    >>... im sure anything the boys produce will blow us away!

Me : Hi doc I need help !
Doc : Well what seems to be the problem Mr Almost Anonymous Ytsejammer.
Me : I feel all strange about this new DT release.
Doc : What do you feel exactly ?
Me : Well, kinda worried, anxious! All this mixed in with a sort of boxed up
    excitment.
Doc : The excitment is normal, but talk to me about you worry when did this
    first appear ?
Me : I guess right after I heard FII for the first time...
Doc : mmmm I see ! And does this happen for every DT release ?
Me : For every one since FII yes.

;) OH GOD I HOPE IT'LL BLOW US AWAY

Even with all the quality prog releases this year : WHAT WOULD OUR EARS DO
    WITHOUT DT !!!!!

    October, come quickly please...

I'd better get back to work,
    Bye for now ye Jammers,
        A Carbon Based LifeForm.

I got the live show from LA (double CD).=A0 BEFORE someone goes off the deep

end, I think it is HELLA-COOL that the band is doing this type of thing.
Mikey's vaults must be full of cool stuff that is just dying to be heard.

That just said, I must say that while this show does have some cool stuff
like Bruce Dickenson guest singing at the end, this CD is *painful* to liste
    n to
end-to-end.=A0 James' voice started cracking on the first song and it was ve
    ry
clear throughout the whole of the show that his voice was shot.=A0

One has to feel sorry for him.=A0 He was struggling the whole night to merel
    y
keep up to the water line.=A0 Kudos to him for being a true performer and ke
    eping
the show going but even for a fan-oddity-CD I would have thought that they
would have given him the respect by NOT putting this one out.=A0

That said, I will offer my 2-CD package to the first person who wants it for

    US$15 postpaid.

I love Enchant too, but I think the midsection of the new cd(about
    tracks 6-8) are kinda weak.
Just my opinion. :) I don't think J9oD10 was their strongest album,
    either...

    Trevor's favorite is Time Lost.

"I guess now that the cat is out of the bag, it is safe for me to report that I do indeed play on Neal Morse's entire upcoming double CD "Testimony" which will be released on Sept 23rd......

I recorded my tracks back in February and I am honored to be a part of this amazing CD and to continue my working relationship with Neal. He has completely outdone himself once again and in my opinion has created another masterpiece.

Spock's Beard and TransAtlantic fans will be pleased to hear that the music is as proggy & beautiful as ever and Neal's writing style is still intact and as intense as ever!

I am also excited to announce that I will be joining Neal in the fall to do some exclusive live shows in support of the album.

    More details coming soon.....

    Mike Portnoy"

I have a question: why did God ask Neal to leave Spock's Beard but let him continue to make music on his own?????????

Uh, you DO know the topic of the new album don't you? Do you really think
he could have done something like that with Spock's Beard??

I'm listening to the John Arch EP "Twist of Fate," to which I was first
exposed at a MP drum clinic.

The music on this is quite good, but holy jeez the lyrics and vocals are
bad. John Arc sounds like a cross between Geoff Tate and Adam Sandler and
the lyrics are a hodgepodge of every bad prog-metal lyrical cliche you can
think of: "chains of misery", "live to die, die to live," "celestial
spheres", "the cross you bear", etc. lol! who comes up with this stuff?

They played A Mind Beside Itself in its entirety in Portland the night
before. It was pretty awesome. I really like the "rockin'" version of
    The Silent Man.

And, Trevor, sorry to hear that you got lousy fan club tickets. A couple
I know got fan club tickets, and ended up front row, directly in front
of Petrucci. Supposedly, about 90% of the fan club tickets are in the
first ten rows. So, maybe reconsider your membership renewal.

Wow. I haven't posted here in about five years.

I remember some bands in the 80s and early 90s that would put out a CD and
then do a medium-weight tour that would last about 8-9 months, then they'd
have a little time off and hit the studio and release another one the next
year and hit the road again... Loved having more CDs from bands. Doing
that over and over would lead to burnout, which was unfortunate.. But
having more great music was a blast.

Well, I have to say that DT is putting them out fairly quickly at the
moment... we had FII in 97, SFaM in 99, 6DOIT in early 2002, and now the new
one around the end of 2003. They're doing one basically every 2 years.

That seems fairly quick to me, or maybe I'm just too used to Metallica...
