Damn wussies, complaining about a little snow. Come to Finland for a
winter and then complain =)
On another note, how would you people compare OSI to Chroma Key? Is it
more like Dead Air for Radios or You Go Now? I haven't been able to
test-listen it anywhere yet. I loved DAFR but haven't quite been able to
get into YGN..
Less than a month to see Symphony X live!! (With Stratovarius, which I'm
not so fond of..)

Heya Rockercat, long time!
You can keep that stuff. This is why I love living where I do. There's SUPPOSED to be snow in February. No complaints here. We'll see if you laugh when the left coast plunges into the sea from an earthquake. ;)
I'll keep my 'Change of Seasons', thanks!

I would say OSI is not as extreme as Kevin's solo material, but it is out there :)
If you get a chance to talk to Jens, tell him that copy protection stuff is... well, never mind.

Here is the latest scoop straight from Queensryche's website:
DEGARMO IN STUDIO WITH QUEENSRYCHE!
Seattle, WA - Founding guitarist, Chris DeGarmo has rejoined his former bandmates at an undisclosed studio in the Seattle area. While it cannot be confirmed at this time whether Chris has officially rejoined the band, the group is writing as a complete unit for the first time in 7 years. A representative for DeGarmo confirmed the original lineup is "creating the next Queensryche studio release". Queensryche have amassed numerous gold and platinum awards and were nominated for a Grammy for their Top Ten Single "Silent Lucidity" in 1991.
Queensryche's upcoming full length disc is slated for an early Summer release. It follows their Sanctuary Records debut, LIVE EVOLUTION, which was released in 2001. The LIVE EVOLUTION DVD debuted at # 11 on Billboard's top music video sales chart.

As you are (presumably) a DT fan, you may like Explorer's Club. I enjoy it a lot, even though it sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom. I'm not a drummer, but there are a lot of drummers I prefer. Have you heard of Nick D'Virgilio? He's amazing and quite easy to get into. He plays in Spock's Beard - all of their CD's have a lot of great drumming on.

I'll second Explorer's Club and also suggest Black Light Syndrome (aka Bozzio Levin Stevins) very good stuff.
For other good drummers, I'd recommend Spock's Beard/NDV, Queesnyrche, and Rush.

That says it all... we all had some idea it was gonna happen, even NDV says it himself "I'm pulling a Phil Collins". You probably all know what I'm talking about just by that half a sentence, but check out the news yourself regarding the Beard. On a side note, got Contagion today. I like it after one listen, but the true liking will only be determined after many listens. I'm disappointed there's no super epic song though =3D)

Has any of you ever listened to the argentinian band Crucis? I discovered an old record of them in a friends house... The did only a couple of records back around '75, and they never hit serious stardom, but they happen to be absolutely amazing! They sound a little like what LTE would have sounded like in the seventies. Very progressive rock, with a lot of creativity put into it. I didn't know "virtouso" bands already existed then.
I seriously recommend you guys to go hit the peer to peer networks and try to find something by them. It may be hard to find anything at all... They are very good by today standards, and absolute gods by 70s standards.
