Hello everyone,

Thanks for being the first to join the community. This is definitely very promising and I hope it will keep growing. If some people could post to some of the various music forums to get the word out, I think we would all appreciate it. We have almost 40 registered users (though some of you haven't shown up =) with about 8 or so constant users (thanks guys!).

Just some general notes:

1) I'm not going to send out lots of updates to clog your inbox, so don't worry about that. However, if you don't wish to receive anything, just let me know and I'll delete your email. No harm done.

2) I advise everyone to checkout DC++ (http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net) for their DC client. Its open source, so it doesn't suffer from spyware, and is just much better all around.

3) I recently doubled my sharing, so I'm up to about 6 GB, all live concerts (mostly) (Dream Theater, Queensryche, Rush, Metallica, Led Zepplin, and much more). I hope you all enjoy.

4) Also a reminder, you don't have to worry about signing off while someone else is downloading something. DC supports resuming, and the file is queued, so when you come back online, it picks up right where it left of. People can just queue files, and you don't have to worry about interrupting them.

I realize Adam posted a complaint about 56k'ers leeching from him. I personally don't see a problem with that, but I'd like to know what people's opinion on that are. If this is a deterrent for some people, please send me an email and we'll try to come to a solution.

5) On a side note, as a courtesy, please try to keep your shared folders organized... (shesh, I sound like a parent). Just helps people find stuff.

6) I will be going home for winter break, so the hub will not be available between approximately December 15th to January 8th. Probably most people will be on vacation anyway, so its no big deal, but I'll send out an email in the new year letting everyone know when it comes back up.

7) Lastly, I plan to make a webpage with a forum (oh boy, yet another one of those) so people can post when they add new files, etc. I'll work out something.

Thanks everyone for participating. And if anyone knows people who'd like to share stuff (i.e. websites wanting media servers), maybe suggest this system. I'll be glad to host it (I'm on 24x7 with plenty of bandwidth).

Enjoy everyone!
