This imposter thing was kind of bizarre.

But I guess this guy won't mind being sent to federal pound-you-in-the-ass
prison as much as the rest of us would. :-)

    Leaving lurk mode..

.to wish James Happy Birthday April 5th. But you know that already ;-) And
another subject: Amazingly, Opeth and Lacuna Coil are coming to Salt Lake.
Weird. I didn't think prog was alive enough behind the Zion Curtain to
attract some fairly obscure bands like these. After all, DT blows off the
state when they're on tour. If anyone knows, and I'm sure you do, what is
Opeth like? I've heard the name on the list, do they have cookie monster
vocals? I think I'm going just because of Lacuna Coil-I know I like them.

    Resuming lurk mode..

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but what is the story with the Portnoy impostor? http://www.attrition.org/gallery/mugshots/mike_portnoy.jpg That picture of him IS him...just several years ago. That's so obvious...I'm sure I missed something.

I am seeing that tour too, when it comes to Minnesota. Opeth does have cookie monster vocals and clean vocals too, I think it is a great combo. I was hooked after I bought Blackwater park.

Zion Curtain? That's a cool name!!!!!!!

Opeth in my opinion of course, is brilliant. Sheer brilliance. I never liked growling vocals till I found these guys. If you play guitar or know any guitarists, bring them along. Most of their songs are long and complex, but the best is how they interchange the growling vocals and angriness with beautiful acoustic or softer parts. For a lack of a better explanation, I suggest you download a few tracks, or just go with an open mind and have a good time :) ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill Huston To: Multiple recipients of list Sent: Friday, April 04, 2003 1:03 PM Subject: Happy Birthday James Labrie

People keep saying that the imposter story is real, but I just don't believe it. Everything about it looks like an April Fool - see www.dreamtheater.net/imposter.html. The Savatage member's comments look like a joke, and the band name is spelt as Dream Theatre.
