Kinda weird, this list is the only place I have ever seen negative comments on NBC. Everyone loves it ;) I think Soilwork finally has the ability to write good songs with catchy hooks, and not just death metal that sounds like every other band out of Gothenburg. Predators Portrait is just as good IMO. \m/

Best of, Gretchen, Dogman or Ear Candy, definitely NOT the new one...
They are great live, too, so don't worry about it...

When did this come out and where do I get it?
Did they ever come out with a NTSC region 1/0 DVD?

None here either. Well, ok.
Not as good as the first one or any Fates material.
IMO, sorry Doc. :)

So well put. The Emperor has no clothes. Saw CD2 live on the last tour and
it still left me unimpressed (seeing stuff live usually helps out a lot for
me for reasons I cannot explain). I know that the side projects are
probably what keeps these guys sane nowadays BUT it has to dilute all of the
end products. Although few may admit it publicly, are there others like me
who listen more to Mulymuzziler Two more than CD2 of 6DOIT ????

Uuuuuggggghhhhh .... different opinions are healthy but I have loved VDP
ever since the beginning. To me this is far and wide better than anything
that they have ever done (more mature, still intense and oddly more
accessible all at the same time). Charlie, feel free to admit that you are
wrong at any time ... :)

31, which one would you suggest? I just paid a high Canadian price for
their latest, and while I can't say there's necessarily anything wrong with
it, it didn't excite me at all either! I was hoping to have discovered
another great band after hearing so many positive things about them over
the years ... Is their latest release just a sleeper?
Chris, underwhelmed and disappointed

Chris,
allow them and they'll suck you in like there's no tomorrow.
I agree, their latest album wouldn't be my first choice to introduce
KX to someone either. Go grab Dogman (their heaviest and genuinely
angry album - they were pissed at their label) or Tapehead and
I'm sure they'll blow your socks off. And while you'r at it, get their
Greatest Hits, not a bad collection of their best songs at all.
Welcome to the groove machine!

Damn! I pick up a Soilwork CD (this one) last week after hearing lots of
good things about them. I really like it. Now I hear it's a
disappointment? I can't wait to hear the others. I picked out Natural
Born Chaos over the other two because it says "Produced by Devin
Townsend" on the back, btw.
Thanks,
Mark Peters

Well, don't get me wrong, I'm probably not as big a metal snobhead as Gaz is but I do think the album is attempting to be commercially much more accessible (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). But if yer yearning for the more powerful and technical stuff, you'll have to look on the older albums. That said, I like Natural Born Chaos... especially songs like As We Speak, The Bringer, Flameout.
Listen to songs like Skin After Skin, My Need, Grand Failure Anthem, I think those songs are really what Soilwork did best. There's really nothing like those songs on NBC.

I dunno Mark, take any song from Beyond Daylight and play it next to something like Inside Of Your Head or You Fly and you'll notice the difference.
