins an otherwise kick-*ss song. I rank Blind Faith up there
as one of their all-time top 5 songs (it has everything DT-like in it). The
rest of the disc is b-side quality, IMO. I think they finally got it right with
the Goodnight Kiss/Solitary Shell section (I never liked stuff like The Silent

I agree. I am pretty well impressed with Soilwork. Great Production, the musicianship is inspired, the overall packaging is professional, and the keyboard work combined with the heavosity (to coin a term?) creates an interestingly diverse and intense vibe (I kinda work within those musicial 'constraints'
myself). Kinda of reminds me of Fear Factory (such as 'Resurrection' which they should've incorporated as a stylistic diverson from their 'everything else sounds the same' menagerie). Thumbs up!

This is something I really don't get. I seriously believe that disc one is
close to their worst stuff ever, and that disc two is possibly their best
work. To date that is. I am very glad that they are on different discs,
otherwise some of the songs from disc one could really ruin 6DOIT.

I concur - I find disc 1 to be incredibly weak, yet disc 2 is great -
almost as they had been recorded by two different bands.
