No idea on the set list. I'll be there for sure, meeting the regulars. I
missed'em the last time and was bummed out. I won't let that happen again!
Maybe I can talk Kez into yelling out "BAFU" so you can find us. I would do
it myself but that's just not me. Kez on the other hand.......... ;-)

Seems I've almost caught up on sleep now, how about you guys???
Wow, what a weekend. Can we do it again, Daddy? And again?
Does anyone else already have their check made out to HoS Productions, just
waiting for the amount and when to send it? I'm completely confident that
he could sell 400 or more Gold Badges next year, even before a lineup is
announced. What a show.
Kudos to Glenn and Paula, of course, and to all you other adventurous souls
that made the weekend what it was.
Oh, nice pics, Paul!! Thanks for sharing.

I'm coming from Columbia, MD, about 50+ miles away. I've been to Jaxx a
bunch of times. This place is going to be packed. I remember a Dream Theater
concert here several years back. It was like Sardines in there.
I would like to request they play the entire Divine Wings album and nothing
else. :-)

Good question, I don't know. I believe that it can output tab as
midi, though, which is nice for me, because I'm thinking of running this
into a sampler.

I got the program DC++ off mirc and it seems pretty straight forward.
Connect to a hub (server) and chat or browse each other's shared files.
Forwarded:
"Then send an email to ytsejamdc@hotmail.com with your username. I will
then
add you to the registered user's list and send you a reply when its done
(along with your password (which will be your username, unless for some
reason its too short, etc) and the server to which you can connect to). I
decided to do the register process, because it allows me to monitor for
leechers and "bad users" more easily."
Once you get your user name and password, connect to the server supplied to
you by Mark (who runs the hotmail address) and share away. Don't just leech
or be booted, I'm sure that was neglected to be mentioned it =)

With all this talk about 2002 releases, I haven't seen
the band Elsesphere mentioned. Has anyone heard them?
Their "Blind Leading the Blind" disc is interesting. I
haven't had it long enough to review myself. It seems
to be growing on me though.

Hey everyone,
Just to let everyone know how its going, and hopefully remind people about
it.
There has been a good initial turnout for the YDC. We have about 36
registered users, and a good set of 5 users on all the time (including
myself). As Adam said, we do need more users (especially people with
constant connections), but its been very successful for its initial turn
out.
Spread the word! Post messages on news groups and the forums (Portnoy and
Petrucci) to try to make this a bigger community. Just send me an email
(ytsejamdc@hotmail.com) with your username and I'll add you to the list, and
send you an email with the server, etc. As people can attest, I'm very
prompt about it (I usually get a response back in a few hours).
As I've also found out recently, there is a open-source version of the DC
software at http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/ which is much better than the
neo-modulus software and is also spyware free, so I definitely recommend
people using DC++.
This system is much better than an FTP media server. You can queue files,
rather than being rejected when there are no more slots, and the load
becomes distributed over a set of clients, rather than everyone using one
server. I'm hoping when this becomes bigger, that places like Lines in the
Sand (is Bogie still on the jam?) can use this community to replace thier
media FTP system.
Also, I will be gone for winter break (from about December 15th to January
8th) so the hub won't be accessible then. I'll send all registered users a
status email. I hope to put together a web page in January with formal
instructions, and what's currently on the system.
Remember! Send me an email at ytsejamdc@hotmail.com with your username!
And spread the word =)

Hi all,
Good to see more than half a post / day right now.
I know Shadow Gallery have a lot of fans here. I came by an mp3 of (part
of) a track called Stiletto and it sounds pretty good.
So, anyone got any recommendations for which albums of theirs I should try
first? I should point out that I don't really like the more 80's-sounding
cheesy side of prog metal. e.g. I well prefer the sound of 6DOIT to I&W.
(But of course the songs on I&W are still amazing!)

One of my faves that has slipped under the ytsejam radar is
Elsesphere-Blind Leading the Blind
http://www.progpower.de/modules.php?name=3DReviews&rop=3Dshowcontent&id=3D
105
Also another nice one is
Silent Voices-Chapters of Tragedy
Though they are quite DT derivitive.

One more that actually came out in 2001 but I didn't get till this year
is the very crunchy Eldritch-Reverse
http://www.eldritch.it/
One last that I don't think I've seen mentioned
Jughead-s/t
with Ty Tabor, Derek Sherinian and the Bissonette Bros rhythm section.
another Planet X, Platypus, Jelly Jam offshoot........
and one last keyboard heavy favorite
Warmen-Beyond Abilities
thanks for listening

YES!! I listen to Silent Voices at least once a week. Have been for a
while now, and that CD just gets better and better.
Great band, and to me it sounds like some of those songs could be inserted
in Dream Theater's AWAKE CD and not many people could tell the difference
heh heh I love it. Matter of fact, tonight after I get home
from the gym, that's going back in the CD player..

Hehehe.. I was thinking exactly the same thing by the
end of their set! :) It would have sucked hardcore
if I kept on feeling crappy. Like I said, at the time
I really was thinking about going & being sick on
purpose, just so I could recover by that set. Thank
goodness it didn't have to happen.

Yeah, I can imagine that a lot of people's immune
systems might go down after a weekend like that. Hope
that you feel better soon! As it happens, I have some
kind of nasal infection on top of my cold, so I'm on
antibiotics - it's nice to work in a specialty
hospital sometimes! Too many pills, though. I forgot
some this morning, LOL.
---- >Our flight home was painless, THANK GOD. And our >luggage even made it.Excellent, on both points. I took the precaution of not checking any luggage. Going carryon is so much easier in so many ways... though I did have a hard time packing it all up for the trip home; those CDs I bought took up a lot of room! :)
>DUDE. I had SUCH a blast. Great music, great >friends and people....
Amen to that.
>but I must work on more than one meal a day, followed >by a piece of pizza at, what, 2am? Ugh!
I don't even know where you got the idea that you eat more than once a day. I certainly didn't, the entire time I was in Atlanta. I think I splurged on Sunday on the way home at Hartsfield Airport - I had a bagel & cream cheese, baby!
Anyway, I know I didn't get to see all that much of you, but it was nice to meet you nonetheless. I hope the vending was as good as it appeared. :) I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the weekend as much as I did & had a safe trip home. Till next year...
exhausted, Alex
